“We dropped off our dog Valentin at Jenifer’s place for a few hours while we attended a local wedding. She took great care of him and sent us constant photo &video updates. She has a big yard and two other very friendly dogs, so Valentin had a great time playing (and took a few naps too XD) 10/10 would recommend!”

“Mitchell was great with my giant dog! I immediately felt comfortable and so did Dak. He is super attentive and understands how to make the pups feel at home. Would totally recommend him to anyone!”

“Great experience! Used for doggy day care once. Great communication, felt at ease sending my pup to Monica and he came back super happy! Would highly recommend.”

About: I aim to provide you and your dearest pet with the best experiences and outcomes to ensure they’re happy, healthy, and safe. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive w/ individualized attention and a calm, well-maintained, and hygienic environment (two pup parents + a professionally trained small dog). I frequently care for puppies, senior dogs, dogs with special diets or allergies, and dogs who have unique behavioral or environmental preferences/sensitivities. . Whether your pup needs a customized routine, extra supervision, special accommodations, or simply lots of nurturing and pampering, I’ll provide patient and attentive, personalized care. Additionally, my communication will be professional, and follow-ups will be provided promptly. . I look forward to developing a special bond and doting on your beloved pet! Given that I'm building clientele, here’s $20 off your first booking with Rover in exchange for your feedback: https://www.rover.com/sit/susanb60924 . Note - To provide the healthiest environment for your pet and mine, I will provide proof of vaccinations/preventative medications, upon request. . tl;dr: You’ll notice that my profile is robust, which is intentional because 1) I want to ensure that I’m a good fit for your family and pet’s needs, and 2) It’s essential to have a thorough and holistic view of your pet to ensure you’ll have peace of mind and assurance while you’re away. . Experience: My entire life, I’ve gravitated to all creatures, big and small, and I finally have the opportunity to indulge my love of pets while helping others simultaneously! . My professional background in the corporate digital technology industry and 40+ years of personal experience caring for animals is rooted in growing up in a rural Midwestern farming community. My earliest memories consist of helping my parents raise and train award-winning show and service dogs for people who have disabilities, breeding and showing Clydesdales, loving on my cats/kittens, and tending to countless aquatic and insect friends. Even though I’m allergic to all animals, except for dogs, you’d still find me frolicking in nature, surrounded by farm animals/livestock, obsessively studying and doting on my animal family and other cherished critters. . While living in Chicago, I volunteered at PAWS (the Midwest’s largest non-profit no-kill animal shelter). I consistently travel locally and cross-country to pet sit for friends and family and never pass up an opportunity to be in the company of the most precious and bestest boys/girls (of the animal species, that is). . Due to diligently catering to my pets, I have robust awareness and knowledge and am tremendously experienced with all aspects of a pet’s life, personality, and needs: puppies, seniors, rescues, special needs, terminal illness, parasitic/intestinal ailments, medications and administering subcutaneous fluid IVs (renal failure), food allergies, specialized diets/restrictions, treating other medical conditions, training, behavioral issues, and grooming/hygiene best practices. . About my pets: My sassy and exuberant silky terriers (previously Miss Addi and now, 3 1/2 year-old Tater Tot) have been/are always by my side. Each moved interstate with us, living the city life in Chicago, then coastal Southern California, and now Phoenix. We’ve created countless joy-filled memories exploring and adventuring (road trips to national parks, vacationing in cities, visiting friends, dining out, extended sniff-patrol strolls, hiking in the mountains, camping, walks on the beach, kayaking, and boating). . Unfortunately, Miss Addi endured Cushing’s syndrome and started experiencing strokes and seizures. Shortly after moving to AZ, she was then diagnosed with terminal renal failure. We were determined and committed to giving her the most comfortable and best life possible. The final two years of her journey required around-the-clock monitoring, regimented medical interventions, and customized care. . While it was such a gut-wrenching experience, we diligently researched, sought out experts, and immersed ourselves in learning about the intricacies of senior/emergency/end-of-life hospice care and how to grieve and cope with the loss of a beloved companion. She lived a full life, we celebrated her 16th birthday and she chose to pass over the rainbow bridge later the same day. . A month later, Tater Tot joined our family. Though he has experienced his fair share of unexpected ailments at an early age, he is such a resilient, demure, and cheerful little fella! We love him to pieces; he is simply the best! . Further Context: I truly empathize and understand the level of decision-making that goes into finding trustworthy, quality care for your beloved companions. Since Rover’s inception, I’ve relied on its service model (as a consumer) due to limitations with traditional dog boarders, and it often wasn’t an ideal solution for my dog’s needs. While we’ve had extremely positive experiences with daycare/boarding facilities, we’ve also dealt with miscommunication, irresponsible and dangerous situations that resulted in stress-induced weight loss, neglect, behavioral issues, illness, and emergency vet visits. . With thorough vetting, Rover gave me peace of mind that my most precious family member’s well-being and special needs were prioritized while catering to my busy schedule and last-minute travel engagements. Rover allowed me to move seamlessly through the demands of life and was instrumental while transitioning to new cities. I am grateful for the Rover Petting community and their continued care for my fur babies throughout all phases of their lives. My schedule is flexible, and I am more than happy to work together on a mutually agreed upon routine and care plan for your pet. For short-term stays/overnight boarding at my residence, please consider the following. Household members: - My Partner works remotely. He grew up with golden retrievers, golden doodles, and many other pets and sincerely loves all animals. He is kind-natured and has years of experience caring for and watching friends and family pets. - Tater Tot, our 2-1/2-year-old Silky Terrier, completed private 1:1 obedience training with a professional, certified, and highly reviewed dog trainer. Same for Miss Addi. - Fully vaccinated, receives tic/flea guard and preventative heartworm medications - Tater Tot responds to basic commands, plays well with dogs, and acts politely around humans and other animals. He is highly adaptable in all environments, walks well on a leash, is comfortable on car rides, and is potty-pad/crate-trained. - We do not give our pets people food/snacks due to health/diet restrictions. However, let us know if your pups love partaking in human foods! Living conditions and details: - Secure 2,000 sq. ft. residence in a gated multi-unit living community - Single floor plan layout is kept clean and sanitary - Puppy-proofed (bedrooms can be gated off, and there's enough space for a small pen enclosure/crate in the living area) - There are two small balconies with 3 ft high railings. We created a dedicated potty area on one of the balconies. - We DO NOT have an adjacent/walkout yard - An elevator or four small flights of stairs are required for walks outside - There is a doggy run/area on the property, but it does not meet our quality control standards - The neighborhood is dog-friendly and walkable. It’s comprised of a mix of residential homes, multi-unit complexes, shops, and restaurants. - Weather permitting, walks to Hance Park are ~1 mi. away
“My dog Kallie loved her time with Kenzie! She was tired and happy when I picked her up from daycare. Kenzie helped me out with last minute daycare and I couldn’t be more grateful 🤍”

