About: I've taken care of multiple types of animals over the years! Dogs, cats, birds, bugs, reptiles, rodents, amphibians and fish! Much of my experience comes from working at PetSmart and owning most of these animals myself! I have 2 Rottweiler/Husky mixes, 2 cats, a cornsnake, 5 birds (Sun Conure, Green Cheek Conure, Cockatiel, and 2 Budgies!), 3 axolotls, one tank of Koi and Goldfish, and another tank of tropical fish! I currently work part-time at PetSmart as a pet caretaker! I have Thursdays off, but my work schedule doesn't normally get in the way. I always wait for an animal to greet me first to avoid stressing the pet out. I normally have calming chews and treats on me to try to encourage the animal that I am not a threat.

Lauren was friendly and even came a little early! I left for work knowing Diego was a happy pup in good hands. He greeted her with lots of kisses and even took the initiative to find out where cleaning supplies were after I mentioned Diego happy pees and cleaned up after him without needing to be asked. We will definitely be repeat customers! Thanks Lauren :)

About: Having grown up with pets my entire life (from pigs and peacocks to dogs and guinea pigs), I understand the importance of providing great care to all furry friends. I have two dogs of my own, a 4 year old lab and 7 year old Cavapoo. I am happy to provide play time, snuggle time, walks, and medication (if necessary) for puppies to senior dogs. I know leaving your fur baby in the care of someone else can be stressful, so I try to alleviate that stress by being responsive, providing updates, and loving on your pet while you are away. **please note, I do not provide care for aggressive dogs. Thank you for understanding!!! I have plenty of time to care for your pet. I work part time from home, and am able to provide walks, play time, and couch time if you have a snuggler. I have a fenced in yard with two friendly dogs. For them, we enjoy nightly walks, afternoon fetch, and morning treats. If you board in our home, your pet must be dog and kid friendly. At your home, I can provide play time, walks, and tons of love and affection.

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover, and spending time with pets is something I genuinely enjoy. Whether it’s going for a walk, playing, or simply keeping your pet company, I love making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I have over six years of experience caring for dogs and homes for friends and family. I also have some experience working with dogs who have anxiety or separation anxiety, and I’m happy to provide patient, compassionate care to help them feel comfortable. While I’m not experienced with aggressive dogs, I’m committed to creating a positive experience for pets that are a good fit for my skill set. I currently offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I have two Boxers of my own, so I’m comfortable caring for large dogs and understand the exercise and attention they need. In addition to dogs, I love cats! I previously worked for about 2½ years at a cat café partnered with a local rescue organization, where I cared for cats every day, including administering basic medical care, monitoring their health, and meeting their daily needs. This experience has made me confident caring for cats of all personalities. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! If you have any questions or would like to know more, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to caring for your pets as if they were my own! 🐾 My schedule is currently very flexible, so I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening services. Please let me know what dates and times work best for you! I prioritize your pet’s safety by following routines, providing attentive care, respecting your home, securing doors, and keeping you updated with photos and messages. With that if there is anything you need me to add in I will gladly do so to keep you feel at ease!

About: Hi! I’m such a huge animal lover! I’m an avid dog lover! I had a American Stanford Shire for 7 years who I loved dearly before she passed away. I learned so much about dogs from my experience with her, specifically about pit breeds. So all your pit breeds out there don’t hesitate to call me:) I love all breeds bully, Rottweilers, Pitts, mastiff and boxers! My schedule is super flexible so it’s easy to fit yours. Rover appealed to me because,I’m not able to have a dog of my own right now. But it allows me to still Be able spend time with dogs. I’ll be sure to show your pup TONS of love and affection while we are on walks and be sure to take it at their pace. I’m available for running and walking appointments 7 days a week, so if your dog needs to go and let out some energy I’m the one to call. I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies soon!

Having never been left alone since the passing of her brother (they used to board together in a kennel) we were concerned about what to do with our senior dog, Abby, during a 10-day trip to Europe. We turned to Rover.com since we felt staying in her familiar home would be better and Abby would receive more attention and activity. We reached out to Lauren who got back to us in minutes and arranged an in-home "meet and greet" visit. She and her partner came by to visit and we were immediately impressed with her kind way with Abby, her approach to staying here with Abby, and her experience taking care of dogs. We were very pleased with her care of Abby, the updates she would send us along with photos of Abby were very helpful, and it was nice to know they were all getting along well -- and at the same time, our home was being cared for along with Abby! They had car rides and visits and walks and Abby did very well with her new friends right in her own home. When we returned home, our place was clean and tidy, sheets were washed and folded, Abby was happy and doing well. Our neighbors told us how nice they were and that Abby was happy during her walks. We were very glad to have found Lauren and Ali and would not hesitate to have them stay with our little one in the future! Excellent care and support for our doggie and for us.

This was our first time using a professional pet sitter and we were going on a trip where we had limited access to email, text, message and phone. It was very difficult for us to leave our pups with someone we didn't know, but let me tell you...I've never seen my pups happier when I returned home. Nate sent lots of updates, so that we would know what was going on at home and contacted me immediately when he thought something wasn't right with one of my pups. Nate also left our home in pristine condition. I highly recommend Nate as a pet sitter and we will definitely use him again.

Terry went above and beyond watching our one year old pup, Bravo again. Terry even slept on the couch because Bravo seemed a bit nervous at night. Bravo didn’t want to leave and loves their property and dog. Terry sent pics and videos during his overnight stay. We can’t thank their family enough!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Baker Heights

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Baker Heights on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 854 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Baker Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baker Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baker Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baker Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Baker Heights. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
