About: Husband and wife duo. Rachel has worked in rescue, veterinary, and at boarding/training facilities since 2006 and Shawn is a strong leader who brings the rough-housing and playtime energy. We are the proud parents of a 6 year old golden retriever named Oscar who joins us when the job allows for it. He is a gentle soul who gets along with every dog he meets. We have experience working with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, and health statuses. We are able to provide dogs with a variety of activities based on their needs and activity level. From puppies to seniors and everything in between, we guarantee a safe and enriching experience for your pets, so you can rest easy knowing that your pets are getting all the love and attention they deserve. We are just starting out in the pet care industry here in Arizona, and we hope you'll consider us for your pet care needs. I am home full time. Taking care of pets is my daily and weekly routine. I have plenty of time to spend with any pet in my care! I give my full attention to whichever pets I am taking care of. I keep them safe, cool, watered, fed, loved, clean, happy, and healthy!
“Your search for the perfect sitter is OVER! We could not be more pleased with the love and care she took to make our dogs comfortable. She has a system to introduce your dogs to Auggie. She allows your fur babies in her home and truly treats them as family. You will receive photo and text updates and best of all, they will come home HAPPY! We would give her more stars if available. Thank you , Sanah!”

“Melissa is the best dog sitter I’ve had. My dogs usually have anxiety when I leave them but with Melissa they were excited to go with her. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.”

“Definitely would recommend!!! My Daisy is very attached to me and has never been in someone else's care. The 2nd day when she got out of car she ran up to the door and couldn’t wait to dart in not even looking back at me. I got several updates & photos throughout the day. Will be booking with Christian & Hana again!”

“Megan is great! My 11month dane is very rambunctious and full of energy. We brought him twice and both time we received wonderful photos and updates while he was there. She took him on long walks, played ball and he played with with the other dogs. When we pulled up to her house on our second visit he knew exactly where we were and sprinted to the door in excitement. When we returned home he was ready to rest and was so well behaved the days following. I️ would highly recommend Megan and plan to keep taking my baby boy to her!”

“I don't think I could have found a more entertaining place for Guido to spend his day. I'm just sad that they're almost an hour's drive for me, or I would continue using them. I think Guido is actually disappointed to leave.”

“Emily was great with my dog Gojo! He had so much fun playing with her dog Peppa. She updated me on how he was doing throughout the day and sent pictures of his stay. He came home after a day of fun tired and it was reassuring to know he was in the care of an amazing sitter. I would definitely book again!”

“Truly, the best sitter ever and this is coming from a first time Rover user was very nervous, but felt that this was the right place for dolce tons of updates and they have beautiful dogs truly thankful”

“Greg is welcoming and professional. His services approach is well constructed and thoughtful. Gideon seemed to have a nice balance to his day. Thanks, Greg!”

“Joyce has been the absolutely best, so very helpful and knowledgeable! My dog absolutely adores her and gets excited when I say her name! I look forward to hearing more stories from their times together (: if I could give her more than 5 stars, I would!!”

About: I'm 57 years old and have loved and cared for animals since I was a kid. Dogs and cats have always been a big part of my life. Over the decades, I've raised and trained my own dogs, completed extensive dog training classes and gained hands-on experience understanding behavior, consistency and positive reinforcement. Friends have trusted me with their pets while they travel and I've welcomed them into my home where they quickly become family. As a former AZ Humane Society volunteer, I had the privilege of working closely with dogs, cats, rabbits and even fancy rats (ask me about them when we meet!). At the time, I was one of only a few volunteers permitted to work in more than one area of expertise. That experience deepened my appreciation for each animal's unique personality and needs. I'm grateful for that experience and for the wonderful people I was fortunate to meet. I've had a blessed career but made the decision to fully "retire" in January of 2026 giving me the flexibility and availability to provide focused, attentive care. Whether it's a fun neighborhood walk, playtime, feeding routines, or simply offering companionship while you're away, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Currently, my husband, Frank, and I don't have pets of our own as we plan to travel when he retires, sometime between Dec. of 2026 and June of 2027. We miss having pets around! So, we decided we'd become Rover pet sitters to get the opportunity to love on your pets and provide them comfort and companionship while you're away. I have an enormous heart for animals. Your pet's comfort, safety, and happiness will always come first with me. It would be my honor and privilege to serve you and care for your pet(s). I'm currently retired and my only obligation is a volunteer shift that I pull off every Tuesday for just a few hours - normally from about 10:00 am until Noon or 1:00. I occasionally have appointments outside of the home or I may embark on a motorcycle ride a time or 2 a month or have lunch with friends but I'm often at home. I'm physically active - I walk, hike and do weight training so any size animal, big or small is of no concern. Your pet and I will be great pals! My home is ideal for overnight stays because I don't have pets of my own right now. When pets are inside our home, they are part of the family. They're inside when we're inside - watching TV, sleeping, eating dinner, or throwing the ball across the living room, and they have plenty of room to roam outside in the back yard when they want to stretch their legs. We have a large, fully fenced in yard (block wall) with a grassy area on which they can stretch out and sun bathe. We also have a doggie door they can use if they're trained to do so!

“Excellent experience each time our dog has stayed with Julia and her family! He was happy and well cared for and we appreciate the daily updates and photos. Highly recommend!”

“Diesel had a great stay with Adrianna! I appreciated her timely response to my initial inquiry as well as the time she took to schedule a meet and greet. She was able to answer any questions I had. I felt confident leaving Diesel in her care.”

“Erin did an amazing job with my dogs. She treats them like her own. She was very accommodating and I felt very comfortable from the beginning.. She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated. I will be definitely using her again .”

“Kate is wonderful to work with - she's easy to communicate with and clearly very knowledgeable about dogs. My dog is now a regular with her and the difference has been amazing already. He's so much less stressed than he was when I used to take him to Dogtopia, and I have peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. I highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for someone who truly understands and cares about pets!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Glendale
This was Rowan's first time staying with Joyce. He had a very nice day with Joyce on 7/11/26. He came home tired but relaxed which tells me that he had fun playing and did not experience any stress of any kind. I will be booking another play date at Joyce's house in the next couple of days.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Glendale commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
