“Neesa came to our meet and greet with prepared questions! Our anxious dog immediately warmed up to her, and she was able to read his body language easily. She sent plenty of cute videos and pictures during her drop ins!”

“Ariana was fantastic! It was my first time using Rover and she explained the whole process to me so I knew what to expect with drop ins. She took such great care of Fee and sent the best pictures in her report. Ariana always responded very quickly and showed Fee lots of love while I was gone! Will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!”

“You couldn’t get a better pet sitter than Jenni. From the moment we first met her she put us at ease. We went away for a week and she dropped in on our four cats each day while we were gone. She does everything you could ever ask for and then will go the extra mile if needed, all while sending daily updates and photos. Do yourself a favor and book Jenni! We will call on her again in a heartbeat to take care of our boys.”
“Marion is absolutely wonderful. She is always quick to respond, takes amazing care of my Luna Tuna, and clearly has a genuine love for what she does. As a bonus, she even loves plants. I could not recommend her more.”

“Hazel has been great help for our busy family and taking care of Max our fur baby. Super punctual and flexible and communicative. Max sure enjoys his walks with her. Thank you Hazel 🙏🏻”

About: I'm excited to have your furry friend over and will give them all the TLC they deserve while sticking to their regular schedules. I've been obsessed with dogs since I was a kid and have taken care of our family dog, Lucky, since he was a puppy up until he passed away due to old age at 17 years. I now have a 6 year old Shiba Inu, Sumi, and a 10 year old cat, Ellie. Sumi was a rescue mill mama and was extremely fearful. With patience and love, she's finally come out of her shell. I've managed to teach both the dog and the cat tricks and work on training with them daily. I have a very flexible schedule at the moment and am home most of the day. I'll stick to whatever schedule your pet is used to so there won't be any confusion when they return to you. Our neighborhood is pretty large and also has a walking trail, so walks can be as short or long as you'd like. There's a dog friendly space downstairs with plenty of room to run around and play with toys, or if they prefer to chill, there's plenty of pet beds and blankets in the living room. I have a very chill and friendly Shiba Inu and Husky/Shepherd mix at home that can keep your dog company. I do have a cat that has their own room and can be separated if your dog doesn't get along with cats. I also have a large crate and two pens available if that's something you're used to doing. Baby gates are set up between each floor, but are usually left open for my dog. There are cameras on each floor so that I can keep an eye on the pets if I'm leaving the home or on a different floor.
“Jazzel was an excellent dog walker. She helped me when my current dog walker could not continue walking buddy. She reported all the details of the visit efficiently and gave us peace of mind. She was punctual, informative and responsible. This was my first time using rover and I had a great experience thanks to Jazzel. I will definitely work with her in the future.”

“I am so glad we picked Scott to check in on our cats while we were away on vacation! The “report cards” were great and filled with lots of photos and videos! Scott is professional and clearly cares a lot about animals. 10/10 will book again!”

“Carrie was FANTASTIC with my dog, Zeke. She provided really thoughtful updates which put my mind at ease and he had so much fun with her the whole weekend. Highly recommend booking with Carrie if you want to have peace of mind when leaving your dog for a day or a weekend!”

“Anton did a wonderful job taking care of Odin! He made sure to send me pictures everyday, and updated me on how he was eating and drinking. I saw too that he took the time to play with him everyday, and make friends with my little guy. Would definitely recommend!”

“This is the second time Jason has walked Dizzy and he was incredible. My dog can be anxious and he is patient and caring, I'm a little worried Dizzy likes him more than me. I trust him in our home. He gives great updates. I am glad and grateful that Jason provides this service!”

About: I’ve always been around animals and have a small chihuahua of my own, who is a shy guy and usually keeps to himself. I’ve been a rover sitter for 2+ years and have multiple families who are repeat clients that trust me with their fur babies! I love getting to know your pets quirks and personalities, and feel a huge sense of pride when they are able to let down their guard and relax with us! I work from home M-F 9-5 and have the flexibility to take breaks and step out when needed! My husband John will also help care for the pups and is home in the evenings. Safety is top priority for me. I know how stressful it is to leave your fur baby in the hands of someone you don't know well yet! I have a crate trained dog and use a harness for our outings. We will share updates, photos, and videos throughout your pets stay to keep you up to date on their whereabouts and activities!
“This is the second time I have used Hyunjung. She is awesome and takes such amazing care of my fur babies. I never have to worry when she is taking care of them. I will continue to use her in the future.”
About: I have provided dog walks, drop-in visits, and in-home care for family, friends, and private clients’ pets for decades. I'm comfortable with shy dogs, rescues, and seniors that need a little extra TLC. My priority is to make your furry family member feel safe, happy, and loved. As a Realtor, I’m trusted to care for people’s homes every day. I bring that same reliability and integrity in caring for both your pets and your home. I provide walks and drop-in visits between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m daily. For requests outside of my regular hours, additional fees may apply. Same-day appointments may be available. I follow your instructions to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or medications, I provide attentive and individualized care.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Layhill
Ellen is reliable, conciencious and loves cats. She follows instructions carefully, provides feedback and is respectful of house rules. My cat, Isak, has complicated feeding requirements that she has carried out with accuracy and ease. Isak likes her too. Not always easy with this very particular cat.
Betty took great care of our two cats. She also did a great job communicating, letting us know if she was going to be a bit late to a check-in and even sending pictures of proof of cleaning the litter boxes 🙂. She also made friends with our less social cat, which was wonderful to see!

Robyn did dropins for our cat while we were away for the holidays. Before the booking started our cat had to go on a new medication and Robyn was great at trying different things to get her to take her medicine. Robyn was very communicative and we came home to a happy cat.
Tracey was so knowledgeable about cats and she was able to administer my cat's eye ointment with no problem. She was very patient with me since I was apprehensive about doing it myself. She established a routine with my cat for the eye ointment and she had me watch and then I gradually did one step of the task and routine at a time until I felt confident to do it on my own. She is caring and compassionate as well as very knowledgeable. Highly skilled and professional. I highly recommend her as top notch!
We worked with Lauren this past weekend as she took care of our cat. Lauren was a pleasure to work with. Great communication and responsiveness. She sent photos and texted me before and after her visits with Mia (our cat). More importantly, when we arrived back home I could tell that Mia was happy which lets me know that she had enough attention over the weekend and wasn't lonely!!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Layhill. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
