“Heather is the absolute best! She took wonderful care of our baby, and we can’t thank her enough. Great communication, and she took the time to send us daily pics to let us know how our pup was doing while we were gone.”

“Aly was truly amazing. The moment she said my old lady aloof cat had cuddled with her, The stress of leaving my fur kids with someone new melted away. The whole craw absolutely love her and she sent pictures. She just completely put my mind at ease and we’ll be booking with her again.”
“Lindsey is an exceptional sitter. The utmost care and attention is given consistently. Our furbabies really like spending time with her and we feel she is a true friend to them.”

“Alexia was absolutely wonderful with our 2 pups and I am so glad we booked with her! She stayed with our pups all day and did an amazing job! Our older golden just had ACL surgery so she was great with taking extra care of him! Our younger golden has a lot of energy and she did great at keeping him entertained and happy. We will definitely be booking again! It was so great to be able to go away for the day and know our pups were happy and very well cared for!”
“Lauren was friendly and even came a little early! I left for work knowing Diego was a happy pup in good hands. He greeted her with lots of kisses and even took the initiative to find out where cleaning supplies were after I mentioned Diego happy pees and cleaned up after him without needing to be asked. We will definitely be repeat customers! Thanks Lauren :)”

“Teri was so loving to my baby boy Diego, and made sure to provide updates so that I felt completely secure and I knew he was being well cared for. Will definitely be a repeat client and I highly recommend Teri for your pet needs!”

About: I have owned dogs all my life and have cared for dogs of all different temperaments and sizes. Any time spent with a pup is time well spent in my eyes! I have the rest of the summer off, so I have plenty of time to spend with your animals! I am available when and where you need me:) My own dog is very reactive with other dogs due to past trauma, so unfortunately my home is unavailable. However, I am open to any sized house/yard, and would be more than happy to take your pup on a ride to the nearest dog park or walking path!

“This is the first time we've used Rover for house/pet sitting. Our first choice was Lana. Lana came to meet us and our pets and we felt very comfortable w/ her from the moment we met. She cared about our pets and was interested in their individual needs, likes, and dislikes. We were very comfortable going way w/ Lana here to take care of our fur babies. She kept in touch, sent pictures, and ask questions when needed. She also cleaned up after herself and washed the bedding, towels, and dog blankets before she left. We certainly didn't expect this, but it was GREATLY appreciated! You couldn't tell she was ever here as things were just as we left them. We will DEFINITELY use Lana again if she is available. Thank you so much Lana for letting us have a worry free vacation.”

About: Hi! I’m such a huge animal lover! I’m an avid dog lover! I had a American Stanford Shire for 7 years who I loved dearly before she passed away. I learned so much about dogs from my experience with her, specifically about pit breeds. So all your pit breeds out there don’t hesitate to call me:) I love all breeds bully, Rottweilers, Pitts, mastiff and boxers! My schedule is super flexible so it’s easy to fit yours. Rover appealed to me because,I’m not able to have a dog of my own right now. But it allows me to still Be able spend time with dogs. I’ll be sure to show your pup TONS of love and affection while we are on walks and be sure to take it at their pace. I’m available for running and walking appointments 7 days a week, so if your dog needs to go and let out some energy I’m the one to call. I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies soon!
About: Companion animal care in high school, a member of FFA, have had pets my whole life ranging from dogs-lizards-spiders-etc!! Experience with larger working breeds and senior pets as well. Also have experience with exotics such as snakes lizards frogs and so on I work night shift 4 days a week, and would love to have a new reason to be up and moving during the day. I have more free time than you’d expect, and I’d love to spend it caring for your fur babies I follow instructions thoroughly, and have more than enough extra love to show them, if you have any questions feel free to ask!! I’m willing to answer any and all of them
About: Hi, I'm restarting my animal care business. I want to ensure a stimulated experience with a swift pace and consistent disciplined walking style of what I like to refer to as "nose to toes," where the dogs stay no further than my toe, to my sides, or behind me. I also have experience with aggressive dog behavior, so if a single walk is necessary, I can do that. I have been in the animal care business for as long as I can remember, and I know Fairlington very well since I grew up here. I now live in Harper's Ferry in West Virginia. I will be able to track my walks with a phone app that will track your dog's walking pace, distance traveled, and the route we take. I usually do pack walks of 3-5 dogs depending on size, but I can do singles if needed. I'm also able to cat-sit/dog-sit and care for exotics and birds (no insects). I'm flexible because I have my own cleaning/organizing/declutter business. I wake up however early dog might need be let out or pet given meds, and give at least 3 long 30min-hour walks depending on the energy level and few let outs throught the day if needed for young pups or older if bladder is sensitive. Plenty of loves and can work on training or stimulated play time with toys and puzzles. I will be professional and not have any guests over ever, and always keep doors locked when not there and if plants need care I can help with watering. I have 4 animals myself so it's pretty automatic to just add another pet cuz I've cared for multiple animals at a time or drop in visits when needed throughout my day. Whatever the fmaily requests for schedule when to feed, medicate(if needed), amount of walks and play time needed to make sure they're healthy and stimulated. Whenever they're ready for bed, crate if needed requested by parents, and make sure they go outside(dogs) to ensure no accidents throughout the night. I give them just as much love and attention and play as my own. And feed round same schedule unless instructed otherwise. Giving exercise and play time when needed. And kept to routine of crating if owners instruct.
“Michael was great... he kept me updated with photos and was in and out as if he was never there! Followed my requests for my dog to a T! Highly, highly recommended! Very responsive. Thank you, Michael!”
“Angie was excellent with our two dogs! She came to meet them ahead of time and learn about their schedules. She was very friendly and communicated well about her visits. She was courteous and very clean when staying at our house to watch the dogs. We loved having Angie care for our two dogs while we were away. Highly recommend!”
About: I am ready and able to handle anything your dog throws at me (figuratively and literally). I love to hike with my two pups and they have two widely different paces, so I have alot of experience with different styles and activity levels. I am comfortable with any breed and size. From talkative beagles to slobbery Newfoundland's. I have sat and walked for neighbors and friends and this has brought great experience. Cat dad at home 🐈 🐈⬛️ Taking care of your pets is my top priority. It is a passion of mine to make sure they are well cared for and loved. I have a deep affection for all dogs and form strong connections quickly. I have a fenced front yard as well as a larger field that is also fenced. I have mowed trails so we can go on little nature walks.
About: Having grown up with pets my entire life (from pigs and peacocks to dogs and guinea pigs), I understand the importance of providing great care to all furry friends. I have two dogs of my own, a 4 year old lab and 7 year old Cavapoo. I am happy to provide play time, snuggle time, walks, and medication (if necessary) for puppies to senior dogs. I know leaving your fur baby in the care of someone else can be stressful, so I try to alleviate that stress by being responsive, providing updates, and loving on your pet while you are away. **please note, I do not provide care for aggressive dogs. Thank you for understanding!!! I have plenty of time to care for your pet. I work part time from home, and am able to provide walks, play time, and couch time if you have a snuggler. I have a fenced in yard with two friendly dogs. For them, we enjoy nightly walks, afternoon fetch, and morning treats. If you board in our home, your pet must be dog and kid friendly. At your home, I can provide play time, walks, and tons of love and affection.

As always Heather's time with our dogs was 100%. Sherlock and Watson are very comfortable and happy when she stays. She is very communicative. This is her second time staying with them, but we have used her for drop ins also. Already have 2 trips planned for next year. Would highly recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kearneysville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kearneysville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kearneysville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
