“Monica took amazing care of our German Shepherd while we were in Florida. She was kind, responsible, and kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog came home happy and well cared for. Highly recommend her dog boarding service!””

“Huck had such a great time! Communication was great and we loved the picture updates. Definitely felt at ease having our boy with Sarah. Already looking at our calendar for his next stay with her!”

“Min and Matt were a last minute booking, but they worked out so well. I was even able to stay an extra day on my vacation while they kept my pup. They made sure to walk and play with him multiple times a day. He was very well cared for and smiled his time at their house. I would highly recommend using them in the future.”

“Annette is the best! I actually hesitate to leave a review because I don't want all of her spaces to fill up! Your dog will be welcomed into the fold and Annette will ask you about - and then pay attention to - their needs. She has been fostering for so long, she has literally seen everything – and can deal with everything. Teddy had a great time, and I left with new insights into her behaviors. Annette is a gem.”

“I have elderly chihuahuas and if you know anything about the breed they get worse in temperament, as they get older. I choose Kaye when reviewing her profile and seeing her experience and the chihuahuas surprisingly cuddled up with her and interacting with her family and other dogs. She’s great in conversation and keeping up to date.”

“Ana and her family showered Mowgli with cuddles, attention and lots of walks! We received several pictures throughout the day and communication was prompt. He came back happy and tired - all signs of a great stay!”

“Sophia is the best! Finding Sophia on Rover made our travels much more enjoyable, because we knew our dog was getting the best care! Our dog was excited to return to Sophia's and came home calm and rested. Thank you so much Sophia! :)”

“Another fun stay with Gail and Kris. They really took their time and put in great effort to give our dog a fun time despite the record heat. It shows how wonderful they are as hosts!”

“Rebecca was fantastic! She took very good care of my dogs and provided updates and was very responsive. I unfortunately did not have the correct dates for my vacation but she went out of her way to not only watch my dogs for the extra night but got them additional food and she was very kind about it when it was my mistake. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Ivan watched Mochi for two weeks and Mochi was very happy upon return. Ivan sent daily pictures of Mochi, too, which we enjoyed seeing during our vacation. We will gladly book Ivan again.”

“Raghavi and her family were AMAZING!!! It was my first time booking a pet sitter, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I got so lucky! Raghavi let me do a little meet-and-greet before I even booked to make sure that Ryder was comfortable with her dog, which put me so at ease, and during the boarding itself, was so accommodating with Ryder's schedule (and went above and beyond by sending me lots of photos while I was away, which was such an unexpected but very nice and much appreciated surprise!) She was so easy to get in touch with, and when I needed an emergency extra couple of days covered, she was so flexible and easygoing about it. Definitely booking again!!! :)”

“Kelly took excellent care of our 1 year old golden doodle pup!! She kept me up to date on how she was doing and sent cute pics which made me feel great knowing she was settled and enjoying herself while I was away. Would highly recommend!!”

“both of our dogs seemed well cared for. His property has plenty of space for the dogs to run and he took them for walks in the woods, which I’m sure they enjoyed. I would consider boarding our dogs with him again.”

“Our dog stayed with Cheryl for a week and had a great time! Cheryl was super friendly and was very flexible with pick up and drop off. So excited we found a great place for our pup when we go out of town. Thank you so, so much!!”

“Emily was wonderful! She watched our Old English sheepdog Hudson for five days and was extremely sweet sending us thorough updates twice a day! Hudson was walked twice a day and extremely well taken care of. He normally is terrified of storms, but he did great with her and her sweet pup Finn. I would use her again in a heartbeat and will recommend her to any of our friends!”

“We boarded our Jack Russell terrier with Lizzie for a long weekend and were thrilled with the care and attention Lizzie gave her. She welcomed her into the family (she has 3 dogs as well as her human family) and sent us photos daily of our dog out on walks and around the house. As well as being someone who really seems to understand dogs, Lizzie is careful and organized: she managed the booking process smoothly and got in touch a few days beforehand to finalize our drop-off time etc. She was kind enough to think of little details like warming up canned food from the refrigerator. Our dog was happy and in high spirits when we picked her up - couldn't be more satisfied!”

“It is obvious that Erika loves animals and can cater to any dog's needs. She took on our rambunctious teenage puppy with ease, spoiling her with play and cuddles and updating us routinely with pics of their time together. I’m sure Wexler would love to hang out with auntie Erika again!”

The median cost per night for pet boarding in Frederick is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Frederick
Emily did an amazing job with our dogs! Her communication was excellent, and I could tell from all the pictures and videos she shared that they were enjoying their vacation as much as we were. One of our dogs has diabetes and requires twice daily injections; she previously had a dog with diabetes and knows exactly what to do! We trust her completely and have used her services several times. We will continue to book with Emily in the future!

My small Havanese, Lexie, stayed for 6 days. I was nervous as this was the first time she would be in someone else’s care for so long. Maria sent pictures every day and responded promptly to my questions. Lexie came home happy and healthy. I will certainly call upon them in the future. 🙂

Christina and Mr. B were wonderful with our little Biewer Bruno! They asked about his personality, got to know what he likes, and loved him like he was their own. They took him on walks and to their local park, played fetch inside with his little toy, doting on him! He was so happy there. I appreciated all the pictures and updates and how flexible she was with drop offs and pickups. Will definitely rebook next time we pass through!

Kacy and Justin were very flexible and responsive with us. I wouldn't hesitate to leave Filbert with them again. Our dog was well taken care of, had a yard to run around, and we received daily updates. Ours is an only dog, so having their friendly dogs around was good for helping to socialize him.

This is an amazing family who all deserve the highest marks for caring for my senior dog. The three sons even drew me a great picture of Hank! The pictures they send show a happy, “smiling” dog having a good time with either their dog., with family or resting. I feel so confident about his well being while I am away. Thank you all!

Zach continues to be my go to sitter for my two large dogs. He is extremely attentive and responsive. He keeps me updated throughout their stay. Dogs always let you know if they like a person! When we pull up to Zach's home my dogs jump right out and head to his door; tails wagging and super happy! Highly recommend.

Christina, her son Zachary, and their dog coco were amazing! Diggs came to her house with an upset stomach to start the trip and Christina was kind enough to even offer to take Diggs to his vet while we were gone if his stomach issues continued. She had a great introductory method for the dogs, she even took Diggs on walks when he isn’t the easiest dog around to walk as he is very reactive (he’s very nice but pulls and is mouthy). Diggs came back tired which is always a good sign for us that he had a great time! Would highly recommend trusting your dog with Christina and her family.

Love that Dorian takes my dog out and works her. She is a medium drive and needs to get her energy out. Dorian realizes this and gets her energy out. She is always pleasantly exhausted when we pick her up. . This is why we continue to choose him to care for her because he does this.

My pug, Django, loves staying with Linda. He was so excited to see her when we showed up to her place! This is his second stay with her. She’s always kind and friendly and I trust her with our furry little guy. Linda sends lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. Linda is definitely our go to Rover <3

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
