“We had such a great experience with Joanne and she took such great care of our dog even with a very last minute booking. We are so glad we found her, highly recommend!”

“Kristen was super communicative throughout our pup's entire stay and provided pictures whenever we asked. She has a great/clean setup with multiple yards, proper fencing, and indoor gates. She really pays attention to how the dogs interact to ensure every dog's safety! Will definitely be a returning customer for when we have to board our pup next time!”

“Jennifer was great and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants their dog well taken care of. She provided constant updates, gave him lots of play time, and sent plenty of pictures of him having a blast while I was away. Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“Katherine was absolutely FANTASTIC with my two large dogs! Her home is perfect for dogs of all sizes, and there’s always plenty of friends for your pups to play with. About: I believe animals are essential to human health. I have had pets for as long as I have been alive. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, a horse, a pony, and 2 alpacas. I have a large fenced yard with plenty of room to run and play. I telework, so I am home most of the day with my fur babies. With my variety of fur babies, I have a seamless regular daily routine for pet care. Because I telework, I am home most of the day. I have a very large fenced yard with lots of room to run and play. I spend most of my day in the company of my fur babies.
“Vidhi did a wonderful job taking care of Buddy. Communication was smooth throughout his stay, and she sent daily pictures, which gave me peace of mind. I also loved that she also has a mini Goldendoodle, so Buddy had a buddy to keep him company! He looked very comfortable and happy in her home. I would definitely recommend Vidhi, and I have booked her again for next weekend.”

“We always go to Tetiana first when we need a sitter for Lindsey. She is always very kind and accommodating, and she takes excellent care of Lindsey every time. Lindsey loves going to stay with Tetiana and her family.”

“Brisket got to play with other dogs every day and he was so well socialized and so cared for. I would highly recommend Ellen to any others that need to board a dog for a week. I will definitely be using Ellen again.”

“Bella did a phenomenal job watching Luna. We were in need of new overnight boarding arrangements and we hit the jackpot finding her. We organized a meet and greet before our pup stayed with her so Luna was very comfortable coming back to stay for the weekend. We received many videos and pictures updates during her stay.. putting our hearts and minds at ease while we enjoyed our trip our of town. I highly recommend her and we will be rebooking in the near future! Thank you for caring for Luna like your own family!”

“Jessica made sure our two dogs had a great time. She got them toys, helped with potty training, and treated them like her fur babies! She’s got a whole room just for the dogs and cares deeply for animals. It was nice getting to know Jessica and her beautiful boy Koda! Thoughtfully priced, very personable, and truly loves watching the dogs”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Charles Town
Chris, Rob, and Carla absolutely spoiled our pup (in the best way!!) They treated Alphonse like their own and provided lots of walks, attention, and yummy treats! I think Alphonse will be thrilled the next time we go out of town and he gets his own vacation with this family again. Couldn't recommend enough!

Audrey went above and beyond looking after our boys! My wife and I were able to have a carefree vacation, knowing Audrey was taking fantastic care of our French bulldogs. Audrey kept us in the loop with frequent updates, pictures, and also went above and beyond dropping our dogs off within our home, as we were delayed driving home from our trip due to inclement weather. Thank you so much again, Audrey, we look forward to using you again in the future!

Abby has watched our dog Rocky several times and has always done a wonderful job! Rocky is a rescue, and a terrier, and she let him take his own time getting to know her and her 2 dobie's (both great). This last time presented some unusual challenges, and Abby went above and beyond to make sure Rocky felt safe with her and that we could continue our vacation. She has always communicated well, and has been fantastic with all of her care. I would highly recommend her for your pet!! I can't say it enough. She's great.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
