“Clara and her wife were amazing with our Kia. Our Family went away for 9 days and were nervous leaving behind our dog who can get anxious and nervous easily but she was in great hands and it seemed she was having her own vacation making friends. We appreciate all the love they gave Kira while we were away and would happily leave Kira in their care again. Thank you so much!!”

“Liz was a phenomenal sitter. We loved her warmth and kindness. Our baby gravitated to her right away. Liz made us feel comfortable which allowed us to go away a feel extremely comfortable. She communicated throughout the entire time and ensured us that everything was going smoothly. We hope to work with Liz again!”

“Lindsey went above and beyond! This was our first rover experience and it was amazing! She sent plenty of updates to make us feel comfortable and was flexible with our flight cancellations which significantly helped us. We will definitely be using her again and would recommend her to anyone we know.”

“We’re Weimaraner owners and having big dogs can be a challenge when you’re looking for the right sitter who will meet all your dogs needs so they don’t become destructive or depressed and Robert met all of our dog’s needs on our first trip away after losing our older dog. I will be recommending Robert in the future. He went above and beyond by helping us with our plants as well.”

About: I moved away from my parents, but have been the primary care of my dog since she was a pup. I need more animal love! I've also dog sat for my grandmother and neighbors! I work as a teacher nearby, I get off work at 3:30 most days and can be over by 3:45. If it is summer time, it will be lots of time to spend! I care a lot about animals both in how I treat them, and how they are handled by me and others. Obviously you have your rules with your pets that I will follow, but I will never be aggressive, I will treat them with love and care like they are my own. I will also play a lot with them if they want, I will match the energy of your pet!
“Conor was amazing! I had never had someone stay at my house before, and this was such a good experience. My two dogs loved her, and she sent photos and updates the whole time. She was super flexible with coordinating key drop off/pick up with my late and early travel plans. When I came home the house was absolutely spotless. I would 100% recommend!”

About: I’ve always enjoyed being around animals and being able to take care of them and get to know them. I had my first pet, a hamster (Snowflake) when I was about 8 years old and after him an old family friend gave me and my family her old dog Nula a beautiful little Yorkie and after her I had a Maltese named snowball for a while who was very sweet. Now I have two dogs, a Multipoo named Henry and Rhodesian Ridgeback named Okoye they are very playful and love getting to know new people and new dogs. I also have a love for cats and have cat sat a couple of times for my friends. I also enjoy walking so having a furry friend to walk along side me is always a joy! I am currently going to school part-time so I’ll have plenty of time to spend with your furry family members, pups and kitties alike. I am available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 5pm. I have a fenced in yard and two dog friends to keep your dog or kitty company. I also have a gate inside my house so we can also keep them separate if they want some alone time from each other. If you would like for me to come sit for your fur babies at your home I also offer that service as well and will happily and diligently follow the rules and guidelines that pertain to your furry baby.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 11 years old! They’ve ranged from dogs to cats to turtles to birds and more! I’ve loved every second of it and I would be honored to care for you fur baby, too! I’m currently working remotely with great flexibility so I’m able to work around whatever you need! It gives me the ability to care for pets on your schedule! I love to learn what a typical day for your pet looks like so I can adapt to their needs! Some pets need playtime to keep them happy and engaged and some pets need a calm environment to relax in - wherever your pet falls, I’ll be ready to accommodate!
“Chandler is truly one of a kind, and I cannot recommend her enough. Leaving your puppy with someone else can be nerve-wracking, but from the moment I connected with her, I knew my pup was in the best hands possible. She went above and beyond in every way, constant updates, adorable pictures, and clear communication that gave me complete peace of mind. It wasn’t just “watching” my puppy… she genuinely cared for and loved him like he was her own. You can tell she has a natural connection with animals, and my puppy absolutely adored her. When I came back, my pup was happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of, which says everything. Chandler is reliable, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. If you’re looking for someone you can trust completely, she’s it. I would give her 10 stars if I could!”

“Samantha stayed in our home with our two girls. She updated me everyday and was a very respectful house guest! Everything was tidy and just where we had left it. The girls were happy and I doubt they missed us at all 😂. I would definitely recommend Sam!”

“Regina did an awesome job taking care of my pups! She has a naturally calming energy. I've never seen my dogs NOT bark at someone who enters our house, but with Regina, they didn't make a peep. They just jumped into her lap and made themselves at home!”

“Katherine was amazing with my girls!! She was able to do a meet and greet before our booking and ever since was very responsive and kept me update all the time. At the time of her stay she was very respectful of our home, and took amazing care of my dogs. Definitely will book again!!”

