I am available anytime in the afternoons ranging from 12:30pm-9pm. From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed I usually am taking care of my animals but I can always fit in time for yours too! I will offer to feed your pets, buy treats, little bit of exercise and playing, I will make sure they have everything they need and make sure they don’t get into any trouble the best of my ability. “Such an amazing dog walker! My dog absolutely LOVES her. She’s always on time, caring, and attentive with our pup. We feel so lucky to have found her. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

About: Hi, I’m Tess! I live in Charles Town, WV with my two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Louie, and two cats, Tatiana and Rudy — so your pet is walking into a home that already loves animals. I take a slow, easy approach to dog care. I let dogs sniff, wander, and just be themselves, whether we’re doing a neighborhood walk, a quick potty break, or a longer trail outing. Every walk is just two dogs at most, so your pup gets real time and attention. I always send photo updates along the way so you can see how they’re doing. I welcome dogs of all sizes who are friendly with other dogs, cats, and people. For boarding, I have a large fenced backyard and keep things small and relaxed — more like a home than a kennel. I also offer occasional house sitting for dogs who are happiest in their own space. I’d love to meet your pup! Feel free to reach out to check availability or set up a meet-and-greet. Fridays are my day off, so walks are unhurried and get my full attention. For boarding, I'm home all weekend, so any dog staying with me has someone around rather than sitting alone in an empty house. Dogs staying with me have access to a large fenced backyard and are never left alone outside. Inside, I keep a calm, low-stimulation environment. My Cavalier Louie lives here full time, so any boarding dog will be introduced to him gradually and supervised until I'm confident they're comfortable together. I do a meet and greet with Louie before confirming any boarding stay. For house sitting, I follow the owner's routine as closely as possible so the dog's environment feels as normal as it can while they're away. Photo updates are sent throughout any service.
“Ashley is awesome!! She was great with our male lab who is still learning the ropes on the leash. He loves her! She’s warm, friendly, thoughtful - going above and beyond for us. She is definitely an animal lover through and through. You’re in great hands in her care. Highly recommend Ashley!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I can remember. I’ve always had a dog in my life, taking care of them was my main priority in my house! Making sure they ate, went on walks & bathed. I am currently unemployed since I just had my baby. So I have all the time in the world to make sure your furry loved one is taken care of! I have a very friendly dog who loves to play & a big back yard where they can run & play. At your house I will let them also get out & enjoy their time outside as well as inside. Will make sure they are bathed & fed & taken out when needed to.
“Selena is great! She's so friendly and thoughtful with her updates on how walks went and taking photos to show my dog is having fun. Definitely happy to have found her, and very grateful for the help!!”

“Jennifer did an amazing job! She gave us piece of mind knowing that our dog was taken care of while we explored DC. She was very thoughtful with our pup on the extreme temperatures too!”

About: My family and I started using Rover in 2018 when our 17-year-old dog, Faith, needed to be watched during the day. Rover helped make our last months with her a little easier and less stressful until she passed away in early 2019. I began to work with Rover myself in 2020 while I teleworked for two years because of the pandemic. Since then, my family and I have welcomed dozens of dogs into our home. Over a year ago, we relocated to Ranson, West Virginia from Fairfax, Virginia and two of our clients often still travel to our new home for us to board their dogs. I am still working full-time but my parents, Carla and Rob, have been providing great service during the day. We only look after one dog at a time, and someone is always with them so you can rest assured that your dog will get the love, care, and undivided attention that he or she deserves. We love all kinds of dogs and will look after yours like it was our own! In fact, this past April my family and I adopted Milo from a family who used to board him with us. They could no longer give him the attention he needed so they reached out to us to make him a part of our family. I work Tuesday-Saturday and am away from home from 5:30am-6:00pm. My mom works from home remotely and my dad retired and provide excellent care and attention during the day. I ensure that your dog gets plenty of love and attention. They have frequent potty breaks and neighborhood walks. I have plenty of dog treats and toys to keep them entertained and occupied.
About: Grew up dog sitting many different breeds and ages. Had a beagle myself growing up. While in the military and overseas I got my German shepherd. I fostered a pitt, Frenchie, and a mastiff overseas as well. Very comfortable providing care needed and medication. I am in school full time online, this provides me with a lot of free time that will allow me to provide extra care for your animals. I live in a great area where I can walk and care for different animals. Your animals will feel very safe with me caring for them.
“Arnie is terrific! He's always early, has a smile on his face, and comes prepared with poop bags! Very efficient and flexible. Arnie has been a God send. I'm glad I chose him to take care of Cannoli while I recovery from.surgery. highly recommend!”

I have an open and flexible schedule and can work with pet owners about their needs and schedules. I am knowledgable of the diet needs and differences of various types of dogs and cats, along with various cage animals (hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, chinchilla's, etc.). About: I’ve owned German Shepherds my whole life and have over 10 years of hands-on dog care. I’ve cared for breeds of all sizes and personalities through feeding, walking, playtime, grooming, and sticking to their daily routines. I treat every dog like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. (For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be in the process of moving into a new home, so my availability may be a little all over the place. Please don’t hesitate to send a request anyway—I may still be available, and I’d love to help if I can! 😊) I’m currently unemployed and actively looking for my next opportunity, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to focus on pet care. I can be available throughout the week, adjust to your routine, and make sure your pets get steady, attentive care, lots of affection, and consistent updates. I’m really looking forward to dedicating my time to doing what I love most. Giving animals the care and comfort they deserve. I genuinely light up meeting new pets. I can’t wait to learn your fur baby’s quirks and favourite things. I care daily for a long-haired German Shepherd, four cats, fish, and a leopard gecko, so keeping safe setups and sticking to routines is second nature. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions to a T, keep things clean and calm, and send upbeat, regular updates, so you can relax knowing they’re safe, loved, and truly seen.
“Sherry took our menagerie of dogs and cats in stride when she arrived and she handled my dog Duncan with ease during the walk. She obviously loves animals and my dog, who is sometimes shy with strangers, immediately liked her and will be happy to see her the next time she comes. I highly recommend her if you need a good caretaker for your pets.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
