“Jennifer was great with Barley and Wrigley! She was flexible with my schedule changes. She provided detailed notes about her visits. Both dogs were smiling in the photos she sent and looked excited to see her. I will definitely use Jennifer again!”

“Kacy and Justin were great! We were here in town for 3 days for a family wedding and needed a sitter/walker for our Black Lab. Kacy and Justin took great care of Bella and really made it easy for us to get to all of our events. I would definitely recommend them to other pet parents!”

“Leslie is wonderful! I feel so much better knowing that our newly adopted dog has a break from the crate while we are at work. I love seeing the photos and detailed updates after her visits.”

About: I'm an early bird gets the worm so I have wanted to start walking dogs for families or busy people that need to go to work. Trust me to take care of your pet! Working part time so it goes well into my routine. I am very flexible and can work with your schedule. Either mornings or evenings works for me I can make sure your pets have clean water and been fed properly. If they need oral medication I can make sure they take what they need
“Delores, is the best sitter I have ever had for my fur babies and maybe even my non fur babies! She is thoughtful, smart and communicates well! We are very pleased!”

“Kim was able to squeeze me in last minute and saved the day! She is absolutely the sweetest person and gives the best pictures of your fur babies. I felt so at ease with her watching them!!! Thank you, Kim!!”

“Our pups just LOVE Sarah. She’s helped us out by doing drop-ins for us on two separate occasions. Knowing that I had someone reliable and trustworthy to stop by and give our babies love & attention while I had to work made things so much easier for us. We’ll definitely be asking Sarah to drop-in again. Thanks for loving our babies as much as we do, Sarah!”
About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and a lifetime of hands-on experience caring for pets. As a proud dog owner of two, I understand that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and personalized care. I'll treat your furry family member like one of my own, providing a safe, loving, and dependable experience while you're away. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine. As a dog owner of two, my days revolve around feeding, walks, playtime, exercise, and making sure they get plenty of love and attention. Caring for my dogs has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each pet's unique needs. Providing a safe, happy, and loving environment is something I enjoy every day, and I'll give your pet the same level of care and attention. I care for my pets by taking them on nice long walks and providing them love and affection that they deserve. My place unfortunately does not have a fence, but my dogs love to roam free and play with the ball out back; If we are not outback we are in the field across from my house throwing the ball and having a good time!
“Jennifer has been amazing with our puppy. She has gone above and beyond to help us take care of Bear with our crazy schedules, sends lots of pictures and updates, and is quick to respond to messages. Could not recommend more!”

“Kristen is awesome! She has taken care of our cats multiple times and they love her! Kristen takes the time to play with the cats and get to know them, and they are always happy when she comes to visit. Kristen has great communication before and during cat sitting. I can’t imagine having anyone else take care of our girls!”

About: I recently lost my 14-year old bulldog and I am looking to reconnect with dogs before committing to another long term companion. I have experience with senior dog care, to include dogs with cancer and dementia. I work full-time from home. During the day, I would be able to offer 2 15 -minute bathroom visits/walks during my breaks from work. I also have flexibility when other needs arise. In the evenings, I am free to give your dog as much love and attention as they desire. I only accept 1 dog at a time (unless multiple dogs are from the same owner and the dogs are pair bonded). I was single handedly responsible for my own dog for 11 years before she died of old age, so I know what it takes to compassionately care for a dog. I have also watched my friends’ dogs and my parent’s dog for weeks at a time. Taking care of dogs is not a new experience for me. I work from home and have complete control over the flexibility of my schedule. I can take breaks from my work to attend to your dogs needs 2 times per day during my 15-minute breaks. I am free evenings. I can also use my breaks to give walks/pet stop-ins if within close proximity to my house. I am willing to take care of dogs who prefer free play in a fenced in yard or those that prefer longer leash walks or park outings. I have no problem with free roam in the house or crating, whichever fits best with the dog’s regular routine. I have a big fenced in back yard and live in a neighborhood with sidewalks and a park 1 block away. I also have a good relationship with a local vet in case of emergencies.
“Devon was great with my kitten with very prompt check-ins. He also provided pictures and plenty of details for each visit. My kitten appeared to enjoy spending time with Devon and he appeared to enjoy interacting with her. Would highly recommend.”

“Shelby was such a pleasure to work with on short notice. She took excellent care of my boys and even got my scaredy cat to come out of hiding. Highly recommend and would definitely work with her again!”

“Lauren was a dream to work with. She took amazing care of my dog & cat. And was very prompt and professional in all our interactions. I’ve already booked her for another service. She is a delight!”

“Rose was a great cat sitter. She made sure our skittish cats were well taken care of and sent us daily photos (despite their attempts to hide). She even disposed of the remains of an unfortunate mouse that our cats had caught. Would definitely use her again.”

“Very happy with Sophia’s care of Leo! We were away for a long time, and it was reassuring to know he was being well looked after. Will definitely book Sophia again. Thank you!”

“Miriam took great care of our cats and we appreciated all the photos and updates. She was very responsive and easy to book with, even though we requested last minute due to our pet sitter cancelling before our 2+ week trip.”

Adrienne took great care of our cat for 4 days while we were away on vacation. She regularly sent us updates, photos and even a video! Also, everything was left very clean despite our cat’s continuous efforts to through all his litter out of the box :). We highly recommend Adrienne and would love to use her as a cat sitter in the future! Many thanks to Adrienne!

Delores is the best! a week before we were going to go on a beach trip, my fiancée and I found out our 12 year old cat was diabetic and needed insulin shots. Thankfully we found Delores who was exceptional with our cat. Insulin is a very time specific medication and she came everyday during the time stated, administered his insulin with no troubles, gave him many cuddles, and brought in our many packages (lol). He also had to have his inhaler once nightly and she was great at making sure he got what he needed! She was communicative and left detailed reports. We felt so much more at ease knowing she was watching our boy! Highly recommend her to anyone!

Justin is awesome. He cares for my kitty any time I’m away - very attentive to her needs well beyond what I outline for her care. For example, noticing that despite having a water fountain she likes still her water bowl, so he refilled that even though I’d said not to worry about it. He asked follow up questions to make sure Maggie was well cared for, and got great pictures of her, which showed he was clearly laying on the floor to hang out with her because she’s not much of a lap kitty and doesn’t tend to jump up on chairs or anything to make it easier to pet her. In addition, he kindly brought in a package that was delivered during our absence. Also, I have a severe food allergy that he is careful to accommodate while caring for Maggie the cat. Finally, it’s a huge plus and great to know that if needed, Kacy can step in if Justin isn’t available for some reason. Love the team of Kacy and Justin!! Recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
