“Megan was great! We enjoyed getting photo and video updates. She made our dog feel right at home and helped our dog get more comfortable with being around other dogs.”

“Julijai & Alejandra & Eduardo & Luis C We’re amazing! They were so sweet with our pup and truly treated her as their own. Can’t wait to have her stay again!”

“Cal and Kelly took such good care of my puppy! They sent lots of photos and videos, and when I picked her up, she was clearly feeling great! She came home happy and healthy. Excellent experience all around! I’ll be back!”

“My pup lived them. They kept me updated regarding when my dog ate, and walked. Would highly recommend. Only con is their location but its still easy to get to. Otherwise amazing service!”

“Sherrie was wonderful with my Echo! She provided photos of him each day, and she handled whatever he threw her way (both literally and figuratively). She was so patient with him, and her experience with dogs shows. She is an excellent choice for a sitter.”

“I am sooooo happy that I found Ashley! She's amazing with Gracie and I am fully at ease while traveling knowing that she is being well taken care of. She keeps me updated daily and I so appreciate that she does it without me having to ask. Ashley is now my go-to sitter!!”

“Luisa was incredible with our pup who was staying with her for the very first time. From the consistent updates (photo AND video) to the text updates of how he was managing, she let us have a full trip with a peace of mind! Could not recommend enough!”

“My dog had a wonderful stay at Kristin's place. Her house has a large, fully fenced yard that my dog was able to enjoy. Kristin is super sweet and even slept by my dog's side when she was experiencing separation anxiety during the night. Kristin's pets are all very friendly and I know my dog would love to go back. Highly recommend!”

“This was my first time using rover and having someone other then family watch Simba.I was very nervous at first. However Priscilla was fantastic. From the moment I met her I felt like I knew her. She has such a beautiful spirit and is very nice. Simba loved her. She took pictures everyday and it made me know he was in goods. Her family and her are great and I will definitely be using her again.”
“Eli is the best!! I love the care he shows Skittles. I didn’t send enough food for my dog and Eli purchased more food for my furbaby!! The videos and pictures always made me feel good that my Skittles was doing just fine!! Eli will always be my first choice to sit for my dog.”

“I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Edward and Natalia. We had a meet and greet a week prior where they asked a lot of questions and observed Ralphie with their sweet pup, Liz Lemon. I always worry leaving Ralphie with a new Rover. He has been described as “extra” and needs a lot of attention/human presence. Within an hour of dropping him off, I got a note that he is settling in fine with a picture of him cozied up with the family and this eased my mind immensely. They were very responsive when I reached out and had everything ready to go when I picked him up. The biggest testament, however, is Ralphie’s behavior on the drive home. If let’s me know if he didn’t like his stay somewhere, but leaving Natalia and Edward he was calm and well behaved. They deserve this 5-star review and j would recommend them to my friends and family without hesitation.”

“Theresa was amazing with the dogs!! She send me everyday updates and pic!! And when I pick them up they were exhausted cause they played all day long!! I will def going to leave my dogs with her again!”

“I was so happy Nichole was able to watch our dog again! When I went to drop her off, I could tell she was excited to be back. Nichole kept me updated with pictures while we were away. She was also very flexible for our drop off and pick up times. I will have her dog sit for us again in the future.”

“I can't keep track of how many times I have asked Sharon to watch our dog overnight and for daycare over the years. I have always felt safe and confident about her care for my dog. She will care for your baby as if it it were own! She also communicates quickly and effectively. I highly recommend her since it is rare to find trustworthy sitters like her. Thank you Sharon!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Laurel
This was our first time boarding our dog with Rebekah, and we had a great experience! She was very communicative, responsive, and flexible, and our dog came home happy and well cared for. We’d definitely recommend her to others and would be happy to book with her again.

Sakinah was a fantastic find! She spoiled our cats rotten, which were are in full support of. I knew she was truly someone special when she sent me pictures of our super shy cat, Zuki, laying on his back, presenting his full belly to her. (Even though he's met plenty of people, this is something he's only done for a total of seven humans over the course of six years on this planet.)

If I could leave 10 stars I would. My husband and I needed a last minute booking and Lakshme was prompt with her response. She kept us updated while being out of town and that really gave me a peace of mind. She was kind and handled my fur babies really well. 10/10 experience and I will definitely be booking in the near future.

I cannot recommend Natalia enough! I was in a last-minute bind before my graduation and had to leave town for four days with no plans in place for my sweet (but very energetic and feisty!) Pomeranian, Brownie. As soon as Natalia reached out and I met her, I immediately felt at ease. She was confident, knowledgeable, and had a thoughtful plan for introducing Brownie to her other dogs and helping everyone adjust comfortably. Throughout Brownie's stay, Natalia sent so many photos and updates that I quickly stopped worrying and was able to focus on my graduation and trip. The pictures made me laugh, and it was obvious that Brownie was having a great time and receiving lots of love and attention. Her home is incredibly pet-friendly, welcoming, and clearly a place where dogs are treated like family. Natalia is kind, patient, and genuinely cares about the pets in her care. She even sent Brownie home with one of his favorite items because he loved it so much, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Finding someone you trust with your fur baby can be difficult, but Natalia exceeded every expectation. I'm so grateful she responded to my request, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Brownie came home happy, loved, and well cared for. She is truly a gem! 🐾❤️ Thank you, Natalia!

Darren had Izzy feeling at home away from home. In my opinion he spoiled her lol!! He treated her as his own and always kept us updated on her. He was very responsive and seems so passionate about what he was doing. This was more than a sitting job for him, he made Izzy apart of his family!! We will definitely be booking him again!!

Jacqueline and her daughter were amazing! I loved receiving regular photo updates throughout my trip, and it gave me great peace of mind knowing my dog was safe and happy. She was also incredibly flexible when I had to cut my trip short. Honestly, I don't think my dog wanted to come home! I highly recommend Jacqueline and will definitely be booking with her again.

Fredis did an amazing job with our dog while we were away. We needed last minute help and when reaching out to him he was very nice and responsive! He made sure to keep us updated throughout our dog’s stay even sending the best professional quality pictures of our dog. She looked very at ease. I hope to work with Fredis again and highly recommend him!

Robert and Pam were awesome. We met them and their husky Shiloh and got a gods feeling. We booked an overnight test run and things went great. Sam got a lot of playtime outside and moped all the way home after we picked him up. He was treated like one of the family and is looking forward to returning.

I truly can’t say enough great things about this experience! From the very beginning, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly compassionate—it was clear that caring for animals isn’t just something she does, it’s something she genuinely loves. Leaving Ralph can sometimes be a little nerve-wracking, but she immediately put me at ease and made me feel completely confident that he was in the best hands. Her communication was outstanding—she kept me consistently updated with thoughtful messages, pictures, and little check-ins that really meant a lot. I loved being able to see Ralph happy, relaxed, and fully himself while I was away. It gave me such peace of mind. What stood out most was how engaged she was with him. Ralph got plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise, and it showed—he came back happy, well cared for, and clearly loved on. She didn’t just “watch” him, she truly cared for him like he was her own. I would 1000% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet with genuine care, attention, and love. Ralph and I are both so grateful!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
