“We had a wonderful, stress-free experience with Samantha during her week-long stay in our home. She took great care of our dog and he was completely himself when we returned. Our home was also well cared for and very clean when we returned. She kept us updated regularly with photos and messages, and we had peace of mind while traveling. Samantha is reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and professional. We would absolutely book her again!”

“Tabitha is WONDERFUL! My dog is very emotionally needy (has anxiety), and I needed a sitter very last minute. Tabitha came to the rescue and was so attentive with Franny and did such a good job with her! I really trust her and i can’t wait to use her again 🙂”

“Emma cared for our two energetic medium sized dogs in our home. They were very comfortable with her and she sent pictures throughout her stay. Very pleased and would book with Emma again.”

“Katherine is the best dog sitter we have ever had. She connected with our dog Peanut immediately. We felt very comfortable leaving Peanut with her. Katherine consistently updated us with pictures and information about our precious dog on a daily basis. It helped make our vacation special, knowing that our dog Peanut was in great hands. I will definitely use her again. She deserves a 5 star rating.”

About: I’ve always enjoyed being around animals and being able to take care of them and get to know them. I had my first pet, a hamster (Snowflake) when I was about 8 years old and after him an old family friend gave me and my family her old dog Nula a beautiful little Yorkie and after her I had a Maltese named snowball for a while who was very sweet. Now I have two dogs, a Multipoo named Henry and Rhodesian Ridgeback named Okoye they are very playful and love getting to know new people and new dogs. I also have a love for cats and have cat sat a couple of times for my friends. I also enjoy walking so having a furry friend to walk along side me is always a joy! I am currently going to school part-time so I’ll have plenty of time to spend with your furry family members, pups and kitties alike. I am available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 5pm. I have a fenced in yard and two dog friends to keep your dog or kitty company. I also have a gate inside my house so we can also keep them separate if they want some alone time from each other. If you would like for me to come sit for your fur babies at your home I also offer that service as well and will happily and diligently follow the rules and guidelines that pertain to your furry baby.
“Clara was amazing! She was prompt, professional, and even volunteered to do extra tasks to make my oversized pup's time more enjoyable as well as my return easy! Thank you so so much - would recommend to anybody with pups, large or small!”

About: I have been house/pet sitting since I worked at a veterinary hospital while in college. I am a nurse at school during the day with great availability! Summers, holidays, weekends and evenings. Again I am a nurse at school during the day so my best hours are afternoons, evenings, summer, weekends and holidays. I am also available to sit at my home. I have a secure fenced yard within a great neighborhood if your dog/dogs come to me. I am comfortable and confident with all shapes and sizes and breeds of pets.

“Jennifer did a great job watching our dogs and cat (and bunny). Even with rough weather and power outages, the animals were in good hands. Thank you for keeping them healthy, happy and entertained.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 11 years old! They’ve ranged from dogs to cats to turtles to birds and more! I’ve loved every second of it and I would be honored to care for you fur baby, too! I’m currently working remotely with great flexibility so I’m able to work around whatever you need! It gives me the ability to care for pets on your schedule! I love to learn what a typical day for your pet looks like so I can adapt to their needs! Some pets need playtime to keep them happy and engaged and some pets need a calm environment to relax in - wherever your pet falls, I’ll be ready to accommodate!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Harmans
Max was a very kind and attentive pet/house sitter to my two cats. I have an unusual set up with my cats living entirely separated and he was a trooper about it. He handled my cat's inhaler and their routine with ease. My shy cat even eventually warmed up to him and played with him. He was mindful of all my instructions and was responsive to messages I sent him while I was away. I would book him again!

Emily is awesome! I hired her for house sitting 3 cats for a week. She didn't just take care of the cats, which had different feeding schedules and one needing medication. We came home to washed sheets, a tidy house, the mail brought in, and the trash taken out. We didn't ask for any of that! Coming back from a trip to a clean house and happy cats? Amazing. Book Emily. Seriously. We already know we will again. 🐱
We hired Rachel to help while we were away for several days. I was nervous to leave, as my dog is very old and needs a lot of help (namely with getting up onto his hind legs). Rachel was wonderful with him and took the time (through two pre-visits) to meet Parker and understand his needs. She kept me updated every day with pictures and updates. She was also kind enough to check on our house after a huge storm rolled through the area. I highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and compassionate sitter who will treat your pet(s) like their own.

Kerri is so great with our animals and this is the second time we’ve had her watch them, and hopefully not the last. She is trustworthy and respectful of our home and we really appreciate the extra care she gives to our anxious dog. Such a great sitter and we feel so grateful to have her.

Very grateful for Heather’s help while we had to go take care of a property overseas after a wildfire. Heather was very professional, friendly, responsible and kind. I loved that she was communicative and kept us up to date on everything while house sitting. Koda took to her right away and the whole experience made it very easy for us to not worry about what was going on at home and focus on what we needed to get done while away. Would definitely hire her again in the future!!

Mari did absolutely amazing job with my Bella. We were gone 13 days and I got constant updates and pictures. Bella was treated as Mari,s own baby. Bella had no issues or accidents. Our house was left spotless as well. I can't thank Mari enough for a marvelous job she did. I felt like a relative was staying with my Bella. Mari cares for animals as her own children. I highly recommend her services to all dog parents. 🐕

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 8,990 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Harmans. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harmans walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harmans maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harmans choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
