“My pups are so happy whenever Samantha visits them!! She gives them special treatment from her heart ❤️ I'm so happy to have found her to care for my fur babies when I need to be away from them!!!”

“Once again an awesome experience with Misty and Fiona. They sent notes and pictures from every visit and we could clearly see that our girls were comfortable and well taken care of. This is the second of many more bookings in the future. Highly recommend- 5 stars”

“Super duper dogwatch trooper! Provided regular updates and timely pics. Great attention to detail, remembering little quirks I told her about our dog. I’d say even nicer things, but I’d rather keep her a secret ;)”

“Leslie is wonderful! I feel so much better knowing that our newly adopted dog has a break from the crate while we are at work. I love seeing the photos and detailed updates after her visits.”

“Judy is amazing! She is so kind, professional and thorough. She attended to every detail while caring for my 2 dogs, bearded dragon and 2 chicken coops!! All my babies felt her love. You won’t be disappointed when you hire Judy!”

“Alex took such wonderful care of our cat, Pusstachio over our 4 day trip! He has clearly fallen in love with her and it has been such a comfort to know she was taking such good care of him during our absence! We especially appreciate the speed of her response to our last minute booking request! She made time to come meet our cat before we left to get to know his routine. Alex was also so kind to bring in our packages and water our veggies during our trip- which was so very appreciated! 10/10 experience for both us and and Stache!”

“I re-booked Connie because she does such a great job and gives me detailed updates and lots of pictures of my fur babies while I am away. I will definitely book again.”

About: I've been a dog-mom to three very different dogs—a German Shepherd, a Rottweiler, and an Indian street dog rescue—over nearly 30 years. They were always part of the family, traveling with us across the world through military assignments and other moves. I've loved and cared for them through every stage of life, from their energetic puppy days to the challenges of old age, gaining plenty of experience with a range of personalities and needs. I recently said goodbye to Daisy, my loyal companion of 13 years, leaving a big hole in my heart. I have a hybrid work schedule and very few time-bound commitments, making my schedule very flexible. Typically, I am available throughout the day Wednesday through Sundays. I am out of the house 8 am - 2 pm on Monday and Tuesdays. I live in a single family home with a small unfenced yard. I am in a residential community with plenty of space to walk and green areas. There are no other pets or kids in the house.
“Dominique does a great job. She communicates well during my travel and let's me know how my baby is doing. I've used her over three years and would recommend her to anyone .”

“I can’t say enough great things about Valerie and the care she takes with our little one. This last time she was very flexible and was able to add an additional visit because our need changed. I highly recommend Valerie.”

“Ariana took care of our 17 year old cat for over 3 weeks while we were away. We are relatively new to this area and were a little reluctant to let someone we didn't know visit our house and take care of our cat. We feel very lucky for finding Ariana. She did a wonderful job taking care of Dashy and communicating with us. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter.”

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am currently on summer break from graduate school, but I take five- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. I have a nine-year-old mixed breed dog who enjoys her daily walks and sunbathing on the deck, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs very much.

About: I started dog sitting for neighbors when I was in middle school and now I’m in my forties so that’s a few decades of experience! I’m a teacher looking to make some money over summer break, but I also want to pet and cuddle as many dogs and cats as possible while I’m at it. I will love your pets as if they were my own, and I can’t wait to meet them! (I also have four cats and two dogs of my own.) I’m a teacher on summer break, so my availability is wide open! Happy to stop by as many times as needed to take care of your furbabies. My dogs are young golden retrievers, so I’m quite familiar and comfortable with high energy pups. I’m extra cautious about hot asphalt on sunny summer days, and I’ll try my best to ensure your pup doesn’t use your neighbors lawn as a potty! I will take my time with your pets and get to know them so that they will hopefully be as happy to see me as I am to see them! I won’t just rush in and out, I’ll give them some extra pets and hugs and make sure they know that they’re the best boy/ girl in the world!
“Sara stepped in for 2 weeks while my regular sitter was unavailable and Kallie has loved spending time with her. They've been on walks every day, during her mid-day check in. Having this service with someone I feel comfortable with and trust is SO helpful. It also brings peace of mind that my pup gets some love while I'm at work. Grateful for Sara - would recommend and will use again!”

About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.

About: I have two dogs and have been around animals all my life and I love helping out to take care of them! I have always had a soft spot for animals and would love to care for yours! I do have a part time job currently however I am able to stop by in the mornings, around lunch time, dinner time and even nights if needed! I can be open to home boarding for dogs if your dog likes other dogs and cats! I have a fenced in yard as well as two dogs and a cat that live in my home! My dogs are a bit timid until you get to know them! And my cat is the chillest cat and doesn’t bother anyone!
About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life. I love animals. I find it an honor for someone to trust me with their furry friends. I work as a free lancer so I’m available most days from 8am-6pm. I can stay the night if needed and am happy to sit over the weekend. When visiting a clients home I make sure that I do what I came there to do and not too much more! I make sure to clean up after pets and leave the way I found it.
“Maegan was fantastic! She showed up on time, everytime which is far different than sitters we have had previously. She was great with our dogs and they seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed her visits! Strongly recommend her!”

Alex was so amazing with our three cats. She followed all of my instructions perfectly, gave them lots of love and attention, and was able to give my elderly cat her medicine. Alex sent updates and pictures throughout our trip. The kitties were all healthy and happy when we returned. We will definitely use Alex again!

We recently booked Mikayla to care for our two cats while we were away, and she did a fantastic job. One of our cats is very social and easygoing, while the other is much more anxious and cautious with new people, so I’m always nervous leaving them with someone new. Mikayla handled both of them so thoughtfully and professionally. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly paid attention to the details of their care. We came home to two happy and well cared for cats, which is honestly the best feeling after traveling. I also really appreciated the updates and photos while we were away. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring cat sitter.

Misty was fantastic watching our dog Theo while I was away. We couldn’t be happier with our experience! From start to finish, Misty was incredibly reliable and kept us updated throughout the whole stay. We always knew exactly how my pup was doing, with regular updates and prompt responses. We’ll definitely be booking again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter

Ariana took care of our 17 year old cat for over 3 weeks while we were away. We are relatively new to this area and were a little reluctant to let someone we didn't know visit our house and take care of our cat. We feel very lucky for finding Ariana. She did a wonderful job taking care of Dashy and communicating with us. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter.

Haley took wonderful care of our two kitties, Miami and Virginia, through drop-in visits. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly caring, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Thank you, Haley, for taking great care of them. We would absolutely recommend her and would be happy to work with her again.

Kaitlin was wonderful. She came over to meet our dog the day before with short notice and was flexible about adding an extra visit when the forecast showed raining conditions. She took good care of our dog and was frequemtly in touch. She gained our dog's trust very quickly and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
