“Gracie had a great stay with Kacy. This was a last-minute stay and Kacy and Justin were very accommodating. Gracie came back happy and tired, which is what we were looking for.”

“Awesome and lovely dog loving family. Knight had a great time. I appreciate their flexibility and accommodations when I had a delayed travel flight departure, that affected my pick-up time.”

“We had a great experience with Rebecca! She took wonderful care of our Labrador, Lexi, over a busy holiday weekend, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and made sure Lexi was well cared for the entire time. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Soumen is amazing! It was my first time having Nala stay with him and his family. She was treated like one of their own, sent pictures and communicated perfectly. If Soumen is available to watch your dog they are lucky to be in such great hands. Thank you for going above and beyond to care for my baby and to make me feel comfortable leaving her in such caring hands. I watch dogs for a living and Soumen is who I go to when I need someone to watch Nala! Thank you!!”

“Curtis and Lindsay were great, sharing pictures and communicating the whole time we were away. Our pup appeared content, happy and tired out when we brought her home. Would definitely recommend!”

“We had a great experience with John and his wonderful wife as our dog sitter. They sent us daily photos and were responsive to our messages. We were at peace knowing they were taking good care of and loving on our dogs. We recommend them to anyone needing this service and would use them again.”

“Ameneh and Niki went far above and beyond while sitting our Shiba Inu during January 2026. We had not one but three plane cancellations due to the large winter storm resulting us being unable to pick up our dog for an entire week longer than expected. Ameneh was very flexible and highly responsive to messages, assuring us that our boy would be well cared for despite our delay and sending frequent pictures. Most significantly, our dog suffers from seizures and takes medicine to prevent them - when he ran out of seizure medication, Ameneh and Niki traveled to our house and retrieved more medication. I would undoubtedly recommend them to care for your pet as they will make every effort to keep your pet safe and happy; even in extremely extenuating circumstances!”

“Zlatka took care of Mr. Blu May 8th-11th. What a wonderful person! It was love at first sight for my dog Mr. Blu he bonded with her immediately. I knew then she was the right sitter for Mr. Blu. Zlatka is very kind and caring and is very knowledgeble of handling a dog. Mr. Blu is a little anxious but Zlatka's demeanor calmed him and he became so relaxed. It was the sound of her voice. I was so thrilled to know that I could enjoy my vacation and not worry about him. Mr. Blu is a major part of our family. I received photos of their walks. He looked happy & enjoyed being with her. I recommend her 1000 %. The best part is she was close by my home. She's #1 on my list if I need a dog sitter again. Mr. Blu & I thank you Zlatka!”

“Robin was exceptional! Excellent responsiveness and very accommodating of our schedules on short notice. Our 10 year old yellow lab and 12 year old Pomeranian were exhausted and happy when we picked them up. Will definitely book with Robin again next time if available.”

“I had an excellent experience booking a 4 day stay with Varsha for my Cavalier- Chloe. Chloe is a shy dog who gets anxious in new places, and honestly does not like most dogs as they overwhelm her. However, she became a brand new dog at Varsha’s house. She was playing, having a great time, and became fond of Varsha, her family, and their dog. Varsha kept me updated on Chloe and sent lots of pictures, which helped me enjoy my trip. They made sure she ate all of her meals and monitored everything. Her dog Milo has such a calm, sweet demeanor and made for a great host. This ended up being a really good experience for Chloe and has actually made her more trusting and open to other people and dogs! I definitely recommend her. Can’t thank Varsha, her family, and Milo enough!”
About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for many years and currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I understand the patience, attention, and consistency pets need to feel comfortable and safe. I have experience with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and the extra care that comes with older dogs. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own. I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and companionship. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks on both weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and bedtime routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, routines, and household rules. I take time to learn each pet’s personality and respect their boundaries, especially with senior, shy, or anxious pets. When staying in a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space, keep the home secure, and provide regular updates so owners can feel comfortable while they’re away.
“This is our second time (maybe 3rd) with Yukon staying at Marieliz and he always has a great time. She communicates so well and we know he is happy and cared for with frequent updates.”

“Highly recommend Pricilla and her family! They were very loving and patient with my anxious and scared pup. Sent pics and updates and obviously love dogs and are great at caring for them!”

“Melania is an excellent sitter. She made sure that our elderly dog felt right at home from the beginning. She provided daily updates and gave him a lot of attention which he loves. When we picked him up he was very calm and didn’t try to make a break for it like he usually does. Highly recommend Melania ?”

“Rene was so wonderful with my senior boy. I was anxious to leave him for the first time ever but, Rene’s sweet and welcoming disposition took away all my fears. We will definitely be seeing her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
