“This was our first time using Rover or Rene. So glad we did! Our fur babies had a great time and she sent pictures throughout their stay which we loved! I know they loved getting to have a doggy vacation without having to stay in a kennel! Thanks so much Rene! 🐾”

“Alex was a real pleasure to work with as we left our labradoodle with him for 10 days over the holidays. Easy to reach, prompt and pleaant, drop off and pick up were easy and we had a flow of information on Bruce while we were away. Bruce was evidently well cared for and Alex is knowledgeable of and good with dogs. I highly rate Alex and we will seek him out again if we need to board Bruce in the future.”

“We had a great experience with Nicole taking care of our pug, Memo, for about a week. She was super nice and easy to work with from the start. From the meet and greet, we knew Memo was going to love her. She kept us updated every day on how Memo was doing, and we really like the photos and videos she sent. It really made it a lot easier being away from him. You could tell right away that Memo was comfortable and happy with her and her husband. They treated him like their own and made sure he got plenty of attention and walks. We’d definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.”

“Linda took great care of our two dogs (lab and goldador)! She sent lots of pictures and they looked very happy in every picture. They also seemed like they had a great time when we came to pick them up. Linda was very responsive and easy to communicate with.”

“We were looking for a sitter on short notice, and Rachel was very accommodating; facilitating a meet and greet right away. We absolutely loved Oliver, and him and Lana got along right away. Lana had a great weekend away, and we could not be happier. Lots of updates on our trip, many many cute photos. Absolutely would recommend.”

“Kathy was wonderful and sent daily updates. Our dog has never been with a stranger during a vacation so we were nervous but she had our mind at ease the whole time. We did a meet and greet and she was welcoming and great with the dog. Everything went smoothly and we couldn’t be happier.”

“Ruth and Agnes are simply amazing! I got reassurances when I was missing my pup. Then updates and pictures everyday. I could tell Dustin was spoiled with love. Thank you! Highly recommend anyone looking for a pup sitter.”

“Marne and her family were fantastic with our dog! It was a long stay (2+ weeks), over Christmas, and we missed him a lot. But Marne sent daily updates and silly pictures of how much fun our dog was having with her dog (and how comfy he was stretched out on her couch!) and we were confident he was being well cared for. Santa even left a few surprises for him just as if he were part of the family ❤️ They have a nice yard and clearly spent lots of time playing with the dogs. Thanks for everything, Marne! Would 100% rebook with her!!”

“Kathryn and her family took great care of our Banjo and he loved romping around with their dogs. In fact, I think we now have to get our dog his own dog. 😆 They kept us updated on how Banjo was doing and I could tell he enjoyed having dog buddies, human siblings, and a large fenced yard for zoomies. Thanks again, Kathryn & family!”

“Kelly is the world's greatest! She gave us lots of updates on Grizzly and tons of pictures! In all the pics he's either smiling, playing, or cuddling. We know he's in the best hands with Kelly and we are so grateful for her!”

“Sophia is an excellent dog sitter. She took great care of my dog and kept me updated daily with photos, which I really appreciated. My dog looked so happy during his stay with her. I will definitely book with Sophia again in the near future!”

“Dorian really helped us out of a bind when our little boy, Taysom, needed coverage when our situation for having fiends watch him changed within a couple of days of us leaving on a week long trip. He and his daughter kept Taysom busy while we were away. He was quick to respond to inquiries and send pictures and a video to us. He also administer medication for two days. We even had a pre booking visit with him with short notice and Dorian was very accommodating. All in all we were pleased with the service he provided for our little guy, Taysom. 😊”

“Victoria is exactly the type of person that you hope would be on this app. She was very communicative and easy to work with. I was completely confident that my babies would be safe with her and didn’t worry about anything. I’m beyond grateful that she accepted my boarding request. Thanks for taking care of my furry babies.”

“Christina did a wonderful job caring for Angus over the weekend. She posted pictures of him running and playing in her yard with their dogs. He enjoyed his time there and came home exhausted from all his activities! Christina was recommended to us by friends and we would not hesitate to utilize Christina’s services in the future.”

“We had such a great experience with Joanne and she took such great care of our dog even with a very last minute booking. We are so glad we found her, highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Jefferson
Anna was absolutely amazing with our dogs, Bella and Axle! From the moment we left them in her care, we felt completely at ease. She was incredibly communicative and kept us updated with regular pictures and videos, which meant so much to us while we were away. Every update showed Bella and Axle looking happy, relaxed, and having a great time. It was clear that Anna treated them with genuine love, patience, and attention, and she really took the time to get to know their personalities and make them feel comfortable. Seeing our dogs so content gave us tremendous peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worrying.

Lauren and her family took such great care of our golden retriever, Milo, for 2 nights! She was communicative, kind, and easy to coordinate with throughout the stay. Milo seemed like he had a great time and came home happy and relaxed. We’d definitely trust Lauren to watch him again and would highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
