I make sure they have fresh food and water, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. We "reserved" Ava for a trip we're taking in May. We had an opportunity for a "trial run" with her for the overnight stay Feb. 7-8. We had a meet and greet with her the weekend before our overnight. We were anxious to meet and get to know Ava. Not only were we leaving our precious Finn with someone we really didn't know, we were also leaving her in the care of our home. You know how there are people you meet for the first time and you just click? This is how we felt about Ava. From the moment she walked into our home for the meet and greet, it felt like we'd known her for quite a while--comfortable, friendly and easy going. Finn felt the same as he went right to her and was comfortable the whole time Ava was here. We left her with Finn and the house for the night, knowing both were in good hands. We were right. Finn greeted her at the door and didn't seem "sad" to see us go. We got texts from Ava and a picture to let us know all was well. When we got home, it didn't look like anyone had been here. She cared for our home as she cared for Finn. We look forward to having Ava return in May--and probably before that as well. She's wonderful!
