“Tanya was excellent with my girl Xena. Xena takes some time to warm up to people, and Tanya was excellent making sure she was comfortable in her home while she adjusted. Tanya gave me regular photo and video updates while I was away, I had no worries, and knew she was in excellent hands. 110% would use Tanya again for boarding.”

“My Paisley had an amazing time and was well exercised and fed. She loved being with this family. She didn't even have time to miss me. I'm happy there's somewhere she'll be happy and well cared for, for future trips.”

“Katie and her husband Anthony were the perfect hosts for our Sadie girl! She had so much fun and many cuddles (her favorite). Katie was very responsive, easy to book with and schedule a meet & greet, and sent us updates every day. We definitely plan to have her care for Sadie again!”

“My pup was in great hands with Mona and I will definitely rebook with her in the future. He came back to me happy, energetic, and rejuvenated… to say the least. Also, I found Mona to be reliable and a great communicator too. She kept me in the loop in a way that I felt like I was there with them, and that put me at ease. Lastly, I was thrilled to see he made friends with Mona’s pup too. Both pups had so many similarities and such a great bond, my heart smiled. Thanks Mona!!!”

“This was my first time using rover and having someone other then family watch Simba.I was very nervous at first. However Priscilla was fantastic. From the moment I met her I felt like I knew her. She has such a beautiful spirit and is very nice. Simba loved her. She took pictures everyday and it made me know he was in goods. Her family and her are great and I will definitely be using her again.”
“Very happy with the care of our baby 😁 Jay is really picky on who he takes medications from, and Jasimine was the exception. He was comfortable enough to trust her from the beginning (first time in 3 years since he has been comfortable with anyone right off the back!) Very pleased and happy with the care he received.”

“Eli is the best!! I love the care he shows Skittles. I didn’t send enough food for my dog and Eli purchased more food for my furbaby!! The videos and pictures always made me feel good that my Skittles was doing just fine!! Eli will always be my first choice to sit for my dog.”

“Shuling was like a second mom to Wally while I was away! They treated him like he was their own and he loved playing with their dog. Shuling sent pictures and videos every day so that I felt comfortable. Looked like he was having a blast! Will definitely book again.”

About: I’ve loved and worked with animals all my life. I graduated from animal behavioral college college as a certified vet assistant. I’ve worked at animal shelters and veterinary offices. I’ve owned cats and dogs. I work from home so they’re not alone. I want a pet but can’t commit at the moment. So this is the perfect job for me as an animal lover. I get all the hugs and kisses I want. And your pet gets a new best friend. Again, the way will be spoiled. Sorry in advance! I handle all animals with care and respect. I am a certified vat assistant and trained on behaviors, emergencies, and medication administration. They’re in good hands.
“Fidel and Melissa are really excellent in handling animals. They are kind but set boundaries for the dogs they watch! Their very inciteful in offering their expertise on your animals for the betterment of their care! They have a beautiful family and are very caring people!”

“Kyury took great care of my dog. She took her on multiple walks every day and went above and beyond caring for my dog. Her communication was great and sent me pictures and updates daily while I was gone. My dog came back home very happy and tired from a fun week. I will definitely be using Kyury again!”

“Morgan was fantastic with my energetic, timid puppy! She was so accommodating with a last minute request (especially since my pup was on his final week of healing from an injury), and made sure my baby felt safe and right at home. This was his first time around children for an extended period of time, and they got along great! So happy my little guy got the attention he needed while also being exposed to new, fun experiences in a safe space.”

“Marliez took amazing care of Ozzie. He walked with her Husky Wolf several times a day receiving plenty of needed exercise. Oz was received as part of her family. I could tell from the photos he was really enjoying his stay and looking forward to go back. Marliez paid attention to the nuance of my dog's antics to adjust to him. She is a wonderful sitter”

About: I’m a proud dog parent to Moonie, my very smart 3 year old Maltipoo, and I also live with a 4 year old Pomeranian — so yes, my house is basically dog approved. I love walks, dog parks, treats, and teaching Moonie new tricks. I’ll treat your pup like family, with lots of love, patience, and probably a few compliments ❤️🥰💕 I work in the office some days, but I’m mostly remote and home with the pups. There’s always time for potty breaks, playtime, little backyard zoomies, and cuddle breaks.. so basically, the dogs have a better schedule than we do 😂 I live in a townhouse with a small backyard — perfect for quick potty breaks or a little zoomies session. My neighborhood is safe and great for walks. I always clean paws after potty breaks, keep fresh pee pads available and changed daily, and yes… dogs are allowed on the furniture.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort George G Meade
Beth and Jim and Pearl were absolutely wonderful with our mini-Bernedoodle- Nico. We appreciated the Meet + Greet to make sure that they would be a good fit for each other. They kept us up-to-date with sweet pictures and videos of Nico with Pearl. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing that he was safe, running and playing every day, and having the best time ever. It seemed like Pearl was a wonderful fit for him- playing, resting, and teaching him daily. They gave him extra love at bedtime to help him settle, and seemed to take care of him as if he was part of the family. They communicated well, were reliable, and I'm certain that Nico returned home better behaved than when we dropped him off. We highly recommend!

Shane and Brittnay make it easy to go out of town knowing that my Luna is in great hands! She has fully warmed up to them with many kisses, as she is usually shy dog at first. The family sends lots of pictures and asks questions when needed. They are very responsive and accommodating with drop off and pick up, which is so helpful! Luna comes back home tired and happy!! :)

I cannot thank you enough for what you went through and watching my dogs. Your care and concern, communication and action went above and beyond anything I could’ve expected. You are an amazing person and I thank you very much for helping me with my most precious cargo. Any and every time I fly out of BWI, you can rest assured I will be asking you to watch my dog.

Amanda was excellent! Azula usually has separation anxiety but warmed up instantly to her and Loki. She also kept me updated throughout Azula's stay with texts, pictures and videos, so I never felt out of the loop. Azula even tried to give her a kiss as we were leaving (She's usually in a rush to get back home)! I couldn't recommend Amanda enough!

Samantha took care of my Boston Terrier, Seamus, for the second time, and once again she was fantastic. It’s clear she genuinely cares—Seamus was treated with so much love and attention. I really appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos, which made it easy to relax knowing he was in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with Samantha again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