“Lorin was fantastic! Our frenchies had a wonderful time with her and her family. She was understanding to our schedule and was very accommodating to our dogs needs. We received a lot of updates and pictures, and pick up and drop off was a breeze. I can tell by the pictures and videos sent they had fun while in her care.”

“I recently entrusted Joanna with the care of my dog Nizzy, and I'm more than pleased to share my experience as a review. This was our first time going to Joanna, and Nizzy has some separation issues and can be nervous. Joanna's loving and patient approach made all the difference. She showed extraordinary kindness and understanding, making sure that Nizzy felt comfortable and cared for. Her ability to connect with and calm a dog experiencing anxiety is truly commendable. I am deeply grateful for her exceptional care and highly recommend her services to other pet owners. Will book again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Phoenix
Kate is wonderful to work with - she's easy to communicate with and clearly very knowledgeable about dogs. My dog is now a regular with her and the difference has been amazing already. He's so much less stressed than he was when I used to take him to Dogtopia, and I have peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. I highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for someone who truly understands and cares about pets!

I couldn't have asked for a better sitter for my puppy, Bella! Dina took care of Bella for three days and treated her like part of the family. Bella is naturally a little shy, but Dina made her feel comfortable, safe, and loved from the very beginning. I especially appreciated how Dina helped Bella socialize by introducing her to new people and experiences in a calm and positive environment. It was wonderful knowing Bella was getting plenty of attention, playtime, and affection while I was away. Dina kept me updated and gave me complete peace of mind throughout Bella's stay. When I picked Bella up, she was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. I highly recommend Dina to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive pet sitter. Thank you, Dina, for taking such amazing care of Bella!

Autumn was fantastic! This was our first time traveling with our dog and using Rover and she made the entire experience stress free and wonderful. She provided great communication and regular updates while caring for our dog which gave us so much peace of mind. We highly recommend Autumn!

Lorin responds very quickly, and accommodated our request even though she had short notice. She was very personable, and took great care of our little Shih Tzu. We appreciated her care for Rocco so much! Also, her location is very convenient to local events in central Phoenix. This was great for us, as we attended a concert at the Arizona Financial Theater. Very satisfied customer!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Phoenix commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,562 sitters in Phoenix, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
