“Robert and Pamela were amazing with my girl! They treated her as their own and she came back super happy! I received daily pictures and was overall really impressed. They have a large backyard that is perfect for playtime. I realized I didn’t have enough food for my girl while I was going to be gone, and they even offered to help pick up more food for her. Super sweet people! Definitely will be using them again!”

“Jen was awesome with Max and Daizy! I’m always a little nervous leaving them, but she made me feel so much better with updates and how well she handled everything. My pups can be a little particular, and she did great with them. You can tell she really cares. Definitely would book her again!”

“I really appreciate Crystal’s timely communication and genuine care for dogs. She also holds a lot of insight on how to provide great care and train for dogs which I value. Crystal is a great dog sitter and would love to bring my pups back in her genuine care and love.”

“Sophia was wonderful. This was the first time leaving our dogs with a Rover sitter, and the first time having them watched in someone else's house. So I was really nervous but Sophia was super communicative, sent photos every day and always responded immediately to my messages. 10/10 wonderful experience. We are using her again in March and looking forward to it.”

“My dog Tako was extremely well taken care of and I got frequent updates. Shanilka was very easy to communicate with and she was very flexible as my travel plans changed due to the weather. I will absolutely be using her again if I ever need!”
“Our dog can be very anxious but she felt right at home with Rebeka and her family! We were relieved to know she was well taken care of, which put us all at ease due our time away. She had a great time. Highly recommend.”

“Gracie was fabulous watching Lincoln! She was very communicative and kept us updated with lots of photos. We could tell that Lincoln was well taken care of and that Gracie made him feel right at home. Would definitely recommend Gracie as a sitter!”

“Both of my dogs truly enjoyed their stay with Melissa. They were well cared for and she provided ample updates. I definitely will be working with her again to care for my pups.”

“Our 11 year old pup had a great weekend with Joy and Rodney! Communication was excellent. Daily photos and updates were sent to us. We feel very lucky to have them as an option to watch our boy again in the future”

“Cola was well taken care of for her overnight stay with Auana! I received photo updates and they treated her like one of their own! Even going the extra mile to brush her and send her back so happy :)”

“Lakesha and Marshall were great! They: - were easy to work with and responsive to any questions I had; - had a really nice, big, fenced in backyard; and, - sent pictures and updates throughout my dog’s stay. Would recommend”

“Colleen took wonderful care of our cockapoo for 3 days. She sent photos several times and provided photos. She also was able to give some eyedrops several times per day that our dog required. My dog seemed content and well cared for. Thank you.”

“FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Highly recommend! We chose Sriju, in part, based on other excellent reviews...and she did not disappoint! From our first communications and introductory meeting before we left our 11mo Goldendoodle with her, Sriju was welcoming, gentle, extremely responsive, organized, completely accommodating, and loving. This was our first time leaving Benny with someone else (we were away six days) so we were already a bit on edge; Sriju put us at ease immediately. Everyday while we were gone Sriju sent texts and pictures (usually once in AM and once in PM). She took Benny on numerous walks throughout the day as well as to the dog park. She adjusted to his needs, not the other way around, and provided an atmosphere that made Benny completely comfortable, as evidenced by his affection toward her when it was time to pick him up upon our return. We highly recommend Sriju and can't thank her enough for making our Benny feel at home while we were away...and giving us the peace of mind we needed to truly enjoy our trip. THANK YOU, Sriju!”

“Maria and Fernando are the best!! Titus has a great time with Maria, Fernando and the other dogs. Communication is amazing, Maria provides pictures throughout the day. I leave my Titus with Maria and Fernando when I travel for work, have a busy weekend, or even just for Titus to play with his friend. Titus is safe and well taken care of every time he goes to Maria and Fernando.”

“Another wonderful stay with Josh and Andres! Our dogs are always so happy to stay with them. We get lots of updates and photos. We know that when we go away, our dogs are in great hands. Thanks again! :-)”

“I had a wonderful experience boarding my dog, Hazel, with Bryn. At the meet and greet, Hazel obviously liked Bryn (which is not always the case when meeting new people) so I knew we were off to a great start. Bryn has a calm personality and definitely is knowledgeable about dogs. She has a lovely home and a great fenced in backyard where the dogs can play. Her dog, Kepler, is very sweet. Bryn sent pictures and updates during Hazel's stay and reported that she did very well. She followed my instructions as far as giving Hazel her medications. I'd happily recommend Bryn to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog.”

“Curtis and Lindsay were great, sharing pictures and communicating the whole time we were away. Our pup appeared content, happy and tired out when we brought her home. Would definitely recommend!”

Great experience with the pet sitter! They sent pictures every day, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. It was clear that my pet was happy and well cared for, and it even looked like they got along wonderfully with Simba, their dog. I’d definitely trust them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
