“I loved how wonderful you are in taking care of Finn. You took professional pictures and made Finn look like a model. I'm so glad he behaved with you. I would love to have you back if I need you again in the future.”

About: I have dogs of my own that I take on daily walks. I have two husky’s (11 and 6 yrs) and a pitbull I had for 13.5 yrs (she crossed the rainbow bridge). I enjoy going out for walks because I know it’s a dogs favorite time of the day. I’ve taken my friends and family’s dogs on walks while they’ve been out of town. I’m looking to walk dogs in the evening when I go for my afternoon walks around the neighborhood. There are times where I may have availability during the day as well. I’m flexible and will do my best to fit you into my schedule. I love dogs and I treat all dog as if they are my own. I’ll make sure to make them feel comfortable with me and give them the attention they need.
“Marion is absolutely wonderful. She is always quick to respond, takes amazing care of my Luna Tuna, and clearly has a genuine love for what she does. As a bonus, she even loves plants. I could not recommend her more.”

“Arianna is great! Very professional and sge clearly loves animals and has a nice way with them. She kept me up to date on all their activities (3 dogs and a cat!) and they were very happy and calm when I got home. Highly recommend!!”

“Vanessa did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Sol! She was attentive, reliable, and made sure Sol was happy and well-cared for while I was away. I loved the updates and could tell Sol was in great hands. Highly recommend Vanessa for anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”
“Anton was a fantastic communicator and took my stress away about leaving my kitties. I left for 4 days and have 6 cats and he was fantastic. His picture updates were cute & he went above and beyond to play with them and feed them their wet food. Highly recommend him for any of your animal needs.”

“Hazel has been great help for our busy family and taking care of Max our fur baby. Super punctual and flexible and communicative. Max sure enjoys his walks with her. Thank you Hazel 🙏🏻”

“Teresa did a fantastic job checking in on our cats! She was available for a last-minute holiday booking, was super patient with our shy cat, and we felt safe and comfortable having her stop by our home.”

“Marianna was an absolute angel. Not only did she take on my booking super last-minute (seriously, a life saver!!), but she gave my fur babies all the love and attention that they could ask for! My Ariel is a diabetic, and Marianna was able to administer her injections with zero issues, keeping my sweet girl happy and healthy while we were away. 💚 She even managed to befriend my VERY shy boy Rugen, in very little time! Honestly, a magical feat by itself. On behalf of my both kitties and myself, we highly recommend Marianna as a sitter. 10/10 would definitely book with her again! 🐱😻”

“Karen was extremely helpful and affectionate towards my cat T-Bone. She checked in every day and sent thoughtful and informative messages about my cat. Karen spent a lot of time with my cat during check-ins, and also helped with litter and checking my cat’s food and water dishes. Karen sent numerous pictures and videos after each visit. She was overall very flexible, a good communicator, and a great comfort while I was away from my pet. I really appreciate her help and would recommend.”

“Brianne has been amazing with my dog Diego! She comes weekly for his walks, and he took to her instantly. He recognizes her right away and gets so excited for their 30-minute outings. The walks have really helped his health and getting him back in shape. We’re so happy to have found her — highly recommend!”

About: Just for clarity—I go by Ali, not Alison. To do the background check through Rover, I had to use my legal name ☺️ My first dog "owning" experience occurred when I was four years old and picked out a cock-a-poo mutt from the local SPCA. Charlie, as I named him, was my first love and sparked my admiration for all canines. As I have come to learn, dogs have owners and cats have staff (I have cats, so I would know)! The loyalty and energy of dogs never ceases to amaze me and I have yet to meet a dog I didn't like. I find myself out and about watching and admiring dogs more than the people that may be with them. I'm always very excited to visit my mom and play with her dog, as they never get tired of my trips there! Some of my fondest memories are from when I volunteered at different SPCA's and for other animal advocacy organizations. I have three cats of my own (yes, I am a crazy cat lady along with my wife), so there is no shortage of animal love and appreciation in my own home :) I am not working at this time, so I’ve got all the time in the world to care for your animals! There is no pet that is too big or too small. I am not able to host any additional animals in my own home, but I have petsit for many friends and family members over the years. I am the type of person to get down on the floor to interact with any animal so that we can build mutual trust. I am also happy to take care of other housesitting chores while also caring for your animals.
“This was my first time using Rover and Rachel was great. Scheduled a drop in visit at our place and did a meet and greet a couple days before so Pebbles would know who she was when she dropped by. She answered any questions we had and Pebbles took to her quickly. Arrived on time and sent us pictures during the visit.”