“Tabitha is WONDERFUL! My dog is very emotionally needy (has anxiety), and I needed a sitter very last minute. Tabitha came to the rescue and was so attentive with Franny and did such a good job with her! I really trust her and i can’t wait to use her again 🙂”

“Emma was so great! She always responded quickly to messages, and was very accommodating to our needs - she came over in advance so we could meet her and introduce her to our dog, and she dealt with some unconventional dog hand-offs while we were away. She also left the house just as it was. We will definitely be reaching out to her for dog-sitting needs in the future. Thank you, Emma!”

About: I’ve rescued many dogs in my life and I’ve had a lot of patience with all dog sizes from pit bulls to chihuahuas. I truly enjoy a pets company I’m back home between 1 and 4(latest) most days and have a lot of free time to take care of your pets needs and wants. I have done in home visits and take them for a walk at their necessary times as well as keeping them company and I have boarded dogs in my home making sure to keep their schedule intact and add a few more walks
About: Over the years I've helped friends, family members, and neighbors with cat & dog care, ranging from walks to playtime and feeding. I am comfortable with reinforcing good behavior and obedience training. I work remotely most days, so I'm able to arrange regular times to care for pets, whether it's a mid-day walk, feeding breakfast or dinner, or administering medications before bedtime. I make sure all pet-accessible areas remain safe and clean. I do regular checks for hazardous items and clean up any accidents. If any toys or bedding become damaged to the point that they could cause harm to a pet, I secure them away from the pet and notify the owner.
“Madeline was absolutely phenomenal; super communicative, sent me updates of how things were going, and friendly. Most importantly, my dog was well taken care of and had a great time. Madeline truly went above and beyond in every way possible.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort George G Meade
Emily is awesome! I hired her for house sitting 3 cats for a week. She didn't just take care of the cats, which had different feeding schedules and one needing medication. We came home to washed sheets, a tidy house, the mail brought in, and the trash taken out. We didn't ask for any of that! Coming back from a trip to a clean house and happy cats? Amazing. Book Emily. Seriously. We already know we will again. 🐱
Regina is such a wonderful sitter. She watched my very anxious dog for 2 weeks and I came back to a happy dog. She stayed in my home and everything was clean. She sent me photos of Sadie (my dog) daily and gave updates on her behavior as well. She even came by after just to visit and see how she was doing. I highly recommend Regina. Bonus she has military base access!

We hired Rachel to help while we were away for several days. I was nervous to leave, as my dog is very old and needs a lot of help (namely with getting up onto his hind legs). Rachel was wonderful with him and took the time (through two pre-visits) to meet Parker and understand his needs. She kept me updated every day with pictures and updates. She was also kind enough to check on our house after a huge storm rolled through the area. I highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and compassionate sitter who will treat your pet(s) like their own.

Kerri is so great with our animals and this is the second time we’ve had her watch them, and hopefully not the last. She is trustworthy and respectful of our home and we really appreciate the extra care she gives to our anxious dog. Such a great sitter and we feel so grateful to have her.

We "reserved" Ava for a trip we're taking in May. We had an opportunity for a "trial run" with her for the overnight stay Feb. 7-8. We had a meet and greet with her the weekend before our overnight. We were anxious to meet and get to know Ava. Not only were we leaving our precious Finn with someone we really didn't know, we were also leaving her in the care of our home. You know how there are people you meet for the first time and you just click? This is how we felt about Ava. From the moment she walked into our home for the meet and greet, it felt like we'd known her for quite a while--comfortable, friendly and easy going. Finn felt the same as he went right to her and was comfortable the whole time Ava was here. We left her with Finn and the house for the night, knowing both were in good hands. We were right. Finn greeted her at the door and didn't seem "sad" to see us go. We got texts from Ava and a picture to let us know all was well. When we got home, it didn't look like anyone had been here. She cared for our home as she cared for Finn. We look forward to having Ava return in May--and probably before that as well. She's wonderful!

Samantha did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Sadie, while I was away. She gave me plenty of updates, and was very responsive. I could tell that Sadie was well cared for, and I knew that she was in great hands. I will definitely be asking Samantha to take care of Sadie again in the future.

Mari did absolutely amazing job with my Bella. We were gone 13 days and I got constant updates and pictures. Bella was treated as Mari,s own baby. Bella had no issues or accidents. Our house was left spotless as well. I can't thank Mari enough for a marvelous job she did. I felt like a relative was staying with my Bella. Mari cares for animals as her own children. I highly recommend her services to all dog parents. 🐕

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort George G Meade walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort George G Meade maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort George G Meade choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
