About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am a Graduate student, but I manage to take six- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. I have a nine-year-old mixed breed dog who enjoys her daily walks and sunbathing on the deck, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs very much.

About: i’ve been walking/ taking out dogs since i was 13 for friends and family. i love dogs so much, they deserve the care and attention they need. i enjoy bonding with new dogs and learning more and more about each breed. i can’t wait to be your dogs best friend! currently searching for a job to fit me, but in the meantime would love to take care of some furry friends! i am available pretty often and i have my own little dog at home, so im used to taking care of her! i have a dog named willow. she is the sweetest king charles cavalier spainel ever! she loves meeting new friends. i don’t have a fenced in yard because we have a big back yard with a lot of woods, but there is a dog park near me with a big open field fenced in that my dog loves!
About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.
“Misty is fantastic. Caring about your pup…treats like her own. On time, just wonderful to work with, and my dog never looked back as he went out the door. Instantly knew he was loved.”

“Samantha is a very nice person. I am very lucky that found her to walk my dog Chico on a very short notice! She is very friendly and respectful. Chico gets very excited to see her! Thank you Samantha!”

“Hillary was amazing to work with and was wonderful walking my energetic pup! She was a great communicator and sent update pictures. Highly recommend and will be asking for more walks in the future from Hillary!!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember! Over the past ten years, I’ve had dogs of my own and couldn’t imagine life without them. I also have a cat who keeps me on my toes and makes every day brighter. I’ve cared for all kinds of pets, big and small, and I truly enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I’ll treat your pets like they’re part of my own family. I currently work from home and I am a full time student. I have a flexible schedule everyday. I will be able to take care of your pet any day I care for pets with the same love and attention I give my own—making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and happy with plenty of play, walks, and cuddles.
“Jessie has been wonderful with our pup Sadie. She is a great communicator and texts updates if there are any changes to the schedule. It’s fun to see all the pictures she adds to the daily report. We appreciate all she does for Sadie.”

About: I have a certificate as a vet assistant. I also have lots of experience dog sitting and even have a pet rabbit. I have taken care of younger dogs, as well as older dogs. I will be continuing my education to become a veterinary technician! I care and love on your animals! I would love to be there for your animals and provide the care and love that they need!!! I do not have a fenced yard, and I currently have a bunny too. So it would be better to be at your home or if needed I can keep them at my house and can be caged if needed to be.
“Valerie is phenomenal and took our pup on some super fun walks. She communicated throughout the walk and sent adorable photos. We will absolutely be reaching out to her again for future walks!”

About: My experience and education ensures the safety of animals of varying temperament levels and backgrounds. I enjoy the process of building trust and confidence with animals through approved training methods/mental enrichment activities and using non verbal cues in a playful and meaningful way. Because I don't own any pets of my own I'm able to assist pet owners when they're away from home. I often accept requests up to 3 months ahead of time but, if possible, I will accept same day requests. Many clients value how I communicate and ask if I'm a trainer (I'm not certified yet) because I handle animals so well. You can expect detailed observational updates twice a day accompanied with photos and videos.
“Alexis has been absolutely fabulous with my 13 yr old chocolate lab! I appreciate all the updates & photos and she always communicates quickly with any questions. I highly recommend her & will use her regularly! Thank you Alexis for the peace of mind you provide!!”

About: I truly will treat your pets like they are my own, and I am comfortable with multiple at a time, whether cats or dogs, and large or small. I have been dog sitting for over 10+ years. I have always had dogs in my homes as well, and I had my rescue dog Samson for 11 years til he passed last year, along with three cats I have had for 4+ years now.I have many references who can vouch for my attentive, loving care.
About: I have been a dog owner for 30 years. I have also taken care of all kinds of dogs. People have trusted me to take care of their dogs for years. I currently run my son Aden's autism adult work program, leaving me time for a part-time dog walking job. Dog walking is a job that my son and I can do together. I can walk your dog in your neighborhood and I have a fenced-in yard if your dog needs a place to exercise in a safe environment.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
