“Briana was an absolute lifesaver - I had a last minute cancel and she was not only able to take on my dog for a week, she made sure he had an amazing week full of fun adventures! Can’t recommend her enough!”
“Wonderful land for our boys to run on and have fun outside. They enjoyed playing with other dogs there and Emily took great care of them. There are so many places for dogs to explore and they have daily walks around the property. Highly recommend this sitter.”

“We all love Catherine and her family as pet sitters for Harry! Catherine sends us updates with pictures so we can see that he’s happy and feels right at home!! Harry is always happy to see his “other family” and go on new adventures with them!”

“Sadie loves staying with Heidi and her family when we are away. I know she is taken care of and can enjoy our trip! She also loves playing with Heidi's dogs and running in the yard! I appreciate the daily photos and videos Heidi shares of Sadie so much 💖”

“My pups had a great time with Adrienne, who accommodated us last minute. Our pups are high anxiety and they settled in quickly and happily for a couple of nights at her place. She’s great about providing the amount of updates you feel comfortable with, and was thoughtful with how she prepared for their stay. I would definitely recommend!”

“Terri was amazing. So chill and relaxed around our sensitive dog. She is one of those rare sitters that does not have her own dogs or cats and is 100% dedicated to yours. She has a house and yard that are peaceful and quiet and in a great neighborhood for interesting walks. I would 100% recommend Terri, she is an absolute gem.”

“Abby did a wonderful job watching our dog! We had a meet and greet the week prior that went great, her two dogs are sweet and playful and got along with ours well! I’m not sure our dog wanted to come home she was so happy there!!”

“I was in a pinch to find a new dog sitter and Lori came through for me. She took such good care of Milo and gave him tons of attention. Lori also did a nice job grooming him. Thank you Lori for everything!”

“Took great care of our Roxy. She enjoyed the socialization, was tired when we got home, which is why we know she enjoyed it. Appreciated the communication, was very helpful as this was new to us.”

“Gabby is awesome! She took such loving care of our dog, offering updates and adorable photos throughout the stay. Came back to a happy and well-cared-for pet. Highly recommend Gabby!”

“I was looking for a place to board Sake that was a mid-point between my home to Bryce Mountain to go skiing. I found Maki who was on the way to the slopes. She was very accommodating when I forgot the dry food (Mom Brain), but luckily I brought enough wet food for Sake's meals. I appreciate they were very patient with Sake trying to sleep in her crate at night while I am attempting to crate train her. I was worried she might be howling most of the night, but surprisingly, Sake ended up napping inside her crate after we got home today. This is a new behavior for Sake which I am so happy to see!!!! This is a good sign that she is dreaming of all the fun walks and attention she got from Maki and her family. She shared photos and informed me on all of her walks, her desire to chase a squirrel, and when she peed, pooped, finished her meals, got several belly rubs and chilled at the house. I highly recommend you go to Maki whenever you need boarding. She is conveniently located on the way to the slopes. Upon pick up, her son was kind to carry the crate out to my car and place it in my trunk. I noticed that Sake's belongings were neatly folded, cleaned and organized inside the overnight bag. Sake will definitely return when I need to go back to the mountains for the weekend or day when I am not able to bring her with me. Thank you for taking good care of her. When I see Sake sleeping well after her visit from boarding, that is a positive sign that she had an awesome time with the family.”

“Perfect stay for our pet. First time using Rover and we sure lucked out with David! Very nice and communicative about our doggy’s day to day. My family felt like he went above and beyond caring for our Ollie, will be sure to bring him back when on vacation”

“Jax was so well cared for in Joanne’s care. She is delightful and took Jax pretty much on a last minute notice. She always has a smile on her face and was a joy to work with. Jax was well adjusted being back home.”

“Our 1.5yr old puppy, Birdie, was in the very best hands with Melissa during a recent boarding! Melissa is thorough in her intake, noting Birdie's food allergies and current schedule, and is warm and gentle in helping pups acclimate to a new environment. Melissa maintained Birdie's schedule, giving her plenty of outdoor and play time, and administered Birdie's medication, giving us peace of mind to focus on family. We enjoyed the handful of photos Melissa sent along the way and always appreciate her responsive communication. Melissa is deeply professional and the most thorough and warm caretaker and our expectations are always surpassed when Birdie is with Melissa!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
