“This is our second time (maybe 3rd) with Yukon staying at Marieliz and he always has a great time. She communicates so well and we know he is happy and cared for with frequent updates.”

“Casey was awesome with Coda! She had a great time hanging out and running around with her dog Jojo. She’s already been sleeping most of the day just from all the fun she had there.”

“Robin is a rockstar dog lover! She took excellent care of our two french bulldogs... she even let them sleep with her! She was very accommodating to our schedule and understood that we would need flexibility in terms of pick up time since we were not sure how traffic would be. I will definitely use her again.”

“Jennifer is amazing! She was caring and her family loved my dog during his stay as my family would love him. Definitely recommend her services and she’s in my corner for another pet stay if I have to go somewhere in the future with no hesitation.”

“Ashoka and his amazing son watched our toy poodle for several days. I am so impressed at the love and attention they gave our dog . Several walks a day, cuddling, and sleeping together. I will always use them when away!”

“Samantha is truly a gem and cared for my dog like her own. She sent regular pics and videos. My dog felt at ease for 5 days with her. I wholeheartedly recommend her!!”

“Karen was extremely nice, very welcoming of our pup Milo! she kept me updated with videos and pics which really showed how happy and safe Milo was! I really recommend her and will definitely keep booking with her in a future😊😊”

“It is obvious that Erika loves animals and can cater to any dog's needs. She took on our rambunctious teenage puppy with ease, spoiling her with play and cuddles and updating us routinely with pics of their time together. I’m sure Wexler would love to hang out with auntie Erika again!”

About: Greetings! I am an experienced dog owner and pet sitter, and recently just lost my wonderful lab of 14.5 years. I'm experienced with puppies, adults, seniors, and everything in between, including any dog size petite to massive! I can administer medicine as well. We have a home about 4 blocks from Baker Park in a quiet neighborhood that is good for walks, and we have a fully fenced in backyard as well. I work from home M-F 8am to 5pm, and am generally home at all times. Occasionally I may step out for dinner with my wife or friends. I work from home Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and am generally home at all times. My schedule is fairly flexible during working hours, so I can take our furry friend out for many breaks and walks. I have a fenced in back yard in a quiet neighborhood that's good for walking as well, with parks close by. We love dogs, small to large, and would be happy to host yours.

“Jill is always a lifesaver. She always takes great care of Brody and it's such a relief for me. This time, she accommodated my last minute schedule change and I am so appreciative.”

“This was the first time we let our baby stay with someone we didn't know. Tara and her family were awesome. She sent pictures and updates several times a day. This really put us at ease that our baby was in good hands. I will definitely book with Tara again. Thank you Tara and family for taking such good care of Abby.”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for years. I previously worked at a veterinary hospital, where I cared for pets in a kennel setting and assisted with appointments, giving me experience with animals of all sizes, ages, and personalities, and also currently furthering my vet med education. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply cuddling on the couch, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I am a stay at home (expecting) mom, and my schooling is also done at home. You can rest assured knowing that your fur baby will get constant attention and affection I have ample house space and yard space for your fur baby. I also make walks apart of my daily habit so you can rest assured knowing your baby will get all the exercise they could dream of
“Iesha did an AMAZING job with my fur baby! She was very attentive to her and send multiple pictures and daily updates about her. She gave our precious girl lap time (which she loves) as well as a going home party with bubbles and treats. I will definitely use her for any of our future needs🥰”

“I have used Sneha 3 times. She takes great care of my husky and communicates well about any concerns/updates. Boozo makes a great playmate too! My husky always comes back happy and well adjusted. This doesn’t always happen with others sitters. Def recommend Sneha!”

“Kathleen and her family took great care of Juneau. We arranged a Meet & Greet in advance to ensure a successful stay. They sent photos and updates so we knew our girl was having fun while we were away.”

