Corinne was great with my three cats. Two of them are very affectionate and need a lot of love. The third is really shy. Cornnie spent a lot of time with the needy ones and had calm energy for the shy one. My shy cat actually ended up headbutting her by the end of the week and he has never done that with a sitter before! We will be booking with Cornnie again.

I'm so glad that Majdoline was able to watch my dog and house-sit over the weekend. She was very quick to respond to any messages and gave several updates throughout the day with a ton of pictures, I never had to worry about a thing. She spent lots of time both giving my dog attention and letting her run around and play in the yard. She left everything in the house very neat and clean as well. I would absolutely ask her to pet-sit for me again!

Emily was extremely professional, attentive, and caring with my cats while she house sat for me over the weekend during my trip to Maine. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing all four of my cats were accounted for, fed, and cared for, and I really appreciated the check-in photos and updates throughout the weekend. She let me know when they had breakfast, when she was heading out for the night, and kept their routine consistent while I was away. Emily was kind, friendly, and wonderful with my animals. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter — she did an amazing job!

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the real-world experience I bring from living and working with dogs every day. I’ve raised and trained a variety of breeds, including high-drive working dogs like Dobermans and a Donovan Pinscher, and I currently share my home with three dogs and a cat. My dogs are actively involved in dog sports. Giving me a strong foundation in obedience, structure, and engagement. I understand how to meet each dog where they are—whether it’s a playful puppy needing boundaries or a senior dog requiring calm, attentive care. I take a thoughtful, balanced approach with every dog I care for, focusing on clear communication, calm energy, and consistency. My experience allows me to confidently handle dogs with different needs and personalities, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being. Whether you’re looking for someone to reinforce good habits, provide mental stimulation, or simply give your pet a safe, peaceful break from home, I offer more than basic care—I bring a lifestyle built around respect, trust, and a genuine love for animals. Pet care fits naturally into my work schedule because it’s already a central part of my daily life and routine. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze in—it’s something I’ve built my lifestyle around. With experience raising and training multiple dogs, including high-drive working breeds, I’m used to managing feeding times, structured exercise, training sessions, and downtime throughout the day. My schedule is intentionally designed to support the physical and emotional needs of the animals in my care, allowing me to provide reliable, consistent attention without it ever feeling rushed or secondary. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm, structured environment. In my home, I maintain clear routines, supervise all interactions, and ensure every animal has their own space and comfort. When in your home, I follow your pet’s routine closely, respect their space, and provide consistent, attentive care. I read body language carefully, move at your pet’s pace, and focus on building trust through calm, confident handling. Your pet’s well-being is always my top priority, no matter the setting.

Chandler was an AMAZING pet and house sitter! I expected this based on her other reviews, but our dog and two young cats seemed to adore her! Usually when I board my dog he comes home very stressed out. This was such a different experience- he was just his normal, happy self. Chandler is very communicative and sent us photos and updates of our pets, letting us know how they were. She kept up on all the pet duties, brought in the mail, took out the trash, and left the house better than she found it. She's also got a lovely personality! Next time we need to go out of town, I hope she's available because this was an amazing experience!

Lauren is an attentive and diligent sitter who goes above and beyond. We entrusted her with our corgi with Epilepsy, and she made sure to follow directions very closely and provided daily to semi-daily updates, with photos and funny stories. Even though we missed our boy, she helped us feel a part of his everyday. Lauren was very willing to learn how to take care of our baby but also made sure to treat our home very well. She went above and beyond what we asked of her. Half way through our trip we realized we had booked out rover reservation 1 day early and she made adjustments to stay as long as possible until another friend could come take care of our baby. She prepped out our pups medication and food and was willing to show our friends how to care for our furry family member. We will most definitely use Lauren in the future. Your pup and home will be well taken care of with Lauren.

Shanae is easily one of the best sitters we have used in a while - we used to have a go-to sitter that moved away for grad school and went through a few additional sitters without much luck on a good fit, but we're incredibly happy to have found Shanae. She took care of our dog as her own, took her on even longer walks than we regularly do, sent pictures, and our dog seemed so happy and relaxed when we got home, when in the past she has seemed more relieved than happy. We're sure Abby looks forward to seeing her again!

