“Our pup always has a great time with Patricia and her family. We think of it as a little vacation for her while we're away, which helps alleviate our own anxiety. Our dog is always excited to see us when we pick her up, but she never seems like she's ready to leave. She doesn't do well in unusual situations, so it's very reassuring to know that she feels comfortable and at ease even when we're not around.”

“We needed care on super short notice and Eric came through in a big way. He was so warm and welcoming to Raea and she took to him immediately! He facilitated playtime with her and her new furry friends wonderfully and provided videos and photos each day. She also got lots of exercise which we appreciate! We would definitely recommend him and plan to use Eric for our future pet needs.”

“Kelly and her husband were absolutely amazing with our senior chihuahua Millie! I received many updates including pictures and videos of how she was doing and Millie always was having a blast! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my pup and will definitely book again! Thank you!”

“We had a fantastic experience boarding our dog, Bob, with Jessica and her sweet dog, Max, for six days. Jessica went above and beyond—she walked Bob even in the rain, made sure he took his medication, and somehow even convinced him to wear his coat (a miracle in itself!). She sent thoughtful updates, and it was clear Bob felt completely at home. We’re so grateful for her care and would absolutely trust her again. Highly recommend!”

“John and Viona took great care of Chase. Gave him his meds and let him take it easy with their senior dog. We got photos and videos of our dog during our trip. And communication was a breeze. Would gladly recommend them.”

“Lauren is absolutely amazing! We were hesitant to leave a new puppy and she made the experience so enjoyable. Ruby had the time of her life playing with Lauren's dog and a few other furry friends she was taking care of. She sent tons of updates, pictures and videos and anytime I had a question she responded immediately. I have already booked doggie daycare and will be booking for a week in the summer. Highly recommended.”

“Nadia did a great job watching Oreo at her home. She communicated with me and sent pictures of Oreo . I felt assured he was in good hands and would definitely book again in the future!”

“My two French bulldogs made themselves right at home with Piero and his family. They treated my doggos with great care and attention. It was also a huge plus that someone was always home with my girls. Piero was great with sending pictures and keeping me updated. It was super easy and I will be using him again to watch my dogs. 100 percent recommend - a wonderful sitter!”

“Ming is great!! He is always so flexible with setting up our times. He added on two extra days when our plans changed last minute. Always reliable, and our dog loves him! She can be a challenge with other dogs, but he handles her so well.”

“Chad and his family took wonderful care of my dog while we were traveling internationally. They were provided consistent and detailed updates, letting us know how Luna was doing which made us rest easier while we were away. I would highly recommend for any of your dog sitting and boarding needs, thank you so much for your kind care of our fur babe ☺️!”

“Andrea and Michael were wonderful hosts for our two dogs! Our lab is a bit introverted but they made her feel right at home and both dogs were very happy in the photos they sent and when we came for pickup. We had a last minute adjustment on our drop off time and they were wonderfully accommodating. I’m so grateful that they took such good care of our sweet girls!”
“Azucena was amazing! She was so patient and empathetic with our Brodie as he got adjusted to new surroundings and bigger dogs! She provided lots of updates and pictures. Would 1000% recommend!!”

“Elena was unbelievably accommodating—I accidentally booked a drop off and pick up in the same day and she was able to switch to the overnight boarding I intended! She even did various little supportive things like freezing a Kong for Inis on his ride home. Thanks a million Elena!!”

“Pixie always loves her stay with Jeannie! Pixie recently started taking daily medications, and Jeannie is always very accommodating to Pixie’s every need. It provides great peace of mind to know she is safe and well-cared for when I have to travel. Highly recommend!”

I can't recommend Eric enough!! It's not easy to find someone who handles our 100lb female Berner who can be overwhelmed in new settings. Eric made her (and us!) feel comfortable and reassured and able to enjoy our trip knowing she was in good hands. Will definitely book again in the future!

Jason, and his wife, treated our dogs as family. That was the best part for my wife and I as we could tell that our girls were being treated with love and care. Their home is set up well for dogs and Honey feel in love with one of their dog beds (it's a Casper) and several of the pictures Jason shared showed her hard asleep on the bed. Fozzy loves her frisbee time so we brought one and Jason entertained her, and exhausted her, daily with play time. Again, we got pictures of Fozzy with the frisbee in her mouth and what looked like a smile on her face. Highly recommend Jason and we will definitely be booking with him in the future.

Fiorela took care of our two large, energetic labrador retrievers for a long weekend. She doted on them and kept them plenty busy, with photos and updates every day. She even sent them home with some yummy homemade treats. We would definitely be happy to have her care for our pups again!

This was Snickers' second stay with Calvin & Vanessa and once again, they took great care of him! We were given multiple updates on how Snickers was doing and they even sent us photos to show us that Snickers was having a good time boarding at their home. We would highly recommend Calvin & Vanessa to anyone looking to board their fur baby!

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Layhill.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
