About: I believe in offering dog boarding at affordable rates and want my clients to book with me with the confidence that their dog will be welcomed into our family and cared for like they were our own (who we looove. A lot!). If your dog wants to join in on our active routine, they'll get a 1-1.5 mile walk in the morning, an early afternoon free-play romp in the securely fenced yard, another 1-1.5 mile walk around dinner time, and then hanging with the family in the evening. And I am happy to accommodate any of your preferences for their care! I work from home and am able to spend quality time with the dogs throughout the day. The dogs I care for fit into our family routine, which is active and close-knit. I have a fenced yard that gives the dogs plenty of room to run and play, and I have two Australian Shepherds who just love having a pack. Mine sleep in crates overnight and are fed separately. They are also happy to share their toys to help keep your dog occupied!
“Brisket got to play with other dogs every day and he was so well socialized and so cared for. I would highly recommend Ellen to any others that need to board a dog for a week. I will definitely be using Ellen again.”

“We were looking for a sitter on short notice, and Rachel was very accommodating; facilitating a meet and greet right away. We absolutely loved Oliver, and him and Lana got along right away. Lana had a great weekend away, and we could not be happier. Lots of updates on our trip, many many cute photos. Absolutely would recommend.”

“Min & Matthew were great! My pup has some anxiety problems. They were very patient with her and were able to settle her down without using the medication I sent just in case she needed it. I loved all the pictures and videos. They gave our dog lots of love and snuggles. Will absolutely will be using them again in the future.”

“Christina and her family were great hosts and caretakers for Nina, it was a great experience and my #1 pick in the area. Aside from the gorgeous home, her sweet and loving kids welcomed Nina with open arms and made sure she was comfortable and cared for. Nina also made friends with Coco, their loving chocolate Lab, who shared her things with Nina. Thanks to Christina, the family, and Coco for making Nina’s stay a great one.”

“John and his wife did a great job with our pug, Ellie. They have a really nice house with a good sized fenced yard. They exercised Ellie and gave her the allergy pills. They sent us some great pictures and video of Ellie. I highly recommend them, and I will be using them again!”

“We had a great experience with Nicole taking care of our pug, Memo, for about a week. She was super nice and easy to work with from the start. From the meet and greet, we knew Memo was going to love her. She kept us updated every day on how Memo was doing, and we really like the photos and videos she sent. It really made it a lot easier being away from him. You could tell right away that Memo was comfortable and happy with her and her husband. They treated him like their own and made sure he got plenty of attention and walks. We’d definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.”

“Cameron did an amazing job with Zeke! I will absolutely be using him again. He was responsive, sent photos, kept me updated. I could not have asked for a better Rover. A plus is that Zeke was totally wiped after spending a few days at Cameron's place. Cameron has a huge backyard which Zeke took full advantage of! Thanks again, Cameron.”

“Thank you Miranda for taking such great care of my corgi. The regular updates with photos were a great comfort knowing my 4 footed friend was safe and having a great time!”

“We were so thankful Adysen could take care of our dogs when our usual sitter cancelled on us at the last minute. One of our dogs takes a daily medicine and she got him to take it without a problem. Our dogs made themselves right at home snuggling on couches and chairs. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Marne and her family have taken care of Sadie many times, for both short (1 day) and long (10+ days) stays. Sadie loves coming to stay and it is clear she is well loved and well taken care of. Marne spoils Sadie like she is her own and is great about sending daily updates and pictures. We never worry when Sadie is with Marne and appreciate all the care she and the family provide. If you’re looking for a sitter in the Frederick area, we highly recommend Marne and her family.”

“Thank you Jaxon for taking great care of Mae And Falkor, our two senior goldendoodles. They were well loved and seemed very happy staying with him and his family. He sent regular photos and updates. Falkor assumed his regular spot, comfortably laying on his back mid sofa. Jaxon gave medication no problem. He has a large grass backyard.”

“Jill is always a lifesaver. She always takes great care of Brody and it's such a relief for me. This time, she accommodated my last minute schedule change and I am so appreciative.”

“Daisy Mae thoroughly enjoyed her stay with Kelly and family. Kelly cared for Daisy Mae like she was her own and sent me updates and pictures over the 1 day stay. Kelly was so responsive and accomodated our meet and greet in a short time and was knowledgeable about reading the dogs behaviors as they got to know each other. Highly recommend Kelly.”

“Christina housed my 2 mini Aussies, both almost 3 yrs. old, for a week while I was out of town. 1st time for dogs away from me & home. Dogs seemed like they faired well. Came back a little dirty but nothing that a bath couldn't fix and that generally means they found some smelly things to their liking to roll around in which isn't a big deal as long as they're having fun and active. Christina was kind enough to drop the dogs off at home the dsy after I got back to town which was a big convenience.”

“Kaye has been an absolute blessing! Hercules (my dog) loves Kaye and her family. She is prompt, reliable, trustworthy and will update me when I’m out of town which is always comforting. I don’t know what we would do without her!”

About: Greetings! I am an experienced dog owner and pet sitter, and recently just lost my wonderful lab of 14.5 years. I'm experienced with puppies, adults, seniors, and everything in between, including any dog size petite to massive! I can administer medicine as well. We have a home about 4 blocks from Baker Park in a quiet neighborhood that is good for walks, and we have a fully fenced in backyard as well. I work from home M-F 8am to 5pm, and am generally home at all times. Occasionally I may step out for dinner with my wife or friends. I work from home Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and am generally home at all times. My schedule is fairly flexible during working hours, so I can take our furry friend out for many breaks and walks. I have a fenced in back yard in a quiet neighborhood that's good for walking as well, with parks close by. We love dogs, small to large, and would be happy to host yours.

My pug, Django, loves staying with Linda. He was so excited to see her when we showed up to her place! This is his second stay with her. She’s always kind and friendly and I trust her with our furry little guy. Linda sends lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. Linda is definitely our go to Rover <3

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
