âBrooke took care of our cat Garfield while we attended our son's wedding in Virginia; it's been several years since we had a sitter. No worries. Brooke arrived on time, did everything we asked, and texted us a picture/update at each visit. She is now Garfield's new friend. Highly recommend her for your pet-sitting needs.â

About: Iâve never dog sit for someone else before but I would love the opportunity to do so! I have two dogs of my own so I know how to take care of them, give them their proper food, and take them on long and short walks! :) Im currently working part time at my job so for the most part iâm available! Best days and times for me would be Thursday, Friday, and the weekends preferably in the late morning, afternoon, or evening! At my house we have a lot of gates and fenced off areas so that they wonât pee or make messes. If needed I can easily do so! I can also try to feed them specific foods you might have and such.
About: Iâve been pet sitting for over 13 years and have experienced with a range of animals. Ive grown up with and taking care of dogs and also have experience with cats and horses. Iâm considered my family and friends dog whisperer and go to for training and introducing dogs to one another. Iâm a big believer that pets arenât more than just pets, theyâre our furry family members and deserve all the love in the world! I currently work full time but get home around 4 for evening play dates with the pups! Iâm also available during the weekend and every other Friday for walks or check ins. I love an active lifestyle and love walks so I am more than able to walk the pups! I donât have a fenced in yard but I am happy to go out and walk around as much as a dog may like!

âJenny couldnât have been more amazing! She sent wonderful notes during every visit along with a Pictures. she loved and cared for our dogs while we were away, and made sure that they had everything that they needed. We couldnât have asked for anyone better.â

âWe appreciate Elspeth's help in taking care of our chocolate lab Ziggy while we were on a day trip. She is an excellent communicator and very conscientious, and it was clear she did a fine job taking care of Ziggy's needs for a potty break, food, and play. She will be our go-to sitter whenever she's available.â

âSamantha was amazing, very friendly and reliable. Check ins were on time, and communication was great. Ollie was taken great care of, would absolutely use her in the future.â

âTanya was great to work with and was great with our two dogs. Our dogs are a bit tentative when meeting new people, so Tanya was great with letting them get acclimated with her before leashing them. She is very responsive and easy to work with!â

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Airy
Alex was great! She took great care of our dog, and was generous with her time and communication which was appreciated because we were nervous leaving the pup for the first time since moving to the area. Our dog is a cuddler who clearly adopted Alex happily into the pack. Would definitely recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about our pet sitter! Summer is a genuine animal lover and took excellent care of my two cats (Tigger & Hurricane) and my bearded dragon (Thorn) while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that my pets were in such capable hands. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about each animalâs individual needs. Tigger & Hurricane were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I returned, and Thorn received wonderful care as wellâwhich can be especially important when caring for reptiles with specific feeding and habitat needs. I also appreciated the updates and communication throughout my trip. It was obvious that my pets were receiving lots of attention and care, and I never had to worry about how things were going at home. Summer also has a wonderful, friendly personality, and I would absolutely trust her with my pets again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and knowledgeable pet sitter. Five stars all the way!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
