About: 13 years experience in animal welfare. I was a previous animal control officer and also work in the animal shelter as an animal care technician. I have an abundance of animal care knowledge and love for animals. I’m currently unemployed as I just moved to the area and waiting to start working at a new shelter, so I have plenty of free times As someone who was a previous animal control officer, I always make sure animals are in a safe environment since they would be in my care
About: Hi my name is Fran. I’m a mostly stay at home Mom in Mt. Airy with a 3 year old and 6 year old and 1 year old. We live on 5 acres, all fenced, across from the state park and in addition to 2 dogs have horses, chickens, and an outside cat. Both me and my husband have owned dogs all our lives, and experienced in animal care. Professionally, I’ve worked as a barn manager, dog groomer, dog walker, trainer, and dog handler for an Iditarod musher! I’ve been pet sitting since I was 10 years old and absolutely love it!!!! I care greatly about dogs and make sure that they are well taken care of with plenty of love and exercise. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all of my life. As a little kid my childhood dog was my constant companion and when I wasn't with him I was with the neighbors' dogs. In my twenties I moved to Alaska where I pursued a career in dog mushing and for two years lived with 120 dogs! Unfortunately due to frostbite I had to move back to the east coast. Meet my pets I have 2 dogs, Cash a one year old Australian Shepherd and Littles a 15 year old Boston terrier mix. Both love to play!! Cash is still a puppy and will play all day long!! He loves every dog he meets. Littles is 15 and recently lost his sight He’ll try to keep up with Cash but mostly just loves to sleep. I also have 2 horses, Shadow and Dandy (the love of my life) in their late twenties, some chickens, and a barn cat. About my yard I live on five acres across from Patuxent State Park. We have a huge fenced in backyard, with lots of trails in walking distance! My experience administering medication Yes I have no problem administering medication. Including injections I’m currently a stay at home mom and almost always home so your dog will never be left alone for long periods of time!! My 5 year old is great with dogs and will give your animals plenty of love and attention!!! We have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run! Your dog will be let out frequently and get plenty of exercise!! I try and take the dogs for a long walk at least once a day. Your dog will have free roam of the house, but we are more than happy to crate if you provide one. Our dogs eat in the am and pm, however we can accommodate your dogs feeding schedule.
“We love Jessica! It was our first time leaving our senior dog for the weekend and I was nervous. Jessica is genuinely nice and excellent with our pets. Communication was great and she sends pictures every time which really eased my mom heart. We have already booked her again!”
“Kaylie did a great job. Loved the information after each visit and especially the dog pictures. Thank you for taking time out of your Christmas holiday to care for our fur babies!”
“Lin took great care of my cat Pepper while I was out of town. She gave Pepper lots of attention on every visit. Lin even got her to take her medication on schedule. I am very happy with how well she took care of Pepper.”

About: I grew up on a farm so I have had animals of all sorts since I was little. I ran an equine boarding facility for 2 and a 1/2 years caring for up to 25 horses at a time. I am currently halfway through my degree to become a vet technician. My husband and I own 3 horses 2 dogs 4 cats and and 4 fish. I love taking our dogs for walks and hiking. Our cats enjoy playing with toy mice, the laser point, and eating treats 😋 We foster cats, so I have dealt with cats of all shapes and sizes! I also have worked with dogs that have a more aggressive/cautious personality. I am willing to work with them as well! Your animals will be in great hands! 😊 I currently work part-time so late morning to late afternoons are the best! My classes are in the evening and we take our dogs on walk in the morning before my husband goes to work. Midday walks and dropins are perfect! We have about 1/2 an acre fenced in backyard that our dogs love playing in and our cats love to play with toy mice, the laser pointer, and eating treats! One of our dogs is older so I am completely comfortable with older dogs and puppies! Since we foster cats and kittens I am familiar with cats of all shapes and sizes!

About: I've had experience with an array of animals, including puppies, senior dogs, and cats. I'm able to handle high-energy dogs and to give them the exercise they need. I currently also co-parent a senior cat who requires medication morning and night. I'm consistent and can handle medication resistant pets with gentle care. My schedule is currently very open this summer as a full-time art student, so I can dedicate as much time as needed to pets. I understand that the needs of each animal are different! I have watched over a dog that needed to be crated. I take about 4 to 5 walks depending on how long I'm watching a dog.

About: I have a medium sized boxer and used to have a large boxer. While I don’t have dog sitting experience, I love dogs (especially big dogs) I am a full time student, graduating in May. So while I am very busy, my schedule will open up. I have off on tuesdays and a short day on mondays that are both open pets, along with the weekends! I have an electric fence for my dog, we feed her twice a day and let her out as often as possible. We recently started letting her stay home without being in the crate. But I am willing to care for your dog however you would like!
“Samantha is a great dog-sitter! She was prompt, attentive, kind, and great with our pups! She was even great with our “problem child” dog who is nervous around new people. I wouldn’t hesitate to rehire her and would recommend her to anyone who values a dog-sitter who cares, follows directions, and who is great with pets! Thank you Samantha!!”

