“Boarding with Ellen was outstanding. We had a family emergency that made taking our large dog with us impossible. He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am a Graduate student, but I manage to take six- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. As a little kid my childhood dog was my constant companion and when I wasn't with him I was with the neighbors' dogs. In my twenties I moved to Alaska where I pursued a career in dog mushing and for two years lived with 120 dogs! Unfortunately due to frostbite I had to move back to the east coast. Meet my pets I have 2 dogs, Cash a one year old Australian Shepherd and Littles a 15 year old Boston terrier mix. Both love to play!! Cash is still a puppy and will play all day long!! He loves every dog he meets. Littles is 15 and recently lost his sight He’ll try to keep up with Cash but mostly just loves to sleep. I also have 2 horses, Shadow and Dandy (the love of my life) in their late twenties, some chickens, and a barn cat. About my yard I live on five acres across from Patuxent State Park. We have a huge fenced in backyard, with lots of trails in walking distance! My experience administering medication Yes I have no problem administering medication. Including injections I’m currently a stay at home mom and almost always home so your dog will never be left alone for long periods of time!! My 5 year old is great with dogs and will give your animals plenty of love and attention!!! We have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run! Your dog will be let out frequently and get plenty of exercise!! I try and take the dogs for a long walk at least once a day. Your dog will have free roam of the house, but we are more than happy to crate if you provide one. Our dogs eat in the am and pm, however we can accommodate your dogs feeding schedule.

About: I have lived with a dog my whole life. I walk, feed, and play with my 170 lbs mastiff. I also walk, feed, and play with my neighbors 3 dogs, one of which has trouble walking and getting up and down the steps. I just graduated from college and currently not working, which makes my schedule pretty free. I am open to early mornings and/ or late night walks and feeds! If the house does not have a fence I will keep a leash on at all times to help ensure the dogs safety and help prevent them from running away.

About: I have owned dogs my entire life and have taken care of family, friends and neighbors dogs for many years! I work from home so I have plenty of time to spend with your babies. I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule! Getting out to walk throughout the day helps break up the day for me and your pup! I have a fenced in backyard and a 3 year old lab! I have a 5ft x 8ft kennel indoors and also have a few various size crates that I can use or you can bring your own! Dogs would only be crated/in the kennel to sleep (if needed) or if I am not home.

About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am a Graduate student, but I manage to take six- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.
About: I owned a dog for 13 years before she passed away, I was in charge of feeding her and I would take care of her while my parents were gone. I also have watched cats several times while they’re owners are away. I work 2 part time jobs, so weekday care might look differently than the weekend, but I am always willing to try and fit watching your pet into it my schedule! When I had my own dog I would feed and give water to her everyday, take her out to potty multiple times a day, take her on walks, and play. With cats, I always make sure they’re fed and have water, litter box is clean, and if they would like to play I play with them!

“Boarding with Ellen was outstanding. We had a family emergency that made taking our large dog with us impossible. He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”
