As someone working part-time, I still prioritize pet care and ensure it fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. Here's how I manage pet care while working part-time: Daily Routine: - Morning and evening care: I allocate dedicated time in the morning and evening to tend to the pets' basic needs, including feeding, watering, and letting them out for potty breaks. - Exercise and play: I make sure to incorporate exercise and play sessions into my daily routine, ensuring the pets receive adequate physical activity and mental stimulation. This may involve walks, interactive play, or engaging toys and puzzles. - Regular check-ins: Throughout the day, I periodically check on the pets, ensuring their well-being and addressing any immediate needs. This helps to maintain their comfort and reassurance while I am away at work. Weekly Routine: - Extended playtime: On days when I have more flexibility in my schedule, I dedicate extra time for longer play sessions and activities to compensate for the time spent away at work. - Grooming and maintenance: I schedule grooming and maintenance tasks, such as brushing, bathing, and cleaning, during days off or when I have more available time. - Health monitoring: Regularly monitoring the pets' health and well-being is crucial. I stay attentive to any signs of illness or discomfort and seek veterinary care if necessary. While working part-time, I strive to establish a routine that allows me to balance my work commitments with the needs of the pets under my care. Open communication with pet owners is also essential, ensuring that they are aware of the care schedule and any adjustments that may be required.

Here are some key details that are important to know: 1. Health and medical information: It's essential to be aware of any existing health conditions or allergies that the dog may have. This includes information about their vaccination history, ongoing medications or treatments, and emergency contact details for their veterinarian. 2. Behavioral traits and temperament: Understanding the dog's behavior and temperament helps in providing appropriate care and handling. Details such as preferred walking routes, commands, and favorite toys or treats are also valuable to provide a familiar and comfortable environment. 4. If there are leash restrictions, behavioral challenges, or training techniques to follow, this information is crucial for ensuring the dog's well-being and maintaining control during walks. 5. When caring for dogs, I prioritize engaging and fun activities to keep them entertained and stimulated. Here are some of the activities I enjoy doing with the dogs I watch: 1. Playtime in the yard or park: I engage in interactive play sessions, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or frisbee, in a secure and spacious area like a yard or a local park. This allows dogs to burn off energy and enjoy some quality playtime. 2. Nature walks and hiking: Exploring nature trails and going on scenic walks with dogs can be both physically and mentally enriching. It provides them with new sights, smells, and experiences while promoting exercise and a connection with the outdoors. 3. Socializing at dog parks: If the dogs are sociable and enjoy being around other dogs, I may take them to a local dog park. It provides an opportunity for them to interact, play, and socialize with other canines in a safe and controlled environment. 4. Obedience training: Engaging in basic obedience training exercises can be both beneficial and enjoyable for dogs. It helps reinforce good behavior, enhances mental stimulation, and strengthens the bond between the dog and me as their caregiver. Regarding specific places for walks, I typically choose locations that offer a safe and stimulating environment for the dogs. This may include nearby parks, nature trails, or quiet residential areas with sidewalks and green spaces. Safety is a top priority, so I consider factors like traffic, leash regulations, and the dogs' comfort level in different environments when selecting the ideal walking locations. Ultimately, my aim is to provide a variety of activities that suit the dogs' individual needs, energy levels, and preferences. Regular exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization are all important components of a well-rounded and enjoyable experience for the dogs in my care.

Reviews

Emily did an amazing job with our dogs! Her communication was excellent, and I could tell from all the pictures and videos she shared that they were enjoying their vacation as much as we were. One of our dogs has diabetes and requires twice daily injections; she previously had a dog with diabetes and knows exactly what to do! We trust her completely and have used her services several times. We will continue to book with Emily in the future!

Ash had an amazing time at "doggie camp"! We were nervous to try Rover for the 1st time, especially going out of town for 2+ weeks, but Emily put our minds at ease at our meet-and-greet based on her knowledge, kindness, and experience fostering puppies. Ash became fast friends with her St. Bernard Finn and seemed to be having the time of his life in photo and video updates throughout our time away. It was easy to tell that Ash received the same care in daily walks and quality play time that Emily gives her own pups. So grateful that Emily was available and given the chance we will definitely book with her in the future!

Very grateful for Emily's attentiveness to my kitties! She always sent pictures, a video, and left detailed notes!

Nini had a wonderful time at Emily’s while we enjoyed the fourth of July celebration. She shared pictures and kept us posted. It was Nini’s first time away from home but we were very sure that she’d have a safe and happy fourth at Emily’s place. She also made new friends and had a little pawrty herself! Thanks Emily you’re the best!