“Logan, once again, does an absolute amazing job with the pups! He is very attentive, persistent, and great with our dogs! Will always recommend him for any dog sitting/Drop in visits. Thanks Logan!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for family and friends for the past 3 years, but I have been taking care of dogs for my whole life. I have experience with dog training as I trained dogs for dog shows. I don’t mind cleaning up and keeping the space tidy. I also love sending cute pictures of your babies when they’re under my care. I’m currently a college student, but over the summer I do research twice a week, so I am free most weekdays and weekends. I have plenty of time to do dog walks or spend a day with your pet while you are out. For multiple days, it depends on the dates and how long I can be away from your pet (ex. A cat) if it’s on a day I have to work my lab. I like to follow the instructions clients give me precisely and appreciate receiving detailed instructions. I love hanging out with your pets and playing with them. I like to keep their daily routine as close to their normal as I can, keeping them healthy and happy.
“Kayla took excellent care of our 2 dogs and cat! She sent daily visit updates and photos of the animals daily. We loved seeing how happy they were each day! We will be using Kayla again and would highly recommend her for your pet care needs.”

“Nora did a drop-in visit for me this evening. Great communication, sent pictures of her with the dogs in the back yard. Looking forward to having her take care of them in the future!”
“Super duper dogwatch trooper! Provided regular updates and timely pics. Great attention to detail, remembering little quirks I told her about our dog. I’d say even nicer things, but I’d rather keep her a secret ;)”

About: As a life long dog parent and animal lover, I know what owners look for when getting a sitter; someone who is attentive, caring, and responsible. I have almost a decade of experience pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors alike! Growing up with a veterinarian for an uncle also helped me acquire extra knowledge for those “in case of emergency” moments. I work at an elementary school and am used to watching other peoples kids throughout the day. Pet sitting usually involves a bit less talking back, not as much noise at lunch, and about the same amount of running around. But my philosophy is to lead with love and always and everything can be done with a bit of fun. I am available overnight every day! Monday-Thursday: 4 am-7am, 4pm-9pm Friday: 4am-7am, 4pm-all night Saturday: All day, All night Sunday: All day-8pm I will treat your home as well as I will treat your fur babies, and that is incredibly well! I pinkie promise I will treat your pets as if they’re my own. Pinkie promises are sacred to me.
About: I have about 2 years of experience caring for pets for friends and family, including feeding, cleaning, and spending quality time with them. I’m especially comfortable with cats and calm, low-maintenance pets, and I make sure they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I’m patient, attentive, and good at following specific care instructions, whether that’s feeding schedules, medications, or just giving pets the attention they need. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to check in on pets throughout the day. I can also spend full days, I’m able to do morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on what the pet needs. I’m also comfortable sticking closely to feeding, walking, and medication schedules so pets stay on their normal routine as much as possible. Weekly, I can commit to recurring care or one-time bookings depending on availability. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and respect for the space. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter box care, medications, and any special needs. I always pay attention to body language and behavior to make sure pets feel comfortable and stress-free. I keep the environment calm and consistent, making sure pets have fresh water, clean spaces, and attention based on their personality whether that means playtime, affection, or giving them space. I also make sure doors, windows, and litter areas are secure and clean before leaving. My goal is to make pets feel safe and cared for while giving owners peace of mind.
“Very good - Jessie was flexible when weather changed our plans and provided good updates. Our dog just wanted to lie in bed, but Jessie tried to coax her into some exercise and was willing to stay the full 30 minutes.”

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am currently on summer break from graduate school, but I take five- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. I have a nine-year-old mixed breed dog who enjoys her daily walks and sunbathing on the deck, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs very much.
Mount Airy dog parents share their Rover experiences
I cannot say enough good things about our pet sitter! Summer is a genuine animal lover and took excellent care of my two cats (Tigger & Hurricane) and my bearded dragon (Thorn) while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that my pets were in such capable hands. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about each animal’s individual needs. Tigger & Hurricane were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I returned, and Thorn received wonderful care as well—which can be especially important when caring for reptiles with specific feeding and habitat needs. I also appreciated the updates and communication throughout my trip. It was obvious that my pets were receiving lots of attention and care, and I never had to worry about how things were going at home. Summer also has a wonderful, friendly personality, and I would absolutely trust her with my pets again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and knowledgeable pet sitter. Five stars all the way!

Leslie was awesome! She was able to come help us with short notice and even made the time to come by and meet our pup before dropping in on him. We could tell he felt comfortable with her right away and had a great time playing in the yard. We would definitely hire Leslie again to drop in our dog.
