“Gigi is an exceptional Sitter! This is the first time we have used Rover and we were very impressed with the level of excellent service Gigi provided our dogs. We have older dogs and one of them can be difficult. She handled our challenging fur baby with ease. Gigi was very communicative and let us know how our pups were doing every day. It put us at ease that our dogs were in such good hands with Gigi. We would 100% recommend Gigi for any of your Sitting needs. Thank you, Gigi!!!”

“Angela is AMAZING! My sweet dog has some unique medical needs and is spoiled so I am hesitant to leave my dog with many people. Angela took the best care of her and made me feel so comfortable knowing she was taken care of so well.”

“Aayla is actually my dream pet sitter. She was the perfect level of communicative, she kept me in the loop about anything she felt I should know about, and was so respectful and responsible towards my home on top of being super sweet and responsible with my pets. I was gone for stressful family wedding weekend and Aayla made sure I did not have to worry about my pets for even a second while I was busy with that. Highly recommend hiring Aayla as your pet sitter!!”

“Rosa was amazing with Ollie. She updated me as needed. She was very kind and patient with Ollie as she takes a little while to warm up to people. Ollie loved her! I will definitely be booking again when I need!”

“Hilary took wonderful care of my dog, Gracie, while I was away. Although there were a few scheduling challenges due to her unexpectedly starting a new job, she was upfront about everything, communicated well throughout, and took full accountability. I really appreciated her honesty and willingness to work through the situation. Most importantly, Gracie absolutely adored her. It was obvious she received so much love, attention, and excellent care. Hilary followed all of my instructions carefully, kept me updated, and made sure Gracie was comfortable and happy. Knowing my pup was in such caring hands gave me real peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Hilary to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Vincent was fantastic! He came over on his morning break to meet my dogs and I was out of town by noon with peace of mind. I will be booking him again and I cannot recommend him enough. He left my dogs happy and my house clean! Thank you so much Vincent!”

“Alyssa did such a great job! She kept me informed and made sure our puppy was happy and well taken care of! She left our house clean and our dog wore out from lots of fun play.”

“Absolutely stellar pet sitter. I booked with William last minute since I had to leave town and my other sitter had fallen through, and he did such an amazing job with Fonzy. Consistent updates and photos, asked questions, and my place looked great when I returned. Highly recommend for others!”

“Brianna, Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Zoë while I was out of town for four days last week. I so appreciate your focus on safety with our gate and landscaping service. It was very clear that Zoë had the very best and loving care all week. You are so appreciated and I look forward to having you care for Zoë again soon. Best, Marci”

“Alyssa is such a gem! She saved me at the last minute when my other scheduled Rover sitter abruptly cancelled. She made time for a meet-&-greet right away, was great with communication, and Churro adored her!”

“Mark is amazing and I would recommend him to anyone! This is our second time having mark watch our dogs and he took great care of them. His communication is top notch and I always felt reassured knowing they were in good hands. He was also very attentive to our puppy, who is quite the handful! I would highly recommend Mark for your dog sitting needs.”

“Kimberly was great with my dog, Jasper! She was communicative, sent pictures throughout my trip away, and overall made me feel very comfortable leaving my boy. Highly recommend and I will be rebooking in the future!”

“I can’t say enough great things about Harrison! My travel plans shifted unexpectedly at the last minute, and he didn’t miss a beat—staying later, even into the middle of the night, to make sure my dogs were safe and well cared for. He truly went above and beyond, even washing bed linens and leaving everything spotless. Harrison was thorough, responsible, timely, and super communicative. He sent regular updates and plenty of pictures, which brought me so much peace of mind during a very hectic trip. I felt completely at ease knowing my pups were in such good hands. Highly recommend, and I hope we get to book with him again!”

Angela was absolutely phenomenal! This was my first time using her, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. From the moment she came over to meet me and my pets, I knew she was the right fit. She has such a genuine, caring presence, and it was obvious that she truly loves animals. Throughout the entire time I was away, Angela was incredibly responsive, punctual, and kept me updated with thoughtful messages and so many wonderful photos. Seeing my pets happy, relaxed, and so well cared for gave me complete peace of mind. What really set her apart was how much she went above and beyond. When I found myself in a pinch, she stayed longer without hesitation to make sure my pets were taken care of. That level of kindness and dedication is rare, and I will never forget it. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, communicative, and treats your pets like they’re her own, Angela is the one. I trust her completely and will absolutely be using her again. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Vincent is the BEST! He is kind, communicative, and made me feel so comfortable leaving my ba ies with him. He didn't bat an eye at the quirks of my animals. And I came home to animals that were not stressed out, but comfortable and calm which is not usually the case. Thank you Vincent, for your gentle care of Maggie and Wilbur. :)

So thankful Ynez was able to watch my 2 poms again when I left for almost 5 days. I hate leaving my boys that long, but it is so nice to know they are in such good hands! She is so patient and understanding with my puppy (he is …. wild) and so good with my older pom who usually takes quite a bit to warm up, but settles in really quickly with her. She is very responsive, and sends lots of updates and pictures so I get to see my boys happy and loved on!

Zinnia was absolutely amazing! She was communicative, respectful, and took such great care of our 17-year-old pug while we were away. One thing that really stood out was how many wonderful updates and pictures she sent throughout our trip—it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our girl was in such good hands. Our pug sometimes looks tired or stressed after we've been away, but this time she looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It was clear that Zinnia gave her lots of attention and love. On top of that, Zinnia left our house in even better shape than we left it. Everything was spotless, and she treated our home with great care and respect. We couldn't be happier with the experience and would absolutely book with Zinnia again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring dog sitter!
Mitchell was wonderful with my dog Rigby! He took the time to come meet Rigby beforehand, which immediately put me at ease. While I was away, he took great care of him, made sure he got to socialize with other dogs, and kept me updated with regular check-ins. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and has a real passion for helping dogs feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend Mitchell to anyone looking for a caring, attentive sitter!

Gigi took wonderful care of my senior dog for a week while we were traveling. I was especially anxious about leaving him because he was having a flare-up of his chronic cough and needed multiple medications, including a liquid medication administered by syringe. From the beginning, Gigi put my mind at ease. She was confident and experienced with administering medications and provided multiple updates each day, which helped me relax knowing he was in good hands. She followed all of his care instructions carefully and gave him the attention and monitoring he needed. When we came home, he was happy, relaxed, and doing significantly better - his cough had improved noticeably during the week. It was clear he had been well cared for and had a calm, comfortable stay. This was my first time using an in-home pet sitter for an extended length of time, and Gigi exceeded all of my expectations. As a bonus, she watered our plants and left the house clean and tidy. I would highly recommend her, especially to anyone with a senior pet or a pet with medical needs.

Janine did an amazing job watching our dogs and cats. She was very prompt, had a very calming demeanor around the animals, and did a great job sending updates! Both times that we have used her, the house was spotless when we returned. I would recommend Janine to anyone looking for a reliable in-home pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Phoenix walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Phoenix maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Phoenix choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