About: I have provided dog walks, drop-in visits, and in-home care for family, friends, and private clients’ pets for decades. I'm comfortable with shy dogs, rescues, and seniors that need a little extra TLC. My priority is to make your furry family member feel safe, happy, and loved. As a Realtor, I’m trusted to care for people’s homes every day. I bring that same reliability and integrity in caring for both your pets and your home. I provide walks and drop-in visits between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m daily. For requests outside of my regular hours, additional fees may apply. Same-day appointments may be available. I follow your instructions to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or medications, I provide attentive and individualized care.
About: I have experience with both cats and dogs, mostly in my personal life. I took two of my pups through levels 1 and 2 puppy training classes, which gave me sime insights on how dogs respond to us as humans. I can administer medications as prescribed if needed. I have no preference, big or small, woof or meow. I love them all. Please let me know what you need and we can make a plan to take care of your lovies. My schedule is often flexible for drop-ins and I can also do most holidays. I'm happy to take your fur baby for a walk or just snuggle and brush them. I can also serve their treats and entertain with their favorite toys. You decide what best serves your pet.

Melody did a wonderful job with our cat Isabel for a week while we were gone! Even though Isabel was a little suspicious at first, Melody was patient with her and won her over. Melody was also super professional, communicative, and responsive throughout our entire booking. We'll definitely keep her in mind for future cat-sitting needs, and we'd highly recommend her to others!

Judson is the best catsitter we’ve had. He’s attentive, caring, and consistent. He gets on the floor with the cats and interacts with them and plays with their toys. Our cats are a bit spastic and weird about strangers but they warmed up to Judson quickly which is always a great sign. He sent us multiple pictures every day of the cats along with a note about how they were doing. Choosing a random person on an app is nerve wracking and stressful because you’re putting all your trust in them to not only take care of your animals but also be in your home. Judson is trustworthy and respectful, but he also has a great sense of humor! I would recommend him again and again.

Teresa took great care of the four community cats that rely on me for suppprt, allowing me to be away a week without worries. I was completely comfortable having her in my home. She left everything clean and tidy and most important, the cats look great! I could not recommend her more highly.
Jazzel was awesome! No complaints at all. I needed someone to check on my cats while I was away, and even with very short notice, she was able to fit us in her schedule and took great care of them. She sent multiple photos during every visit, which gave me so much peace of mind, and even my super skittish scaredy cat warmed up to her after a few days. I would 100% recommend her, and she’ll definitely be my first choice the next time I need someone to care for my cats! :)

Leah did a fantastic job watching our two cats. Our cats can be challenging—one is very shy and one eats everything but is very social. Leah did an amazing job meeting both cats’ needs and making them both feel comfortable and cared for. Both our cats got a lot of love while we were out and Leah went above and beyond to make sure they were well cared for. She sent a ton of updates as well which also made our day better. It made our vacation all the better knowing that everything was taken care of at home. We would definitely recommend Leah’s services and we’re hoping to hire her again in the future.

Ellen is reliable, conciencious and loves cats. She follows instructions carefully, provides feedback and is respectful of house rules. My cat, Isak, has complicated feeding requirements that she has carried out with accuracy and ease. Isak likes her too. Not always easy with this very particular cat.
Betty took great care of our two cats. She also did a great job communicating, letting us know if she was going to be a bit late to a check-in and even sending pictures of proof of cleaning the litter boxes 🙂. She also made friends with our less social cat, which was wonderful to see!

Robyn did dropins for our cat while we were away for the holidays. Before the booking started our cat had to go on a new medication and Robyn was great at trying different things to get her to take her medicine. Robyn was very communicative and we came home to a happy cat.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leisure World. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
