About: Hi! I'm Laurie, and I'd love to care for your pets. As a lifelong animal lover, I know that pets are family. Whether you're away for the day or taking a longer trip, my goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable in their own familiar environment, and if needed, in my home. I'm dependable, patient, and attentive to each pet's unique personality and routine. I believe every dog and cat deserves plenty of affection, exercise, playtime, and gentle care. I take the time to get to know your pet so they feel relaxed and happy while you're away. You can count on me to: Follow your pet's routine and feeding schedule carefully. Provide plenty of love, attention, walks, and playtime. Keep water bowls full, administer simple medications if needed, and clean up after your pet. Send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is doing well. Treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own. I understand that trusting someone with your beloved pet is a big decision. My goal is to earn that trust through reliability, kindness, and open communication from our first meeting through every visit. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members. I'd be honored to provide the loving care they deserve while you're away! I'm fortunate to have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I'm available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits, and I can often accommodate last-minute requests when my schedule permits. Caring for pets is something I truly enjoy, and I make it a priority to give each pet the time, attention, and care they deserve. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special instructions before providing care. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions (if needed), exercise routines, and any house rules you have for your pet. When caring for pets in your home, I strive to keep their routine as normal as possible, since familiar surroundings help them feel safe and relaxed. I'll make sure they have fresh water, a clean environment, plenty of affection, and the attention they need. I'll also treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it secure and tidy while you're away. If your pet is staying in my home, they'll be welcomed into a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where they'll receive plenty of individual attention, supervision, and love. I'm currently in the process of building a secure fenced yard so dogs will soon have a safe, enclosed space to run, play, and explore under my supervision. Until the fence is complete, all outdoor time will be closely supervised and dogs will remain safely leashed. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for as if they were part of my own family. I also keep pet owners informed with regular updates and photos, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and in good hands.
“I left Joe and Bunny with Nat and Ally for day care and couldn’t have been happier with their updates and responsiveness. The pups came home tired but happy. Will definitely use the again.”

“Alex and Christina were amazing with Bucky. We booked them last minute and they were so accommodating! They gave me regular updates the whole time he was with them - photos and videos. Bucky has separation anxiety so it was a huge relief to have him with people who know so much about dogs and could take such great care of him. The next time we’re having a night out in Frederick we will definitely book them again!!”

“Olivia was really great with Lucky. He fit right in with her puppies and they had so much fun playing in her big yard. She also sent me pic and video updates. I will definitely be using be using her services again. 10/10!!! Thanks!!!”

About: my goal is to provide the best pet, dog and cat sitting service. Read on for how I set out to be that special caregiver for your pets. I came to pets and pet sitting “later in life,” and discovered, with great gratitude, a passion and a gift for taking care of your precious animal companions… because that is what they are, for you and for me. I’m not a casual caregiver, or a friend; I’m not walking your dog or feeding your cat or talking to your bird as a favor to you or as a part-time job or hobby. Nor am I in a hurry to get out of your home, or to ‘fit you in’ between errands. My total focus is your two most precious possessions: Your pets and your property…all day long, usually 7 days a week! I’m a full-time professional pet sitter, dedicated to the loving details of caring for your cats, dogs, birds and even chickens! I believe that pets should be as happy with a sitter as they are when their owners are at home (or close to it!). As one Asheville cat owner put it: “I enjoy your notes immensely. I feel like you know my cats as well as I do after a few short days.”
“Nova had a great time with Renee today. Renee was responsive, shared updates throughout the day, and made scheduling very easy. She was flexible and it truly felt like she treated Nova as her own. I will definitely use Renee and her husband again.”

“Ingrid was fantastic with Zazu! Also very responsive and accepted last-minute booking and sent tons of pictures and videos. If I am ever in the area again, I will surely be going to her.”

“Marne, Bailey, and her family welcomed Leah last minute. Even though we both prefer meet and greets, they opened their doors to Leah for a full 10-hr daycare. They alsl addressed all my questions before booking, and before and after daycare. Loved, loved, loved the full communication between us about Leah's day and took great care of all Leah's need in a very structured manner. Based on the report card, leah had a blast with them. As a first time customer to them, I'm beyond happy to call them my first official dog sitters in their area, especially since I move all the time around the District of Columbia and the surrounding states. Thank you so much! We'll see you again!”

“Very welcoming home to our puppy. It was a last minute thing and she was able to accommodate us. Prompt response and sent us a photo update on how Akira is doing. I highly recommend her.”

“Rene is such a thoughtful and conscientious person, I could tell when I first met her that Rene would keep our fur children safe. Our dogs are medium sized but very sensitive and don’t fair well in kennels with a lot of loud barking, hard floors, and little human contact. Our youngest gets separation anxiety and jumps fences. Rene took all of this to heart and kept our pups safe and happy. Thanks so much , Rene!”
“My girl Ozzy had a great time with Rachel and her poodles. She made her feel welcom and Ozzy quickly settled in with everyone. She was flexible with my schedule and even watched her an extra hour when my event ran over. I am greatful Rachel was available on short notice and would happily book with her again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Buckeystown
This was Jax's first time with Nat and Ally and it was fantastic. They kept me updated most of the day with very fun-loving photos of the other dogs playing...Jax was smiling in every photo or just chillin'. The icing on the cake was the family's son handing me a drawing of Jax's name in big beautiful letters. I will definitely be sending Jax here again! :)

Madeline took great care of our dog, Grace. She gave Grace ample opportunities to go for walks, explore the backyard and take naps. She was very caring and Grace hit it off with her from the moment that she arrived for the meet and greet the day before she spent the day. Madeline asked very good questions about Grace’s likes, dislikes and habits. It was clear from the many photos that Madeline sent that Grace was having a wonderful time. We highly recommend Madeline. I think you’re probably 10. Did you put a party?

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
