“Sherry did an excellent job, she checked in to make sure everything was still on schedule for day and time I requested. She was punctual and followed feeding instructions to the tee. Karma seemed very happy and not stressed like usual. I would highly recommend Sherry for pet sitting, we will definitely Use her services again!”

“We love when Angela watches our dogs. She has been so reliable, and we feel so much comfort knowing our boys are in her care. She is certainly someone I recommend to all my friends!!”

“Second time booking with Gigi. She is always communicating with us, sending updates on our cats and pictures. She is also so kind and does a wonderful job taking care of our cats. She was even kind enough to reach out to a general contractor friend of hers when our breaker tripped during her stay at our house. She goes above and beyond.”

“Hilary was wonderful with our pup. She communicated frequently with us and left our home in great shape. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again. Thank you, Hilary!!”

“Aayla is actually my dream pet sitter. She was the perfect level of communicative, she kept me in the loop about anything she felt I should know about, and was so respectful and responsible towards my home on top of being super sweet and responsible with my pets. I was gone for stressful family wedding weekend and Aayla made sure I did not have to worry about my pets for even a second while I was busy with that. Highly recommend hiring Aayla as your pet sitter!!”

“Alyssa took great care of my two kitties. She was patient with my shy girl and they both seemed to feel very comfortable with her in no time! She provided regular updates which were appreciated. She also had obvious respect for my home as it was near and tidy when I got back.”

I would highly recommend Mark for your dog sitting needs.”

“Harrison is the best house and dog sitter, he is communicative and ensures to leave the house tidy and cleaned up. He walks our somewhat difficult large dogs, is patient with them and continues to implement our training rules while we are away. We are always happy when Harrison is free when we need sitting services, as he is truly top notch!”

“Abby was fantastic! She left the house exactly the way it was when we left and took grammar care of our dogs while we were away. Highly recommend her and will definitely hire her again!”

“Jasmine was absolutely amazing with my husky, Johnny, and my kitty, Salem! From the moment she arrived, she was punctual, friendly, and immediately put me at ease. It's clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. Throughout the evening, she kept me updated with thoughtful messages and adorable photos, which meant so much to me. I never had to wonder how Johnny and Salem were doing because Jasmine made sure I was always in the loop. She even took the time to check in the next day, which really showed how much she goes above and beyond. Finding someone you trust with your pets is priceless, and I wouldn't hesitate to book Jasmine again. She treated Johnny and Salem like they were her own, and I can honestly say she's one of the best pet sitters I've ever worked with. Thank you, Jasmine, for taking such wonderful care of my fur babies!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Phoenix
Ynez is wonderful!! She kept great communication with me throughout my trip. She made sure my dogs were loved, fed, and well taken care of. She left my home clean and even picked up the yard after the dogs. She definitely is a gem. She will always be welcome back and my boys loved her!!

Zinnia was absolutely amazing! She was communicative, respectful, and took such great care of our 17-year-old pug while we were away. One thing that really stood out was how many wonderful updates and pictures she sent throughout our trip—it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our girl was in such good hands. Our pug sometimes looks tired or stressed after we've been away, but this time she looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It was clear that Zinnia gave her lots of attention and love. On top of that, Zinnia left our house in even better shape than we left it. Everything was spotless, and she treated our home with great care and respect. We couldn't be happier with the experience and would absolutely book with Zinnia again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring dog sitter!
Hilary did an amazing job caring for our dogs while we were away in New York City for five nights. She took wonderful care of both our puppy, Nico, and our older fur baby, Toto. Hilary was exceptional—attentive, reliable, and highly communicative throughout our trip. She sent daily updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Beyond that, she is genuinely friendly, warm, and easy to work with. We returned home to two happy, well-cared-for pups and couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. We highly recommend Hilary and would absolutely trust her with Nico and Toto again in the future!

Sohaila watched my 2 dogs in my home for a 10 day trip out of the country. She took such great care of my 2 stressed pups as well as my home. My departure and return home time both changed and she was able to accommodate. I came home to my house as I left it. Will try to book again next time!

Mitchell was wonderful with my dog Rigby! He took the time to come meet Rigby beforehand, which immediately put me at ease. While I was away, he took great care of him, made sure he got to socialize with other dogs, and kept me updated with regular check-ins. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and has a real passion for helping dogs feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend Mitchell to anyone looking for a caring, attentive sitter!

Gigi took wonderful care of my senior dog for a week while we were traveling. I was especially anxious about leaving him because he was having a flare-up of his chronic cough and needed multiple medications, including a liquid medication administered by syringe. From the beginning, Gigi put my mind at ease. She was confident and experienced with administering medications and provided multiple updates each day, which helped me relax knowing he was in good hands. She followed all of his care instructions carefully and gave him the attention and monitoring he needed. When we came home, he was happy, relaxed, and doing significantly better - his cough had improved noticeably during the week. It was clear he had been well cared for and had a calm, comfortable stay. This was my first time using an in-home pet sitter for an extended length of time, and Gigi exceeded all of my expectations. As a bonus, she watered our plants and left the house clean and tidy. I would highly recommend her, especially to anyone with a senior pet or a pet with medical needs.

Janine did an amazing job watching our dogs and cats. She was very prompt, had a very calming demeanor around the animals, and did a great job sending updates! Both times that we have used her, the house was spotless when we returned. I would recommend Janine to anyone looking for a reliable in-home pet sitter.

Rachel was absolutely wonderful! She was communicative, reliable, and clearly cared so much for our dog. We loved the photo updates and peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed, and well loved pup and well taken care of house. We will absolutely book with Rachel again, highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Phoenix on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,023 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Phoenix. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Phoenix walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Phoenix maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Phoenix choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Phoenix. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
