“Jerry did an awesome job taking care of Oreo for the past few days. He was very accommodating and communicated daily with status updates and pictures. From what I could see in the pics Oreo had a blast and was well taken care of! Highly recommended!”

“Just picked up my pups from staying with Alex for the weekend. They had a great weekend playing with Reese. Alex sent us pics of them and they were so relaxed and happy. They look forward to staying again!!!”

“Cassidy did a great job with watching my pup for the first time. My pup had some accidents from being in a new home despite being fully potty trained, and Cassidy handled it with patience and grace. She also communicated well through text. I would definitely book again.”

“Elisha took great care of Wilson and Blossom. She was very patient with them. She even trained some new behaviors. She sent daily reports and pictures. I would totally recommend her to my friends. I would use her services again Great care was taken with our babies.”

“Virgina watched my retired guide dog Harry in her home while I was traveling for business. She made sure everyone would get along beforehand and took time to meet and talk with me. This was the first time Harry was staying with someone he didn't know and I was worried he'd be anxious. He had a good time with her senior dog Chip. I'll likely book with her again.”

“Jason is absolutely wonderful! He boarded my German Shepherd recently and I couldn't be happier with the care she received. He was incredibly attentive to her needs and kept me updated with frequent photos and videos, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear she was in great hands and being treated like family. I highly recommend Jason to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“Long and his family took excellent care of our dog for the long weekend. They treated him as part of the family, took him on adventures, played ball, and gave him lots of cuddles. We're super grateful for making him feel at home!”

“Thank you so much for taking great care of Webster! His second trip to your home was successful. Thank you for keeping me informed while I was traveling. He was quite pooped when I brought him home so he’s catching up on his Zzzz. We look forward to mommy’s next trip 💕”

“Odessa was great! This was my very first time using Rover and the first time ever going on a week-long vacation and leaving my dog with someone, so I was super nervous. Odessa was very reassuring. She sent updates and photos of Rozay, which eased my mind and made me feel so much better as the days went by. I would definitely recommend her and will be booking her on my next trip.”

“Will and Adriele were amazing!! They sent lots of updates while I was away, and I could tell that my pup was very comfortable and having a fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Auana was excellent! My puppy was in great hands, she is super responsive and gave me updates throughout my dog’s stay with her. Her willingness to follow my dog’s care plan was extra comforting. Will be booking her again!”

“Robin promptly responded to all requests and provided a great experience for our Addie. Clearly comfortable working with dogs, has ample space indoors and outdoors for play. This was our first time and was great experience.”

“Our two dogs loved it at Morgan's! The photos of them during the stay were much appreciated and helped put our minds at ease knowing they were well looked after. Would highly recommend!!”

“This is the second time we have left our pup with Katie & her husband. They were extremely accommodating and trustworthy, agreeing to get our dog from our house while we were away. I looked forward to my detailed daily updates from Katie, complete with pictures. We will definitely trust them with our dog again & again!”

“Karen and Patrick are the best! We felt so comfortable leaving our dog with them and the pictures they sent showed that he was having a wonderful time. We will definitely use them again!”

“Erin was fantastic! My dog is only 5 pounds and can easily slip out of the front door when someone is at the door. Erin was VERY consciences of my concerns and I was very comfortable with her visit even though this was our first time boarding with Erin. You are in good hands with Erin!”

Jasmine has excellent daily communication! It was clear from the beginning that Jasmine cared deeply for my dog and soothed his anxiety. She accommodated my dog, who's never been crated, and kept him separated from other dogs in her home. We're excited to bring our dog to Jasmine for all of our future vacations. We know it will be a fun time as well for him when he stays at Jasmine's house.

Jerry took good care of my Morkie Cody! He followed all my requests for his care and kept me updated with frequent photos, so I could have peace of mind and truly enjoy my family vacation. I would recommend Jerry if you are looking for a reliable pet sitter for your pet.

I can’t say enough about how awesome Hao was taking care of Bruno. The communication daily was great as well as the pictures. She made us feel really comfortable and safe that our Bruno was in good hands. If you’re considering a dog sitter i strongly recommend her. Thank you so much!!

Sarah was amazing with Ozzy! He had an unexpected sore spot days before his boarding, she took it in stride, applied medication and made sure he didn’t mess with it. She provided daily updates with photos and videos and texts on how he was doing. My only hesitation with leaving a 5star review is that she’ll be booked the next time we need a sitter! Thank you Sarah!!

Highly recommend Vanessa! Very responsive during before sitting my dog and was very flexible about the timing of dropping her off. During her care I thought I might have to delay picking up my dog or having her stay an extra night and Vanessa was more than willing to accommodate my needs. Would stay with her again!

Katherine was wonderful to work with and took great care of my dog during a 10-night stay. She was able to accommodate a last-minute booking request, which I greatly appreciated. My dog returned happy, healthy, and well cared for, and I felt confident that she was in good hands. Katherine was friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout the process. I would gladly book with her again and recommend her to other pet parents looking for a reliable sitter.
Charles did a fantastic job caring for Zeus while he stayed at his home. From the moment I dropped Zeus off, I felt confident he was in good hands. Charles was kind, responsible, and clearly loves dogs. Zeus came home happy, healthy, and well cared for. I truly appreciated the great care and attention Charles provided, and I've already booked with him again! Highly recommended! 🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
