“I am a new client and I am so excited that I found Claudia. It feels so good to have someone like Claudia to watch my fur baby. I am planning a few trips for this year and will be sending Buddyboy to her. I highly recommend Claudia.”

“Qingbo was a wonderful sitter for my pup! He loved her. She kept a consistent routine of walks, feeding, sleep, and meds. I appreciated her regular communication and updates with pictures and videos. Drop off and pick up was smooth. Great experience and I will be booking again!”

“We had a wonderful experience…as always! This was Saint’s first overnight stay, and we felt completely at ease while we were in Mexico. We received updates, Saint was well cared for, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable. We came home to a healthy, happy puppy. We would absolutely trust her with Saint again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter! 🐶❤️”

“Outstanding. Highly recommend. I left my two doggies with Lorenzo when I had to go out of town. They came home happy and tired, which is the sign of a great time. He communicated regularly and sent lots of pictures (which I had asked for). Their big yard was fantastic for my energetic Australian Shepherd/Poodle mixes and I had absolutely no concerns about them while I was away.”

“Nichole was great with Cody! Cody is an older dog, and she was so wonderful in looking out for him and his additional needs. We felt comfortable leaving him with her, and we were thrilled to hear that Cody and Prissy got along so well! It was a great match, and we will definitely book with Nichole again in the future.”

“Fredis and his family made sure Max was comfy and got plenty of cuddles! Fredis sent pics and updates every day and was super communicative. I highly recommend Fredis to care for your pup!”

“The A in Aviah means Amazing. She was truly exceptional. Talk about a rover sitter who communicates and not only with words, but pictures and videos too. To be honest we were skeptical, a little worried at first but after drop off our concerns dissipated quickly as she provided so many updates, was warm, very professional and seem to truly love dogs. Our dogs were happy to see us at pick up but we also knew they had a wonderful time with her and we will definitely use her as our preferred sitter in the future. She Definitely comes HIGHLY recommended.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Jessup
We absolutely loved having Jingru watch Gamja. He’s almost 2 years old and has a lot of energy, so it gave us so much peace of mind knowing he had her dog, Kai, there to play with. From all the photos and videos Jingru sent, it was obvious Gamja and Kai got along really well and had such a fun time together. She also sent us lots of updates from his multiple walks, and you could genuinely tell how much love and attention she and her husband gave him. Gamja became so fond of Jingru and her husband that when it was time to leave, he did something he has never done before—he actually protested getting into the car and kept turning his head back to see if Jingru, her husband, and Kai were coming with us. That honestly told us everything we needed to know about how happy and comfortable he was there. We joked that they might have taken better care of our dog than we do sometimes 😂. It truly felt like a little “dog-cation” for our furry son. We were able to travel with zero guilt because we knew he was having just as much fun as we were, or honestly maybe even more. Between all the walks, attention, and playtime with Kai, he came home completely happy and exhausted and slept so well. We’re genuinely so grateful for the care they gave Gamja and would absolutely trust Jingru with him again.

Lynn was wonderful with our 1 year old puppy while we were away on vacation for a week. She was communicative, sent numerous videos and pictures throughout the day, and took great care of Scarlett! Lynn took her on walks during the day, was attentive to her and made sure she was eating and drinking. I also love that Lynn has a fenced in yard for the dogs to run around. We will definitely be using her again in the future!

Alejandra and her husband have been the most incredible sitters I’ve trusted my Aussie with on Rover. Besides providing a comfortable environment with plenty of supervision, water, and attention, they took my high-energy girl on walks, hikes, beach trips, and other outings, treated her to pup cups, and brought her to dog parks while ensuring safety and peace-of-mind. (All within a single week!) With a lot of sitters, you worry about what weird behaviors or minor health problems your dog might bring home. I had no worries with Alejandra. She is moving significantly farther away from my location in the near future, and the fact that I’m going to ask her to pet-sit again just goes to show how impressed I was.

I truly can’t say enough great things about this experience! From the very beginning, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly compassionate—it was clear that caring for animals isn’t just something she does, it’s something she genuinely loves. Leaving Ralph can sometimes be a little nerve-wracking, but she immediately put me at ease and made me feel completely confident that he was in the best hands. Her communication was outstanding—she kept me consistently updated with thoughtful messages, pictures, and little check-ins that really meant a lot. I loved being able to see Ralph happy, relaxed, and fully himself while I was away. It gave me such peace of mind. What stood out most was how engaged she was with him. Ralph got plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise, and it showed—he came back happy, well cared for, and clearly loved on. She didn’t just “watch” him, she truly cared for him like he was her own. I would 1000% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet with genuine care, attention, and love. Ralph and I are both so grateful!

Lyn and her family are the absolute best! We have been taking our fur babies to Lyn for a few years now and they are always so well taken care of as if they are their own. This most recent time we had several cancelled flights due to a snowstorm and had to add on additional days last minute and they were so flexible and kind with letting our boys stay there and making sure they were good.

Kayla and David were amazing! They took our dogs in at the last minute and made everything so easy. I really appreciated the updates. It gave me peace of mind knowing the dogs were happy and cared for. They treated them like family, and our pups felt right at home. I can tell they had a wonderful time. Highly recommend Kayla and David for anyone needing loving, reliable pet sitters!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
