“Nekia and her family are awesome! Tarzan had the best time with them. Great communication and took very good care of our dog. Would definitely recommend and will be returning”

“I couldn’t have asked for better care for our dog, Frankie, while we were away! He was loved on, spoiled and well cared for and I know he enjoyed his stay during HIS little vacation! Theresa was amazing at communicating and sending photos all weekend which really helped put me at ease. We are looking forward to Frankie’s next vacation at Theresa’s!”

“Ahhhmazing!!! Michelle will absolutely be our go to dog sitter! Oliver is still a puppy so he is high energy and still working on his potty training. This was our first time using rover and his first time away from us. Michelle took care of him above and beyond our expectations! She sent us model pictures of him daily (much better than he lets us take of him, so we have new profile pics of him, lol!) She provided daily updates with the pics too, all of which gave us complete peace of mind! We couldn’t have had a better experience and that made our vacation that much more relaxing. We are extremely thankful to Michelle for treating Oliver like her own! 😊”

“Eli was awesome! My dog is somewhat shy but she took to Eli right away. Eli picked my furbaby up and once he was back to his home he sent a picture of my pooch and where she had her kennel setup. Skittles was able sit and stare out the windows, which she loves to do. I received plenty of pictures to put me at ease. Eli also had a camera setup so I could see my dog if I wanted!!! I’m super happy with Eli as he was on time for pickup and drop off and overall is a very nice person! I will definitely board my dog with Eli again!!!!”

“Tanya was excellent with my girl Xena. Xena takes some time to warm up to people, and Tanya was excellent making sure she was comfortable in her home while she adjusted. Tanya gave me regular photo and video updates while I was away, I had no worries, and knew she was in excellent hands. 110% would use Tanya again for boarding.”

“Fabulous! Thank you! Chester (our adrenaline junkie border collie) is tired and had a great time with Gryph! Nice big backyard - easy to park and drop off. We’ll be back!”

“Derek was very patient with Kit and made sure to take time with her. He also sent pictures of her to show that she was getting comfortable. I appreciate his promptness in getting back to me as well. He is very responsive and answers all questions.”

“Crystal was amazing. I can totally tell my little baby Rio felt comfortable in her presence. I appreciate her love for my baby and how much she communicated! She sent photos and videos daily and informed me of how he was doing. I would absolutely hire Crystal for her services and recommend her to anyone.”

“Liz and Jeff C provided outstanding and caring support and boarding for my senior Samoyed Sooki. There is not enough space here to describe everything they did to support Sooki and our family. Sooki has substantial and sometimes unpredictable health challenges. Liz, Jeff , and their sons provided EVERYTHING Sooki needed and more.”

“Jasmine was able to fit us in last minute. She was great with our golden retriever. We received updates and our pup was calm and happy when we picked her up. Will use her services again!”

“Priscilla took care of my baby Oui for 7days who has separation anxiety, and she was so loving and caring. I woke up with a bunch of images of Oui every morning?she has many experiences with different dogs, and she gives me many advises on how to raise a puppy!!! Both Oui and I love herrr❤️”

“Mylo has a really great time each time he goes there. When I drop him off he’s always excited to see the family and when I get him he’s so tired which is such a plus for me, which means more nap time when he gets home :). I have no complaints when Mylo goes to Fredis!”
“Fantastic - Amazing - Wonderful! Yukia was a great communicator from the start. We talked before we brought our rascal over. We even did a meet and greet just to make sure he would take to her - and he sure did! During our trip she sent daily photos and updates, and our kids could not wait to get them every day. I could tell when I went to pick him up that he was very happy to be with her. For a quick moment he could not decide if he wanted to stay with her or come back home. It was his first time with someone else and she obviously took great care of him. There is no doubt that we have found our pet sitter for good!”

About: I’m a proud dog parent to Moonie, my very smart 3 year old Maltipoo, and I also live with a 4 year old Pomeranian — so yes, my house is basically dog approved. I love walks, dog parks, treats, and teaching Moonie new tricks. I’ll treat your pup like family, with lots of love, patience, and probably a few compliments ❤️🥰💕 I work in the office some days, but I’m mostly remote and home with the pups. There’s always time for potty breaks, playtime, little backyard zoomies, and cuddle breaks.. so basically, the dogs have a better schedule than we do 😂 I live in a townhouse with a small backyard — perfect for quick potty breaks or a little zoomies session. My neighborhood is safe and great for walks. I always clean paws after potty breaks, keep fresh pee pads available and changed daily, and yes… dogs are allowed on the furniture.
“Justin was easy to communicate with and accommodated my particular pick-up and drop-off needs. He shared photos of Peyton getting acclimated and kept me updated when necessary. I would highly recommend Justin (and Diesel!) for an overnight stay or playdate.”

“Hank had another wonderful vacation staying with Carlie and her family! It is so nice to leave him with someone I know treats him like he is her own - I seriously cannot recommend Carlie enough!!!”

I cannot thank you enough for what you went through and watching my dogs. Your care and concern, communication and action went above and beyond anything I could’ve expected. You are an amazing person and I thank you very much for helping me with my most precious cargo. Any and every time I fly out of BWI, you can rest assured I will be asking you to watch my dog.

Amanda was excellent! Azula usually has separation anxiety but warmed up instantly to her and Loki. She also kept me updated throughout Azula's stay with texts, pictures and videos, so I never felt out of the loop. Azula even tried to give her a kiss as we were leaving (She's usually in a rush to get back home)! I couldn't recommend Amanda enough!

Samantha took care of my Boston Terrier, Seamus, for the second time, and once again she was fantastic. It’s clear she genuinely cares—Seamus was treated with so much love and attention. I really appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos, which made it easy to relax knowing he was in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with Samantha again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.

Regina took very good care of Charlie. She spoiled him by walking him more than I do. She sent daily pictures which let me know he is doing well. I am thankful she was available last minute. Charlie has a sensitive stomach and he usually returns home sick, but Regina followed through with his diet and he did not return sick. I will definitely use her services again. I highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
