“Ashley was great. She took great care of our very energetic dog for a whole week including a holiday weekend. She sent lots of updates and our dog had a great time playing with the labs!”

“Very good experience everytime with the sitter. They always send pictures and vedios and give all the updates. We know that our Shiner is always in good hands. We are very thankful.”

“Terri and Chuck are so caring and so thorough with their fur guests. They welcomed our pup Sienna with open arms, and followed all of our instructions for care. Terri genuinely loves animals and it shows in the care she gives them. We loved the many pictures and video updates during our trip. Thank you Terri!”

“Nat & Ally were excellent with my girl. They were very accepting when I needed to change the dates several times. They sent lots of pictures so I could see my girl and how comfortable she was, particularly during a thunderstorm which she hates. I will definitely be booking with them in the future!”

“Once again, Cindy was the best! My dog was happy to see Cindy. She treats my dog like one of the family. She makes sure she’s fed, walked, and sends me pictures and a note. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Cindy is the best!!”

“5-Star review for Hannah! Angel not only got treated like a family pet, she got to play with Amara, Montana and D.O.G. while she was there! I received updates and multiple pictures of Angel while I was away. It was very comforting to know that Angel was safe and being loved on. Hannah’s home was clean and pet-friendly with a large fenced yard for the dogs to run around and play in. I would highly recommend boarding your pet(s) with Hannah and her family. I look forward to using her services again!”
“Mandie was wonderful and helped us with a six day stay with very short notice. Communication was perfect with quick responses and frequent updates with pictures. We definitely recommend Mandie and will surely be back!”

“Chris and Gerry are so nice, loving, and kind. My girls felt at ease while staying with them. It helps that they only take one client at a time. If you are looking for someone to love your babies like their own, look no further. Definitely book with Chris and Gerry!”

“As always, Kuzco had the time od his life with Rachel and Jason. They're so good with him, it allows me to breath a little easier as a first time pawrent. Thank you!”

“We always feel reassured that our pup is taken care of and they’re happy to have her. Daisy is treated like the princess she is. I highly recommend their family to watch your beloved pets.”

“Laura was so great with Teddy! He loved playing with Gin!!! You can tell she really cares, and we felt totally comfortable leaving him with her. Selfishly, I almost don’t want to tell people how awesome she is 😉 We’d definitely book with her again if she’ll have him!”

“My dog Daisy was left in the care of Iesha for 8 days, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing job she did. This was my first time leaving Daisy with a sitter and I felt comfortable she was warm, professional, and attentive to Daisy. Throughout the entire stay, Iesha kept me updated with messages and photos about how Daisy was doing, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Daisy looked so happy and relaxed in every photo. Iesha followed all of Daisy’s routines perfectly, from her feeding schedule to playtime. When I picked Daisy up, she was healthy, clean, and clearly well cared for. It felt like she had a little vacation of her own! I would 100% recommend Iesha to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented pet sitter. I will absolutely be booking with her again.”

“Rene did a great job with our dog Ruby. I received constant texts with pictures letting me know how she was doing and what she was doing. Ruby has some special diet needs and Rene was awesome in accommodating those needs. Definitely will use her in the future.”

“Our dog Hank is a small mixed-breed dog with lots of energy. He had a blast staying with Marne and John. We received daily pictures and were so happy he was in such great care. The backyard has lots of space to run around and they had lots of toys. We met with Marne as our dog and theirs got to know each other. She was very friendly and helpful with getting the dogs introduced. We definitely recommend them.”

“Matt was super easy to work with and took good care of our Aussie, who was hesitant to leave him when we went to pick her up! It’s so nice to find a dog sitter who works from home like we do. Highly recommend Matt.”

“Justin was very friendly and answered all of our questions at a meet and greet where we got to meet his dogs and see the fenced in yard before we booked. We appreciated the daily updates and pictures and overall had a great first experience with Rover.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
