“Sammi did a great job watching my cat. She kept me updated daily and sent pictures. I definitely recommend her for your pet sitting needs and will be asking her to watch my cat next time I'm out of town.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful! We did 3 drop in visits and each one was done in a timely manner with all the focus on the kitties. Communication was a breeze and our cats were very comfortable the whole time!”

“This was my first experience with rover and Delaney made it great! She was quick to respond to my last minute request and spent quality time with our Cocoa girl. Highly recommend her and will definitely use Delaney in the future. Thank you!”

“Julia is amazing!! She is quick to respond and takes the most adorable pictures!! I also love the notes she leaves with each drop in. I would HIGHLY recommend her!! My dog absolutely loves her.”

“Thank you Sophia! I arrived home after several days out of town to find my male Axo(Larry), active, looking well fed and curious. He’s doing great! I’m very grateful and hope you’ll be available in the future.”

“Madeline was great with our golden retriever for a full week of drop in visits. She was on time every day and gave our dog lots of extra care and attention. I got a report card and pictures daily. I will book Madeline again and I recommend.”

“Excellent job! I am very pleased with the way Isabelle took time to play with my cat. Last time I went away she was so anxious and stressed when I came home because that sitter just went in and out. But this time, my cat was happy to see me and there were no accidents! I will definitely use Isabelle in the future!”

“Tristan did a great job taking care of Lucy! As a cat with IBD, she needs someone to pay careful attention and care and Tristan did just that. I was nervous to leave her but was glad Tristan was the one taking care of her- he was in constant communication about how she was doing and always included lots of pictures and a video. He has no issues administering medicine, either via pill pocket or ear ointment. We would definitely consider Tristan again to take care of Lucy!”

“I do not have the easiest cats. One is super shy and the other just tolerates people. Amanda did a great job with them! She patiently coaxed my shy one out and even got my standoffish one to play. She sent video snippets that showed they were happy and well taken care of. Thank you, Amanda!!”

“Kelly is a caring and kind pet sitter for our cat Tango. She follows our instruction list perfectly, and brushes and plays with Tango who adores the attention. She may notice something out of place, like a light that used to be on is no longer on and lets us know. She is our "go to" pet sitter every time we travel. We highly recommend her!”

“Jasmine was awesome with our cat! Cookie is a ninja at avoiding her pills, and Jasmine was able to thwart her attempts and give her her inhaler, and was overall great with her. I definitely recommend her, and am happy she’ll be watching Cookie again in a few weeks.”

“Sarah was amazing with Miso! Dropped by every day and gave my sweet girl all the attention she deserved. She also took some amazing pictures of her to send to me! Will definitely book again next time I’m out of town. Thanks Sarah 🫶🏽”

“Taresse is a great dog walker. She is prompt, communicative, and takes pride and getting to know the dogs she walks. Just today she was excited to tell me how she handled my sometimes reactive dog when another dog was escaped off their leash. She handled the situation beautifully and clearly my dog trusts her. While I’m using her because I have a broken knee, I’m not sure we won’t want to continue to use her in the future. Highly recommend her though to anyone looking for a dog walker.”

“Our Pup Eddie loves Anna! She gives him extra snuggles when needed, and was able to accommodate small requests like wiping paws, or lunchtime snack. Happy to have her as Eddie’s friend!”

“Jeanine took incredible care of my sweet boy! My dog can be quite stubborn and difficult to get outside, but Jeanine’s magical doggie powers got him outdoors and into the sunshine for his daily backyard adventure! Thank you for the daily visits over the last few weeks!”

“Thank you for caring for our cats while we were traveling! You really made them feel happy, played with, and fed! We really appreciated you staying for the whole drop in visit and sending pictures as we were really missing them while we were away!!”

“Jodi was exceptional and took wonderful care of our two senior kitties while we were away. She asked thoughtful questions, was alwayd qucick to respond, and just the easiest person to get along with! We look forward to booking her for future cat sittings. :)”

“Tyasia was great! She was great with communication, my cats loved her, and her pictures truly made my heart happy. Highly recommend using her for your kitty-sitting needs.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highland
I met Jay today for a paid meet and greet with my dogs. It was a great visit!! He confirmed a few hours before the visit via text, and arrived on time for the visit. He showed up prepared, having previously read all the profile pages of each of my dogs, and asked great questions. My dogs loved him!! I have one dog who's a little more nervous to meet new people and she was very comfortable with Jay. It was obvious that Jay really loves animals and that he cares about their happiness and well-being. I'm glad this is a great fit because I have some trips coming up that I will need help with, and am lucky that Jay will be able to stay at my house!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
