“Aashna and Sidanth took excellent care of our dog. Communication was fantastic – they sent updates and photos twice a day. We felt very comfortable leaving him with them and would definitely rebook.”

“As always -- nothing but top-notch TLC for Ella when she stays with Alex and Daniel! We couldn't be luckier to be able to rely on them to keep our girl happy, healthy, and loved while we're away.”

“It was our first time with Marylee and I loved the fact that she took the time to get to know us and Cosmo. I felt confident leaving him for three days with her. Marylee was super communicative while we were gone and sent us photos twice a day which I loved receiving. He had such a great time and was taken such good care that I wasn’t sure he would want to come back (lol!). Marylee was also very accommodating and flexible as there was an unexpected schedule change we needed to make right before our date. She was very quick to respond which also made me feel confident. Cosmo is our third baby (after two human babies) and we felt so good leaving him in her care. Looking forward to him having more future stays with Marylee. Cosmo had an absolute ball. He was exhausted when he came back and slept for a whole day when he came back (lol!)”

“Hello this was my first time boarding my pup Tyson and when I say it was an excellent experience from beginning to finish. Crystal S. sent me pictures and updates on his stay and the pictures was amazing just and relaxing laid out on her mats. She has everything you puppy will need and that put you at ease. I will be booking again. I love the quality work and love she expressed to my pup pup! Till the next time. Continue the excellent service you provide.”

“Joseph and his wife took amazing care of Kashmere over night. They sent updates through out the entire day/ night with pictures and videos to make sure we knew he was doing ok. Also kept him on schedule for us so there were no issues for us when we got him back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“We had a fantastic experience boarding our dog, Bob, with Jessica and her sweet dog, Max, for six days. Jessica went above and beyond—she walked Bob even in the rain, made sure he took his medication, and somehow even convinced him to wear his coat (a miracle in itself!). She sent thoughtful updates, and it was clear Bob felt completely at home. We’re so grateful for her care and would absolutely trust her again. Highly recommend!”

“We are first time users of Rover and are so happy we found Carrie. Finnegan really enjoyed his overnight visit, and was welcomed into Carrie’s home as if it were his own. Carrie was extremely attentive to Finnegan’s needs and communicated with me frequently from the start. Finnegan can’t wait to go back in a few weeks!”

“Both of my dogs truly enjoyed their stay with Melissa. They were well cared for and she provided ample updates. I definitely will be working with her again to care for my pups.”

“Ivan was outstanding with Blue, our 2-year-old Australian Shepherd. He took him for countless walks and provided us with pictures and updates during his stay. It was very reassuring to feel that Blue was in very good hands. I highly recommend Ivan and will certainly count on him whenever Blue needs a host. Thanks again, Ivan!”

“Chad and his wife were wonderful carers for my dog! She experienced some GI issues while staying with them and they made appropriate modifications to her diet and offered helpful tips.”

“It was our first time leaving our dear fur baby behind for a family overseas trip. It was nerve-wrecking not knowing what to do. We found Rover app and through that a very caring, dedicated sitter, Nuria. We received daily pictures and updates, which instantly put us at ease. Nuria even knitted a beautiful sweater for our beloved. We will definitely use her service again in the future.”

“I could not have been more pleased with Boxer’s stay with John. He has a dog, and we walked them together before our actual sitting dates, just to make sure they got along. They did. John was kind and welcoming, provided daily (and encouraging) reports, and lots of pics. The best of all: I didn’t worry about Boxer’s safety or well-being AT ALL. I’d use John again in a heartbeat!”

“Rose is FANTASTIC! A loving, fun and calm spirit! Pippy was so very happy and content staying with her and Zeus! I would rebook in a minute and often! We found a gem amongst rocks! 🤗”

“Marion and Blue took such good care of our dog in her recent vacation. She got so much exercise and so many snuggles. Would definitely recommend Marion and Blue to everyone!”

“Cindy was great with Murphy. Friendly, easy to communicate, We appreciate her flexibility, prompt and clear communication, and her overall attentiveness to our dog. We could not be more pleased with her work and would be happy to recommend her services to our family and friends.”
“Yessica took awesome care of my pup for 4 nights. I appreciated that she did a meet and greet first so we could chat, see where our dog would be staying and meet her dog. Sammi had such a good time I don't think she wanted to come home!”

“Evvery was an amazing host for my dog Boh. I received both video and photo updates every day during my vacation, and she was really comforting. He looked really happy and relaxed when I returned, which is huge for my anxious pup.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy Spring
Josh and Andres are great sitters. They are very responsive and provide lots of photo updates. Our dog has stayed with them a few times and has always been very well cared for. Our girl is shy around new people and in new environments but had no problem at their home.

This was the first time leaving our 3 dogs (2 labs and a Golden Retriever) with anyone. Not everyone can manage 3 large dogs. I was so anxious but Jaemin and his wife were wonderful. The dogs were clearly well cared for and seemed quite content in all of the photos and videos Jaemin sent. Jaemin was very responsive to texts as well. I am grateful to have found Jaemin and his wife and I highly recommend them.

Our 1-year-old pup Boomer had an amazing stay with Lauren. She kept him happy, active, and well cared for the entire time. He got to enjoy lick mats, a 2-mile walk, several play sessions, and lots of playtime with other pups which was perfect for burning off his energy. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and I was nervous about his first Rover stay, but it is clear he was comfortable, entertained, and treated like one of her own. She sent daily updates with lots of pics and was very responsive. I really appreciated the attention and care Lauren gave him, and I would absolutely trust her with him again. Highly recommend!

Melissa was a wonderful host for our dog over the long weekend! The photos and updates Melissa provided were great to let us know our dog was getting lots of walks and snuggles (her two favorite things). Melissa was very flexible about coordinating a drop off and pick up time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