Lakshmi was an amazing Rover find, and I appreciated her every step of the way. She was willing to visit my home first and then welcomed me to her home so I could make sure I felt completely comfortable before booking. Throughout the stay, she sent frequent updates and photos of my dogs happily playing both inside her home and outside in her fenced-in backyard, including with her own big and little dogs—a setup very similar to mine. I never worried about whether they were safe, comfortable or having a good time. She even managed to teach my almost one-year-old standard poodle to stop constantly harassing his much smaller Pekingese brother to play! I came home to a noticeably more peaceful house, and Lakshmi gave me helpful tips for maintaining that progress. Her lovely home sits on a corner lot with a sizable yard where the dogs could get plenty of exercise. She also already had crates available, so I did not need to bring my own, and she provided pickup and drop-off, which made everything incredibly easy. I now refer to Lakshmi as my dogs’ honorary grandmother, and I am so grateful I found her. She clearly understands dogs, and I will absolutely book her again when I travel for work or pleasure. I highly recommend her!

Yolanda did a fantastic job with my dog. He is 14 years old and has special needs. He has a seizure disorder ,chronic recurrent bladder infections, Liver disease and many other medical issues. Yolanda did a fantastic job keeping up with all of his pills and all of his walks!! She was very communicative with me and patient with the very very detailed instructions that I gave her for his care. I went away for almost 7 days which I am usually very uncomfortable doing but because of her regular communication with me. asking thoughtful questions and her close attention to detail, I felt completely at ease and was not worried for my dogs safety like I often am with some sitters. She is very reliable and has Integrity. You will be making a great choice by choosing Yolanda!!!!

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of dogs since I was 14. All of my family and friends come to me for any form of pet care. I genuinely enjoy every time I get to take care of any furry friend. I currently work part time at an animal hospital so I always have a vet on standby lol. I only usually work 20 -25 hrs a week so I am available to take care of my furry friends in between my schedule. My only off days are Sundays and Fridays from 7pm-10pm. I take all house rules very seriously and treat all pups with the proper care that is directed. As a dog owner myself I understand wanting to treat our pets with the utmost care.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats with serious medical needs who like to chill out in the AC or Dobermans who can’t stop running, either way all pets are fun! My schedule varies, but I keep my Rover calendar updated and can often accommodate weekdays, evenings, and weekends. At least two days’ notice is preferred, although I may be able to accept last-minute requests depending on my schedule. Feel free to message me about the specific timing and care your pet needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priorities. I carefully follow all care instructions, keep pets securely leashed outdoors, monitor behavior and appetite, and provide regular updates and photos. I have a cat in my home, so I manage introductions carefully and can keep pets in separate areas when appropriate. For boarding and daycare, dogs must be crate-trained. I’m also happy to discuss routines, medical needs, behavioral concerns, and household instructions before the booking.

Would absolutely recommend Tristen to dogsit in your home! Tristen was very patient with learning about my pup's quirks and made me feel comfortable that his needs would be met while we were away. Tristen was an excellent communicator throughout and we got some wonderful update pictures of our dog that are frameworthy! My dog was loving life. Tristen also took care of our plants as requested. Much appreciated. Thank you so much Tristen.

Lauren was amazing!! I hate leaving my dog at home when we go on vacation as we both get a bit of separation anxiety when we leave each other. Plus my dog has a few quirks about him which Lauren was able to navigate with ease. Lauren was why I was able to enjoy myself on my trip. She was terrific at communicating throughout the day, followed up with me before her visit to confirm details, and sent adorable photos where I could tell he was getting comfortable. She left our house clean and tidy and we will have no questions on who we are booking next time we go away!

Kristina took great care of our four high maintenance animals, including a dog with separation anxiety and back issues who can't be left alone without planning ahead. They all loved her and got plenty of play time and cuddles. She noticed one of our cats wasn't eating much at first while we were gone and went out of her way to make sure she ate and drank. She also provided the perfect number of updates and pictures, left our house as clean as it was when she got here, and stayed until we got back from our late flight home so that the dogs were calm when we got there. I highly recommend Kristina, especially when you need somebody who can do in person handoffs and stay with the animals most of the visit rather than popping in and out. She's kind, reliable, and very attentive to the needs of the pets.

FAQs for House Sitting - Maryland City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Maryland City on Rover is $49.06 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 10,805 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Maryland City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maryland City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maryland City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maryland City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maryland City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
