“Cathy has been wonderful taking care of our feline children. Cathy even administered insulin injections to our diabetic cat! Wow! Great service! She was always on time and did exactly what was needed to follow the complexities of caring for a diabetic pet.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. From house sitting, to walking them, to even taking care of my own dog. I’ve worked with different breeds and ages, and I love them all! I stay at home mostly throughout the week, and I’ve been wanting to get out a couple of times, and this would be the perfect opportunity to take care of your dogs in walking, or dropping by to play! I live in an apartment complex, so I would have to go to where you are to walk/play with your dog, or I could take them to a dog park!

“Kyrstin was wonderful taking care of our two cats while we were gone for a week! She kept us very updated and shared a lot of photos. She managed medication administration for one of our cats as well. We would trust her over and over again to take care of our boys 💙🐾”

About: There has never been a time in my life where I didn't have a pet to take care of. I have experience in long term stays for deployed military pet parents. I love all dogs, big and small. Cats are the long-time love of my life, I am obsessed with them. I also have spent some time caring for reptiles, am comfortable with feeding snakes rats and also live insects. I am currently between jobs, so I am trying to fill the time and make some cash on the side. Ideally should be able to do any day of the week right now, can get to your pet while you're at your 9-5. I am always amenable to caring for your pet as needed. Your house, your rules! I am dedicated to their happiness and your comfort and convenience.
“Catherine is great in all ways! From the moment she stepped into my apartment, my cat, Tamas was totally drawn to her! He just couldn’t get enough of her as she warmly spoke to him and petted him. As I set out for my trip, I felt confident that Tamas was in good hands and I could relax until I return home!!”

“Britney is absolutely wonderful she walked my dog many times and he was always very happy to see her she talked to him and greeted him with a gentle smile he always looks forward sure coming over Britney also took wonderful care of my cats getting them to eat even though they they they didn't want to because they were upset I was gone I hardly recommend her she is prompt and reliable an extremely trustworthy”

“Cindy is great and for our first visit was very thorough in explaining how she would take care of my dog. Certainly made us feel welcome and grateful my dog and Nero got along great. Definitely will be using Cindy in the future.”

“Xin was amazing with our shy cats. They sometimes won’t come out when they meet new people, but they were very comfortable with Xin. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be booking again.”

“Amy was absolutely amazing! She was really easy to communicate with, she gave us detailed updates on each visit. She was extremely caring and loving towards our kittens. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was taking care of them. Amy even brought in the mail and packages that were delivered. We plan on using Amy for any future trips.”

About: Dogs have been in my life since I was 12 years old. I have had 4 dogs throughout that time. I have experience with both senior dogs and high-energy younger dogs. I am more used to smaller dogs, but one of my current 2 dogs is a 54lb pitt-bull, the other one is a 15lb pug mix. I also used to take care of a 70lb standard poodle for a family I was a nanny for. I am currently unemployed, so I have open availability. I am working on my master´s degree and would like to use this extra time to save a little money since I just got married. I offer dog walking and house sitting services. I can also play with them and provide a safe and comfortable envoinment. I will adapt to whatever specific needs your pets may have.

“Allison did drop-in visits to feed/check in on my young and energetic cat while I was away for a week. He was well taken care of. Allison gave me daily picture and updates, and I particularly appreciated these updates including notes about checking for a potential health issue that flares up on occasion. I would certainly recommend her and would use her again in the future!”
About: I love animals very much. I can always establish a good interactive relationship with pets and help them adapt to the new environment quickly. By observing and perceiving their needs, I can provide timely help and let them spend a relaxing and happy time. I have also taken care of many older dogs and know how to feed them medicine and care for them. I work from home so I am able to take care of the pet throughout the day, I take dog for walks in the morning and evening and take him out to play in the backyard every two to three hours. I have a fenced backyard and I have a six year old very well behaved and friendly little dachshund at home to play with your dog. Because I take care of my own dog every day and have taken care of different kinds of dogs, so I can take good care of your dog too.
About: I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life, given a lot of responsibility to do the brunt of taking care of them after the age of 13. I love animals of all kind, my Mom is a veterinarian so she’s taught me how to take care of dogs healthily and any distress signs to look out for as well. Even with family out of state I’ve helped take care of all shape and size of dog from outside herding dogs to little indoor yorkies. I love animals and I bet I’ll love yours too :) I work part time at the moment hut I’m only getting scheduled about once a week so that is terribly easy to work around. Until the school year ends in May I won’t be available on Monday and Wednesday from 4-6 and then Tuesday and Thursday’s I won’t be available between 12-3 and 4:30-6:30 as well as Friday’s from 12-4 as I have a lab but can provide service to your animal(s) any other time! As well as when summer starts my availability will be open tenfold I try to walk my pets daily permitting weather, I play with them, keep them enriched, practice training a couple times a week with reinforcement and treats. I also enjoy a chill time where we can just keep each other company while my dog is looking out the window watching for squirrels and I’m doing homework, still keeping an eye on her of course 😉

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Redland
Immediately our kitties Ovi and (even sassy) B took a liking to Cindy. Cindy was flexible and met the kitties few days before the appointment and was very attentive and sweet towards the kitties. Detailed oriented. Provided updates and photo during the visit. Will highly recommend and will use service again.

Amanda is so reassuring to her clients and make sure our pets are being taken care of. She does a great job at communicating and taking care of your pet! Trust me, if you have a sitter or this is your first time doing anything like this, pick her or change your sitter because she’s the best of the best! Thanks Amanda!

Amy was excellent at watching our senior cat, who required medication twice a day. She was extremely attentive and responsive to his needs, especially his picky preferences for receiving as an older cat. We really appreciated her help and time to be able to make so many frequent visits and would rebook Amy again in the future.

Christian was very good with my cat, who is very cautious around new people. He did lots of little thoughtful things like leave treats around the apartment for when she was less stressed. He was also very flexible when my travel plans changed without much warning. He is polite and responsive. You can't find a better sitter for a cat in Rockville or Gaithersburg!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Redland. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
