About: I have taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with childhood dogs (Lab and a Scottish Terrier) and love all animals! I'm the go-to dog sitter for both family and neighbors as we have lots of extra room in our house and hearts, along with a fenced in yard. I can't wait to treat your baby like my own! My husband works from home and can let your fur baby outside as needed and keep them company. I love to cater to your dogs needs! Whether that's a game of fetch in the back yard, going for a long walk, meeting new friends at my neighborhood dog park, or hanging out on the couch, I'm just happy to have them around! I have a fenced in yard and a friendly cat at home. He keeps to himself for the most part. I also have two children who love to play with and respect animals as much as I do!

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am currently on summer break from graduate school, but I take five- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. I have a nine-year-old mixed breed dog who enjoys her daily walks and sunbathing on the deck, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs very much.

About: I’ve taken care of pets for family and friends for the past 3 years, but I have been taking care of dogs for my whole life. I have experience with dog training as I trained dogs for dog shows. I don’t mind cleaning up and keeping the space tidy. I also love sending cute pictures of your babies when they’re under my care. I’m currently a college student, but over the summer I do research twice a week, so I am free most weekdays and weekends. I have plenty of time to do dog walks or spend a day with your pet while you are out. For multiple days, it depends on the dates and how long I can be away from your pet (ex. A cat) if it’s on a day I have to work my lab. I like to follow the instructions clients give me precisely and appreciate receiving detailed instructions. I love hanging out with your pets and playing with them. I like to keep their daily routine as close to their normal as I can, keeping them healthy and happy.

About: I have a certificate as a vet assistant. I also have lots of experience dog sitting and even have a pet rabbit. I have taken care of younger dogs, as well as older dogs. I will be continuing my education to become a veterinary technician! I have all summer to care and love on your animals! I have one week where I will be on vacation but other than that I would love to be there for your animals and provide the care and love that they need!!! I do not have a fenced yard, and I currently have a bunny too. So it would be better to be at your home or if needed I can keep them at my house and can be caged if needed to be.

About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.

About: I have two dogs and have been around animals all my life and I love helping out to take care of them! I have always had a soft spot for animals and would love to care for yours! I do have a part time job currently however I am able to stop by in the mornings, around lunch time, dinner time and even nights if needed! I can be open to home boarding for dogs if your dog likes other dogs and cats! I have a fenced in yard as well as two dogs and a cat that live in my home! My dogs are a bit timid until you get to know them! And my cat is the chillest cat and doesn’t bother anyone!

About: I have had cats my whole life and have been pet-sitting cats and dogs for many years. I fostered kittens for the ASPCA for years and I have a wide range of certifications from them pertaining to the care of cats and dogs of all ages, as well as anxious or ill pets. I have experience providing medicine to pets through a variety of methods and caring for pets of all ages, from babies to seniors. I work from home part time with a highly flexible work schedule. I choose my own hours so I am available at all times. Hablo español. Je parle français. I don't pet sit in my home because of my two cats. In others' homes I care for their pets with respect, attentiveness and kindness. I follow instructions with care and stay calm in emergencies. I am willing to spend nights.

About: Living in Historic New Market with very walkable streets. About this sitter: Lieftime of experience with all types of breeds, ages, and temperaments. Why I love dog sitting My family had 2 dogs over my lifetime (one mutt and one Yellow Lab) and were very much a part of my childhood along with my own black lab. All have since passed away, but I'm currently looking for some friendly dogs to spend time with. Meet my pets Our black lab passed a few years ago at the age of 14 I work from home most days and have a flexible schedule. I am always mindful of the time away from the home when sitting. I have reliable transportation. We get up early every day and are available most hours. We go for frequent walks and can accommodate varying feeding schedules and specific needs.

I am happy to do drop in visits, dog walks, or puppy train. I love dogs and I would be honored to care for yours. I have two friendly large dogs and we live a few short steps to a trail and lake. Happy to take your fur ball for long walks or jogs.

About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience, caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s been a lifelong passion. From a young age, I’ve been surrounded by animals and have dedicated my life to understanding and supporting their needs. I am a certified veterinary assistant and have worked professionally as a veterinary technician in a veterinary office in Utah, giving me a strong medical background and the ability to recognize and respond to a wide range of health and behavioral concerns. My experience also includes working in multiple kennels across many states where I cared for both dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. This has given me the skills to handle everything from energetic puppies to senior pets requiring extra patience and care. At home, I’m a proud pet owner myself. I have a 13-year-old Chihuahua that I’ve raised since he was a puppy, as well as an 11-year-old pit bull mix I rescued from a shelter in 2017, and my beloved cat I adopted in 2023. My own pets have given me firsthand experience with aging animals, rescue care, and the importance of providing a safe, loving environment. When you trust me with your pet, you can feel confident knowing they will be treated like family—with compassion, experience, and the highest level of care. I am open most days, as I homeschool my child. Saturday afternoons are usually reserved for personal time but I am available in the morning and night. I can let your dog out in your back yard, take them for a walk, clean litter boxes, do playtime, give food, water, and medications on their schedule.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 7,261 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across New London. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your New London. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in New London.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in New London. On Rover:

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
