Aly was truly amazing. The moment she said my old lady aloof cat had cuddled with her, The stress of leaving my fur kids with someone new melted away. The whole craw absolutely love her and she sent pictures. She just completely put my mind at ease and we’ll be booking with her again.

We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with Heather. After a few disappointing encounters with other sitters who didn’t even show up to meet our dog, Heather was a breath of fresh air. Not only did she show up as promised, but she immediately connected with our dog, treating him with genuine warmth and affection. While we were away, Heather cared for our pup as if he were her own—providing regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear he was in loving and capable hands. We wholeheartedly recommend Heather to anyone in need of a trustworthy, compassionate pet sitter. She exceeded all of our expectations.

About: I have been an owner of many animals! I have taken care of dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, and farm animals. I am an animal lover and enjoy spending time with them. I was hosted in a wildlife refugee home when I was young, so I have a lot of experiences with animals with special needs. I have retired early and looking to help out with animal care. I have an open and flexible schedule and can work with pet owners about their needs and schedules. I can accommodate and adapt to your family’s routine and will build on the household’s established needs to create a structured, consistent environment for your pet.

This was our first time utilizing ROVER sitters, and I am so glad we were led to Lindsey. From our initial meet and greet, our three-year-old playful and energetic Shepherd Theo loved her.She asked very thoughtful questions about his routine, and we could tell she genuinely loves animals. She quickly put our minds at ease as we had to go out of town for the day. I highly recommend Lindsay and we will definitely be reaching out to her again.🤗

About: I've been a passionate animal lover since I was born. I started out with my own neighborhood business, in which I offered dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting services to a consistent client list of 11 homes over the course of 6 years. Then I branched out a little more professionally and spent 2 years at a boarding school in Missouri in which I studied puppy socialization and training, adult canine socialization, obedience, and behavior modification. I also received additional training for Therapy/Assistance Dogs, Vet Technician, and canine anatomy, philosophy, and psychology, specializing in no resistance training. After 2 years, I received my certificate as a CALO-Certified Dog Handler and American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Certified. I am well versed in dogs and cats of all temperaments, and provide the best care I can for each dog and cat that are placed into my care. I am currently working part time, so my pet care availability depends on my weekly schedule. If contacted far enough ahead, I can rearrange my schedule to better accommodate needs. I am fully available on Sundays for any services. I am a very active person, so walks are always my go to. I would love to play ball or frisbee in the backyard, or even take your dog to the dog park! Unfortunately, I am unable to bring dogs back to my home, but will use any resources given to me by you or the public!

Lauren was friendly and even came a little early! I left for work knowing Diego was a happy pup in good hands. He greeted her with lots of kisses and even took the initiative to find out where cleaning supplies were after I mentioned Diego happy pees and cleaned up after him without needing to be asked. We will definitely be repeat customers! Thanks Lauren :)

I would gladly visit a house multiple times to check in on and walk a dog. I am also willing to take care of cats as well, such as cleaning their litter and feeding them. I always have my phone on me so you can get in touch with me at any moment. I can't wait to watch your adorable dog or cat!:)

Brittney was wonderful with both our dogs and sat with my oldest dog wrapped in a blanket and played music during a thunderstorm ( he is very anxious with thunderstorms. She was also accommodating with my mom visiting the dogs regularly. I really appreciate that she was also willing to message with my mom as we were on a trip that was far away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Winebrenners Crossroad

Heather was absolutely incredible, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! After some disappointing experiences with other sitters in the past, I was nervous about leaving my cats while I was away, but Heather went way beyond anything I could have hoped for. She checked in on my girls four times a day, which is a lot, and every single time she gave them so much love, attention, and care. She sent tons of pictures and kept me updated throughout the entire trip, so there was never a moment where I had to wonder how they were doing or whether they were being taken care of. Most importantly, it was obvious from the pictures and updates just how comfortable and at ease my girls were with her. Being able to actually relax on vacation and know that they were safe, happy, and in such good hands meant more to me than I can say. Heather truly went above and beyond, and I’ve already recommended her to basically every friend and family member I know who has animals. 😂 Absolutely five stars. If you’re considering Heather to take care of your pets, don’t hesitate. I would trust her with my girls again in a heartbeat! ❤️

Terry went above and beyond watching our one year old pup, Bravo again. Terry even slept on the couch because Bravo seemed a bit nervous at night. Bravo didn’t want to leave and loves their property and dog. Terry sent pics and videos during his overnight stay. We can’t thank their family enough!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Winebrenners Crossroad

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 841 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Winebrenners Crossroad. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winebrenners Crossroad walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winebrenners Crossroad maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winebrenners Crossroad choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winebrenners Crossroad. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
