“Andrea is the perfect sitter! I appreciated her flexibility with drop off and pick up times and her very calm, personable and welcoming demeanor. Sarge loved being at her house and was already exploring the house by the time I left. Andrea made sure he had all the comforts of home and even got him to sleep in a dog bed that she provided. When I picked him up, he was very content and in no hurry to go home. I have already booked another stay, as I know Sarge will be in good care with Andrea.”

“Theresa and her daughter took such good care of our dog, Lily! They really loved her like their own and sent plenty of daily updates and pictures. We enjoyed ourselves on vacation knowing that our pup was in good hands.”

“Thomas was an absolutely amazing and wonderful sitter for our little pup. We’re also so worried about leaving her with a sitter because she suffers from horrible anxiety and is so fearful of a lot of things (new people included), but from all the pictures that Thomas had sent us, it seemed like our little pup was able to quickly make a home and feel at peace for the duration of the sit. Besides being a good sitter for our fearful pup, Thomas was also very flexible and responsive. We had booked him so last minute, and we couldn’t get home in time due to the recent snow storm. As anxious as we were about these problems, Thomas was great and alleviated a lot of our stress by accepting and kindly taking care of our pup for even longer than intended. Highly recommend! And we hope to book him again sometime in the future!”
“Hermes had a long stay with Kelly, 17 days! Kelly took such good care of him including tick check and wiping his tear marks due to mild allergies. She sent me pictures and updates on Hermes on regular basis and Hermes was definitely a happy dog under her care and playing with her two lovely kids. I will book Kelly again no doubt! Thank you so much Kelly, Hermes loves all three of you!”

“Cindy was absolutely amazing with our dogs! From the moment we met her, we felt like our pups were in good hands. She sent us lots of pictures and updates which we loved! It was clear they were not only well cared for, but also happy and loved. Knowing they were safe, comfortable, and getting lots of attention made such a difference for us. We’re so grateful we found Cindy and wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

“Marylee and her husband were so amazing with our Iris. They indulged her with healthy foods when she was too fussy to eat her own food, give her lots of cuddles and love, and let her run off her excess energy in their huge fenced-in yard. They also sent me frequent pictures and updates. They are loving and patient and I would highly recommend them. We will definitely be using them again, I hope!”

“So this is the first time I used Rover and I couldn’t be more happy Erica and Franklin were the best! They made me feel very comfortable by having a visit before my vacation so that I was able to meet them and see their home and that helped to know it was a perfect fit. They were in constant communication answering text anytime and sending pictures that will of the good times they were having with my pit. I give them credit because some people here that I have a pitbull and get totally turned off and feel some kind of way, but they were completely open to him and invited him in like one of the family. If I could recommend anyone it would definitely be Erica and Franklin . Taking comfort in them having my dog, which is essentially like my child enabled me to enjoy my vacation and I can’t thank them enough. I fully recommend them 100%.”

“Joseph and his wife took amazing care of Kashmere over night. They sent updates through out the entire day/ night with pictures and videos to make sure we knew he was doing ok. Also kept him on schedule for us so there were no issues for us when we got him back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“Asher and Olivia had a wonderful time with Jason! We really appreciated Jason's frequency of communication. This was our first time boarding our puppies and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!”

“Lauren was absolutely wonderful with Cosmo! He had such a great time staying at her house and loved hanging out with her dog, Zoe. It was clear he was happy and well cared for the entire time. Lauren kept me updated with lots of messages and photos, which I really appreciated-it gave me so much peace of mind. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive sitter!”

“This was my second time booking with Kelly, and I couldn't have been happier. Kelly and her husband, John, are such kind and dedicated dog lovers, and I really appreciated how amazing they were with my shy pup. Also, my pup unfortunately had to go to the ER, and Kelly could not have been more professional and accommodating. She really went above and beyond making sure that my pup was okay, and it was thanks to her care and keen observation that my pup received the care and workup that he needed. I'm so grateful to Kelly!”

“Great experience! Communication was excellent, he responded quickly, kept me updated regularly, and was super nice when it came to Leah’s little clumsy moments (like falling in their pond!). I really appreciated how attentive and caring they were. Highly recommend!”
“We had a fantastic experience boarding our dog, Bob, with Jessica and her sweet dog, Max, for six days. Jessica went above and beyond—she walked Bob even in the rain, made sure he took his medication, and somehow even convinced him to wear his coat (a miracle in itself!). She sent thoughtful updates, and it was clear Bob felt completely at home. We’re so grateful for her care and would absolutely trust her again. Highly recommend!”

“Sonia was the best sitter for my dog. She was so sweet and understanding from the moment we met. She kept me updated with Kleo's day and sent plenty of pictures. I will definitely book again, thank you Sonia for taking care of my baby!”

“Jenn and her family were great. I was in a pinch and needed to find a dog sitter for the weekend with pretty short notice and Jen not only made Toby feel really comfortable and took great care of him, but also made me feel very comfortable leaving him in their care. She sent photos and updates every day and Toby really enjoyed his stay with their family. I definitely will use Jenn again.”

“Jen was awesome with Max and Daizy! I’m always a little nervous leaving them, but she made me feel so much better with updates and how well she handled everything. My pups can be a little particular, and she did great with them. You can tell she really cares. Definitely would book her again!”

“Bianca was a wonderful sitter. I knew the moment I met her that my pooch was in good hands which put me at ease. My dog takes time to warm up to people but he was well acquainted with Bianca so quickly. She provided frequent updates and I could tell my dog felt comfortable with her in photos. When I picked my dog up he was crying when she left and was searching for her. I would absolutely recommend her to look after your pet.”

Eric was great! We had a family emergency and needed to travel internationally. He sent lots of pics and even socialized our dog. It was an exciting week away from home with many adventures. Will definitely use him again in the future. Thank you for taking such great care of our baby!

Finnegan had another great stay with his “Rover Family.”Carrie and John are just the best, and Finnegan loves staying with them. Finnegan clearly enjoys spending time with Fozzie and can’t wait to go back for his next visit in a few weeks! Highly recommend this loving family to care for your fur baby!

This was the first time leaving our 3 dogs (2 labs and a Golden Retriever) with anyone. Not everyone can manage 3 large dogs. I was so anxious but Jaemin and his wife were wonderful. The dogs were clearly well cared for and seemed quite content in all of the photos and videos Jaemin sent. Jaemin was very responsive to texts as well. I am grateful to have found Jaemin and his wife and I highly recommend them.

Our 1-year-old pup Boomer had an amazing stay with Lauren. She kept him happy, active, and well cared for the entire time. He got to enjoy lick mats, a 2-mile walk, several play sessions, and lots of playtime with other pups which was perfect for burning off his energy. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and I was nervous about his first Rover stay, but it is clear he was comfortable, entertained, and treated like one of her own. She sent daily updates with lots of pics and was very responsive. I really appreciated the attention and care Lauren gave him, and I would absolutely trust her with him again. Highly recommend!

Melissa was a wonderful host for our dog over the long weekend! The photos and updates Melissa provided were great to let us know our dog was getting lots of walks and snuggles (her two favorite things). Melissa was very flexible about coordinating a drop off and pick up time.
It was our first time leaving our dear fur baby behind for a family overseas trip. It was nerve-wrecking not knowing what to do. We found Rover app and through that a very caring, dedicated sitter, Nuria. We received daily pictures and updates, which instantly put us at ease. Nuria even knitted a beautiful sweater for our beloved. We will definitely use her service again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
