“Lorna was great with my fur baby. He is a puppy, so he is still a little hyper, but that did not bother her at all. She sent me updates and pictures and in the pictures, he was doing the same things he does at home so, I know he felt welcomed at her home.”

“Jasmine was fantastic with our two dogs for 10 days over Christmas! Daily walks and pictures were sent to us. I felt so at peace knowing they were being well taken care of. When our flight times coming home got changed, Jasmine was so understanding and flexible with our pickup. Great experience, highly recommended!”

“Jessica is the best! She not only shares daily photos, she maintains constant communication. We have found our forever person! Can’t wait to rebook with her again soon.”

“Jasmine was very accommodating so that we could meet before the booking, even though it was a bit of a last-minute for a holiday weekend. Cucumber immediately became comfortable with Jasmine and her home. Jasmine send us a bunch of pics of our baby and made us feel very comfortable leaving Cucumber for longer than she's ever been away before. I absolutely would recommend Jasmine!”

“Aviah was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable leaving my Toby with her from our initial meeting. It was evident that she is experienced with dogs and really cares about your pet. Each day I received a status update along with a video and picture. I was able to truly enjoy my vacation knowing the he was in great hands. I strongly recommend her if you want peace of mind!”

“Theresa took care of my pup Aspen for the first time this week. Prior to her caring for Aspen for 2 overnights we did a meet & greet which provided both of us with all the information we needed to feel comfortable having Aspen stay with her while I worked. Theresa was very communicative and responded quickly to texts as well as sent me pictures of Aspen. I feel like Aspen was well cared for and enjoyed her time with Theresa and I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Shantia was great! She let me come by for a meet and greet before I boarded my dog. She was also so incredibly patient and kind when I ended up being late to drop off due to a car issue. Her husband had to take Calamity for her due to how late I was, and he was kind enough to ask if Cal had eaten already (she had not!) and made sure she got her food. Communication on my end was sparse due to how busy things were, but Shantia responded immediately when I did message.”

About: I’m a proud dog parent to Moonie, my very smart 3 year old Maltipoo, and I also live with a 4 year old Pomeranian — so yes, my house is basically dog approved. I love walks, dog parks, treats, and teaching Moonie new tricks. I’ll treat your pup like family, with lots of love, patience, and probably a few compliments ❤️🥰💕 I work in the office some days, but I’m mostly remote and home with the pups. There’s always time for potty breaks, playtime, little backyard zoomies, and cuddle breaks.. so basically, the dogs have a better schedule than we do 😂 I live in a townhouse with a small backyard — perfect for quick potty breaks or a little zoomies session. My neighborhood is safe and great for walks. I always clean paws after potty breaks, keep fresh pee pads available and changed daily, and yes… dogs are allowed on the furniture.
“Always amazing to have Nekia keep Jackson. He is like part of the family and I would continue to go back. She’s flexible, considerate, provides feedback and tips that she notices about Jackson’s behavior and well being. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Crystal was wonderful looking after our two small dogs! She gave them lots of attention and took great care administering medications for our elder one. Her frequent updates and communication were great! We received photos and videos of their day. Our “kids” are exhausted, in a good way. I’m pretty sure they’d have been happy to stay. We’re thankful for all of Crystal’s care and love! Knowing they’re in good hands makes our time away a little easier.”

“Derek was very patient with Kit and made sure to take time with her. He also sent pictures of her to show that she was getting comfortable. I appreciate his promptness in getting back to me as well. He is very responsive and answers all questions.”

“Priscilla took great care of Finn,I went out of town in peace knowing that he in good hand, the pictures she sent shows that he’s having a good time. This is the second time Finn stay with Priscilla,I wish she could take care of Finn every time we need to go out of town.”

About: Hi! I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have cared for all kinds of pets over the years. Growing up, my family always had dogs, so I learned early on how to handle everything from playful puppies to senior dogs who needed a little extra attention. As an adult, I’ve personally owned small caged pets and currently own 2 cats, giving me a well-rounded understanding of different animal personalities and care needs. I currently share my home with two adopted cats, each with their own unique story and background. With patience and care, I was able to successfully introduce them to each other despite their age difference and differing temperaments—it was so rewarding and relieving to see them become friends! I understand that every pet is unique and deserves compassionate, individualized care, and I treat every animal I meet like one of my own. I currently work a full time job with the military during the week, but am home early in the afternoon to provide care, comfort, and cuddles to my furry friends and yours! I have a spacious apartment with lots of toys and 2 friendly cats to keep tour furry friend company. Walking around my neighborhood is a breeze with pet pickup spots along the way and a safe environment for walks no matter what time.
“Everything was great! She took such a great care of my 3dogs including a puppy and daily pictures and video clip helped us a lot! I will bring my dogs to Shuling again!!”

“This was the first time Ginger boarded with James and we couldn’t be happier with how it went. We received detailed notes, photos and videos of our girl while we were away. He was able to accommodate the special chicken and rice diet and medications easily. When the weather turned especially cold, James even put a cozy sweater on Ginger. Ginger was clearly happy, well cared for and got along well with Xena and Rogue too.”

“They were very professional in knowledge of introducing my girl to their family and pets. Very loving home and pet oriented family. Sophie loved being with all your family. P.S. - A little scared she night wanna stay with you and not come home. LOL!”

“We booked with her on short notice, and she did a great job. She kept me updated with pictures, was very caring, and made a real effort to get my picky dog to eat. I really appreciated the communication and attention she gave him. I’d definitely recommend her and would book with her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Meade
Ava responded quickly to a last-minute request to watch Storm and immediately put our minds at ease. She kept us updated throughout his stay with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. Storm was well cared for, and we would book with her again. Highly recommend!

Heather and her kids are great with our dog. This is our second booking with Heather and we really recommend her. Heather communicates fast, and pays attention to details. Our dog got sick while in her house and she kept us informed all the time while also talking to Rover's Vet. We are thankful for her care and love for Nina.

I cannot thank you enough for what you went through and watching my dogs. Your care and concern, communication and action went above and beyond anything I could’ve expected. You are an amazing person and I thank you very much for helping me with my most precious cargo. Any and every time I fly out of BWI, you can rest assured I will be asking you to watch my dog.

Amanda was excellent! Azula usually has separation anxiety but warmed up instantly to her and Loki. She also kept me updated throughout Azula's stay with texts, pictures and videos, so I never felt out of the loop. Azula even tried to give her a kiss as we were leaving (She's usually in a rush to get back home)! I couldn't recommend Amanda enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