“Nancy was very warm and friendly. We had a lovely meet and greet at the park, then scheduled an overnight visit for Lexie. She kept me informed with pics and video so I could see how well Lexie was adjusting to a new environment. Nancy was highly attentive to Lexie during her stay. Would definitely call upon Nancy again! 🙂”

“We had a great experience with Nicole taking care of our pug, Memo, for about a week. She was super nice and easy to work with from the start. From the meet and greet, we knew Memo was going to love her. She kept us updated every day on how Memo was doing, and we really like the photos and videos she sent. It really made it a lot easier being away from him. You could tell right away that Memo was comfortable and happy with her and her husband. They treated him like their own and made sure he got plenty of attention and walks. We’d definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.”

About: I have always had dogs around my whole life. My family currently has a German shepherd named Zuni however, I have moved out and live in an apartment with no furry friends of my own. Zuni however is always spoiled and I am willing to spoil your pups as much as my own! Including hikes, walks, treats, a bath, cleaning their ears brushing their teeth/ hair! Whatever you and your pup need to feel happy and comfortable! I am currently at home studying for a certification exam to become an occupational therapist and could use to get outside more! I love to walk and go hiking and would be more than happy to take a furry friend with me! I live in an apartment with stairs. My apartment building is dog friendly so some other residents do also have dogs. I would want to make sure or be aware if your pup likes to meet new friends or would need accommodations to prevent/ limit interactions with other dogs. Here dogs are of course allow to hangout on our furniture and snuggle up! Anything else feel free to reach out and I would hope to meet your pup soon!
“Sam and his family took great care of Lola. She’s a senior, with a few quirks and they were so kind and attentive. Great communication and care, we would absolutely recommend them to anyone.”

Robin was very prompt in her responses and Nike came home a very happy kitty! Robin‘s younger son fell in love with my cat and took care of him as though he were his own. Thank you so much for taking care of my cat so well! We will definitely use your services in the future and we will recommend you to everyone.

Kacy and Justin were very flexible and responsive with us. I wouldn't hesitate to leave Filbert with them again. Our dog was well taken care of, had a yard to run around, and we received daily updates. Ours is an only dog, so having their friendly dogs around was good for helping to socialize him.

This is an amazing family who all deserve the highest marks for caring for my senior dog. The three sons even drew me a great picture of Hank! The pictures they send show a happy, “smiling” dog having a good time with either their dog., with family or resting. I feel so confident about his well being while I am away. Thank you all!

Olivia was an amazing dog sitter for our senior pup! This was actually our first time using a sitter, as our almost 14-year-old dog usually goes to boarding facilities. We wanted something calmer for her now, and Olivia treated our "old lady" like her own. We really appreciated her frequent updates. She was also incredibly flexible and understanding when we were delayed by traffic. Our dog was so well cared for, and we'll definitely be using her again!

Zach continues to be my go to sitter for my two large dogs. He is extremely attentive and responsive. He keeps me updated throughout their stay. Dogs always let you know if they like a person! When we pull up to Zach's home my dogs jump right out and head to his door; tails wagging and super happy! Highly recommend.

Christina, her son Zachary, and their dog coco were amazing! Diggs came to her house with an upset stomach to start the trip and Christina was kind enough to even offer to take Diggs to his vet while we were gone if his stomach issues continued. She had a great introductory method for the dogs, she even took Diggs on walks when he isn’t the easiest dog around to walk as he is very reactive (he’s very nice but pulls and is mouthy). Diggs came back tired which is always a good sign for us that he had a great time! Would highly recommend trusting your dog with Christina and her family.

Love that Dorian takes my dog out and works her. She is a medium drive and needs to get her energy out. Dorian realizes this and gets her energy out. She is always pleasantly exhausted when we pick her up. . This is why we continue to choose him to care for her because he does this.

My pug, Django, loves staying with Linda. He was so excited to see her when we showed up to her place! This is his second stay with her. She’s always kind and friendly and I trust her with our furry little guy. Linda sends lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. Linda is definitely our go to Rover <3

Nini had a wonderful time at Emily’s while we enjoyed the fourth of July celebration. She shared pictures and kept us posted. It was Nini’s first time away from home but we were very sure that she’d have a safe and happy fourth at Emily’s place. She also made new friends and had a little pawrty herself! Thanks Emily you’re the best!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
