We both have other jobs, but our schedules are very different, so at least one of us is usually home and we have lots of time to spend with the pups. Our kids are 21, 18, and 15, and they are big dog lovers too.

Safety, trust & environment
We live in a large single family home on 1 acre on a quiet dead-end street in the heart of Columbia. We are surrounded by woods and while we don’t have a full fenced backyard, we do have a small fenced-in area for the dogs that is perfect for quick potty breaks. We have lots of space to roam and take the dogs out frequently for walks on leash. We also have a large deck, which is great for spending time outside when the weather is nice. We do not generally use crates unless that is part of your dog’s routine. We have a couple of crates in different sizes if needed, or you can bring your own if you prefer. We do not require dogs to be crate trained. We allow the dogs in most rooms in the house and they are allowed on furniture, but we will try to enforce whatever rules you have at home if you don’t want them on furniture. We have a lot of space for dogs to have their own area to hang out if necessary. We typically take only 2 dogs at a time (not including our own) but we sometimes take more on a case by case basis if we think they will be a good fit with each other. We do our best to follow whatever routines or schedule your dog is used to so they can feel more comfortable here. We send lots of photos to keep you updated on how much fun your dog is having with us while you’re away. We will treat your dog like one of our own and they will be sure to get lots of attention!

Information Joy & Rodney S. would like to know about your pet
Information we would like to know about your dog: • Are vaccinations up to date? • Are they spayed or neutered? • What is their feeding schedule/routine and how much do they get at each meal? • Does the dog have any special needs, allergies or medications? • Are there any behavioral issues we should be aware of? • Where does your dog like to sleep at night? • How frequently do they need potty breaks? • How long can they be left alone? • Anything else we should know to help make your pup’s stay as happy and comfy as possible!
A typical day
Our days typically start with morning potty breaks and feedings, then we’ll have play time, relax around the house, and go on walks on the lovely pathways nearby.

Experienced, dog-loving family
Pet care experience
We are a family of 5 humans and 2 dogs. We have a sweet, sleepy 13-year old golden retriever named Trevor and a fun, energetic 11-year old labradoodle named Raven. They are friendly and easygoing and have adapted well to sharing their home with other dog friends. We both grew up with dogs and we started sitting through Rover in 2020 because we wanted to spend more time with dogs without actually getting our own 3rd dog.
Reviews

Joy and Rodney took good care of our baby. They made sure she got her meds on time and they sent us lots of pictures. We will definitely use them again.

Our dog Zara had a great time with Joy and Rodney. We appreciated the photos and videos sent and everything we brought was returned at pickup. We plan to rebook later this month! Thanks Joy and Rodney!

Scout is always well taken care of with Joy and Rodney!

My dog absolutely loves staying with them. He always has a good time and most of all they take really good care of him!
