“Xena was great with my dog, Penny! She took great pictures and sent updates throughout the day. She communicated well and I could tell my dog was well taken care of. Thanks, Xena! 😊”

“Once again, Allison did a great job taking care of our boys (and our house). Both the cat and the dog were excited to see her again. We will gladly continue to ask Allison to dog/cat/house sit when we go away.”
About: I have experience with puppies and dogs I have had 2 dogs before a pug and a German Shepard I love taking walks and being outside! I’m a college student but most of my classes are from 9am-12pm so I’m free the rest of the day for whatever your pet needs. I have my own car so I drive a lot and can do homework from my computer. My cats are my number one priority keeping them safe is everything. We always make sure to check for our babies when leaving the house or doing laundry. I’m very careful when it comes to animal Saftey and making sure they are the happiest they can ever be when I’m taking care of them.
About: I have over 20 years of experience taking care of my own, friends, family and others animals. I am well versed with dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and hamsters to name a few. Pet sitting fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to provide consistent care, attention, walks, playtime, and companionship while keeping pets comfortable and on their regular schedule. I enjoy making pet care a rewarding part of my day. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment where pets can feel relaxed and cared for. I give each pet plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and individualized care while maintaining their normal routines as much as possible. My goal is to make every pet feel right at home while their owners are away.
“One of the best sitters I have had. Frequent updates, followed all instructions, went above and beyond. Dash was happy, well cared for, fed, clean, and loved. I felt completely at ease leaving him with Shannon.”

“Jenny watched over our cat and our house for 3 weeks and did an absolutely wonderful job. We couldn't have been happier with her care of both the cat and the house -- including keeping us informed during a terrible storm. She's caring and has a delightful sense of humor. You should hire her.”

“Keara was wonderful with our little puppy Loki. He is very young still and quite anxious around people as he still needs to be socialized. Keara was fantastic with him, very patient and kind and they had a great bond. She was exceptionally communicative and we received detailed and reassuring updates, pics and videos throughout our trip. I can't recommend Keara enough for house sitting!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would :)”

“Our German Shepherd no longer dreads when we leave for a trip. He knows Amanda, his best friend, will come and care for him. For a dog that has separation anxiety, this is the outcome we could only dream about. Amanda is the best there is!”

“Duncan is awesome! He was extremely responsive, and took great care of my dog. He’s a very experienced dog care taker, and loved my dog as if she was his own. I would recommend Duncan to anyone looking for overnight dog care.”

“Lauren was responsive and amenable to helping out with changing health (and diet!) needs of our elderly pup. She was great and our dog was clearly well cared for, and our house was nice and clean when we got home. We would definitely leave our pup with Lauren again.”

“Nicole has stayed at my home several times and always does a wonderful job keeping my babies safe. During her last stay, my flight was delayed and she stayed late on short notice to make sure my dogs got their dinner on time. Definitely recommend her.”

“Jeffrey was amazing with our two pups. We have one who is a bit anxious and fearful around new people, especially men, and Jeffrey quickly won him over! He was available for a meet and greet and gave tons of updates and photos to put our minds at ease. He is fantastic!!”

“Jina surpassed all our expectations! She was very communicative, sending detailed updates, lots of videos and absolutely frame-worthy photos 😻 She made our two week trip worry free and did an amazing job taking care of our cat and apartment while we were away. It was relief to see we left our cat in great hands and how much he enjoyed Jina’s company. They quickly became best friends and we will be happy to book Jina again when needed. Thank you Jina ❤️”

“Mikayla is phenomenal! She was so patience with our anxious pets (a cat and a dog) and ensured both pets got lots of attention and care. She's quick to reply to messages and keeps you updated each day with photos & details about your fur babies. We'll definitely use Mikayla's services again when we travel!”

“Malek was amazing! Both Xochi and Vinny were well taken care of and the house was left behind immaculate! Xochi and Vinny have found their go to dog sitter, highly recommend!”

“Kimberly (Kay) is a sweet girl who was great with our two older dogs. She was an excellent communicator, kept us informed about everything and sent lots of pics. She also took wonderful care of our house. We definitely recommend Kay and look forward to working with her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Redland
Sarah was fabulous! She made sure that my pup was well cared for (especially since she’s post surgery). She gave her extra snuggles and made sure to send me some pictures so I knew that my pup was happy and comfortable. Sarah also took care of my home and let it as she found it (if not cleaner) I highly recommend her and hope that she wants to return 😌

I cannot recommend Thelma more highly! She house-sat our cats for 10 days while we were away and did a phenomenal job. She gave updates and photos, made sure to clarify any questions with us promptly, and truly left our home cleaner than she found it. Great communication, super kind, and above all great with the cats!

Patricia is simply the best. Reliable and she knows pups and loves them; knows how to interact with them and, importantly, what questions to ask. We never had a worry or, frankly, second thought knowing she was providing care. We are so happy she helped and we will definitely use her again.

I'm so grateful to Romario for taking care of my senior cat, Neko, while I was away. Neko needs medication twice a day, and he's very shy, scared of strangers, and not easy to handle. I was honestly very nervous about leaving him, but Romario was incredibly patient and never gave up. He kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which meant a lot to me. Knowing Neko was being cared for made it much easier to enjoy my trip. If you have a cat who needs extra patience or medication, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Romario. Thank you for taking such good care of my little guy.

Luna stayed at our house with our lab for a week. Our pup seemed happy when we returned; Luna had to give her meds twice a day and follow her multi a-step feeding schedule. The house was clean and orderly ( and mail was picked up!). We hope to be in contact with Luna every time we have to be away from home she was great and communicative!

Daniel stayed with our husky/mix for a week, and she had a wonderful time with him! He walked her 3 times a day, made sure she had her pills, and kept her company almost every minute! The house was clean and tidy when we came home. He was extremely conscientious and clearly loved dogs. We'll definitely be using him again.

Arissa was wonderful! She kept me informed and sent photos so I could relax and not worry about my dog while I was away! Arissa was friendly and professional, she made sure my dogs meds were given exactly as instructed! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!

By far the best pet sitter I have ever hired! Andiela is extremely professional, clear in communication, and very thorough. She was available on short notice and treated my pets as if they were her own. She didn't just walk and feed them; she spent quality time playing with them and making sure they were happy and comfortable. I came home to a clean house and to very happy and relaxed pets. A+ service!! Andiela cared for my cat and dog and took the time to know both of them and their behaviors well, gaining the ability to bond with both my shy cat and, initially anxious, then energetic dog. I could go on and on about how great she was. Her energy was amazing. I would definitely recommend and rebook her myself in the future! Thanks Andiela.

5/5 Stars – Emma is an Outstanding Cat Sitter! I recently had Emma look after my two cats while I was away for 4 days, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. We had a nice meet and greet and when I returned, my cats were happy, healthy, and clearly well-cared-for. They met me with their usual purrs (no signs of stress at all). The house was left in perfect order—everything tidied up, and even a little note. We had great communication by email. When planning my next trip and will definitely book Emma again. If you want a reliable, caring sitter who treats your pets (and home) like her own, Emma is the one! Highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Redland on Rover is $55 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 11,226 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Redland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Redland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Redland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Redland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
