About: I have grown up with pets of all kinds my whole life. I have owned dogs, cats, small reptiles, rabbits, fish. I have over 25 years of Petcare/animal experience. I have professionally cared for animals for 15 years. I have worked in Petcare in a pet store caring for the in-store animals: fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, pockets pets, insects. I have volunteered at an animal shelter. I have worked my adult career in a primary veterinary clinic, and a specialty veterinary referral hospital. I have lots of experience with cats and dogs. I have pet sat for many friends and family. I have personally rescued several senior pets- cats and dogs, and I am very comfortable with medication administration, physical ambulatory assistance, and incontinence support. I have established and maintained many personal aquarium & terrariums of my own, as well as for family & friends. I have my weekends open for time to spend and company to give for a sweet pet in need of some special attention while their owners take care of some things. I work full time at a veterinary referral hospital and am available Saturday-Sunday (all day), and currently Monday & Tuesday, and Thursday Evenings. I offer bed boarding (over nights) & day care ( 9am- 9pm) in my home on Saturday and Sundays. I offer pet walking & drop-in pet sitting services Sat. & Sunday (all day, after 10am). I am also available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings after 5:30pm for dog walks and drop-in pet visits. Please message me with ANY questions!! : ) I live with a senior dog, and 2 cats. They are all spayed/neutered, nails trimmed, and fully vaccinated. My cats keep to themselves, and my senior Cavvie, Frannie LOVES the company of other dogs!!❤️ I have a fenced in back yard, and I am only a minute walk away from a big community park.
“This was our first time leaving our baby Mavis. We were nervous, but got to meet Ashley and her dogs prior to her stay. Ashley's dogs are very sweet and mellow so that was no concern. She also ensures the dogs she watches are also of the same nice and friendly disposition. She sent frequent updates and photos to update us during our trip. She was just overall awesome! Our dog whimpered as we were driving home with her because she didn't want to go home to be the only dog and had soo much fun being part of Ashley's pack. We feel good leaving her for her next visit with Ashley knowing she is in great hands!”

“I could tell that Clover was comfortable and enjoyed her time with Sandra. Sandra sends frequent photo updates and responds promptly to any messages. I’m looking forward to booking more services with her”

“Chris and Gerry are so nice, loving, and kind. My girls felt at ease while staying with them. It helps that they only take one client at a time. If you are looking for someone to love your babies like their own, look no further. Definitely book with Chris and Gerry!”

“Nadia and her family were AMAZING! They took care of my dog and made him part of their family for the holidays, took him on walks daily, and loved him like their own. Pictures and updates were constant. He had so much fun playing with their dog Legalos he was sad to leave! Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Anna took such great care of our German shepherd, was communicative and understanding when we had an unexpected travel change. She was more than accommodating and went above and beyond to help given our travel issue. Anna’s house is great for any dog, her dogs are very sweet and her family is awesome. I cannot recommend enough and we will book with her again 1000%”

“Iesha was awesome! She sent us daily updates and was flexible with the drop off and pickup times when we had our plans change. I was nervous about leaving our kitty for the first time but he had a great time and was comfortable pretty quickly with Iesha and her family. And our dog had such a great time too playing with her dog. Will definitely use Iesha again! Thanks for taking such great care of our babies 🩷”

“We highly recommend Chris and plan on using him again for years to come. This was the first time our 2 year old shih tzu had been away from home but Pepper felt immediately at home. We got daily pictures and Pepper went on lots of fun walks in different parks. Chris had also made a window perch for Pepper so he could also look out the window. Chris works from home and only takes one dog at a time so Pepper had lots of attention. Chris was responsive to our questions and followed our instructions.”

“Heidi and her family take great care of our dog. I do not worry when she is in their care and she has a great time! My kids and I also love the daily pictures and videos of our pup, they mean so much!”

“Rose was wonderful with Baxter! He was one happy puppy playing with Nola and taking walks with Rose. He was giving kisses when he left. We have already booked our second visit with Rose! She is awesome and I strongly recommend her!”

“Amazing with our dog —she loves them both. Very kind, caring, and communicative. This is our third stay with Marne and John. It was really nice to know she was safe and happy while we were away.”

“Barbara was fantastic! We received daily updates with pictures. Would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a sitter. Will definitely use her again.”

“Matt was super easy to work with and took good care of our Aussie, who was hesitant to leave him when we went to pick her up! It’s so nice to find a dog sitter who works from home like we do. Highly recommend Matt.”

“Maria and Brian were incredible sitters for our dog Felix. They have a warm, inviting home and clearly care very much for the dogs they are watching. Our 6 month old shepherd mix has a ton of energy - he was clearly well exercised he came home so tired! We received regular updates and our dog was so happy to be there that he didn't want to leave! We will definitely be using them again and we highly recommend them for a loving home away from home for your pup. Thank you Maria, Brian (and kids!) for loving our dog as he were a part of your family!”

“I HIGHLY recommend Tavin!!!! She is so sweet and I can tell she really loves animals and cares for them. I LOVED and appreciated all the adorable updates on how my fur baby was while I was away. I will definitely reach out to her when I need a puppy sitter from now on!!!”

“Michelle was AMAZING with my little girl! I felt completely at ease being away because she truly put her heart and soul into the visit. Will definitely be bringing my girl back for another stay as she had SO much fun and received SO much love!”

“Laura was so great with Teddy! He loved playing with Gin!!! You can tell she really cares, and we felt totally comfortable leaving him with her. Selfishly, I almost don’t want to tell people how awesome she is 😉 We’d definitely book with her again if she’ll have him!”

Payten was amazing. I will definitely be using her again. It was my baby's first time being with a sitter. He is very reserved and stubborn, but he really warmed up and trusted her. That right there shows me that she is a person to be trusted. She kept me updated regularly, even sending pictures. Thank you Payten!

Kelsey was extremely flexible with a last minute booking… literally the afternoon before an early morning drop off. She kept me updated on my pupper the whole time with messages and pictures. I also had an undetermined pickup time and they were very understanding. Willow enjoyed her time there and came home worn out. I would recommend them 1000 times over and will use them again, no questions asked.

Nadia watched my timid Maggie over the weekend. She sent me several photos and updates thru out my dogs stay, which put me at ease knowing Maggie was being well cared for and doing fine. Nadia has a dog Lego, who quickly became Maggie’s buddy and made her stay even more comfortable. I highly recommend Nadia and will definitely take advantage of her again to watch my dog.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
