“Samantha was absolutely wonderful with our dogs! They kept us fully in the loop throughout the whole stay, sending regular updates and photos that gave us real peace of mind. Seeing how happy and relaxed our pups looked in every picture made it so easy to enjoy our time away without worry. You can tell Samantha genuinely cares about the animals in their care. We will definitely be booking again!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Anna! She took amazing care of our puppy. She was reliable, communicative, and attentive to all of his needs! We would absolutely trust her to watch him again and highly recommend her as a sitter!!”

“Candace is a dream of a dog- and house-sitter! She loves Sandy as if she is her own dog, and she goes above and beyond when it comes to caring for her and taking care of my house and my plants. I’m super grateful and highly recommend Candace for any kind of pet care!”
“We had Marianne house sit and take care of our 2 large dogs, a chihuahua and our 2 cats for about 10 days. She also watered our garden and plants, took in our mail and signed for deliveries for our home business. We had not left our animals with anyone in 5 years and they are our "kids". Our female was a little hesitant to make friends with her (We expected that might be an issue since she is not a "friendly" dog.) but within a day or so she was letting Marianne give her belly rubs and nudging her hand for attention. This all put our minds at ease. She also gave our chihuahua eye medication twice daily and sent us pics of everyone settling in daily. We were concerned about our cats accepting her and the new routine but they settled in very quickly with her. We are glad to find Maranne and will be using here again for another trip in October.”

“Patrick was absolutely fantastic with my two pups! One of them—a cautious and protective boxer—is not easy with strangers, but Patrick went above and beyond by spending hours with him beforehand to build trust. It was clear from their interactions that Patrick is experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to dog behaviors. I felt completely at ease leaving my fur babies in his care. On top of that, the house was spotless when I returned! Thank you so much, Patrick—you’re a true gem!”

About: For more than 20 years, I’ve been caring for dogs of all ages, and my love for animals began in childhood. I’ve had the joy of raising and caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, giving each one the patience, attention, and love they deserve. I’m dependable, always on time, and committed to providing exceptional care with kindness and compassion. Whether your pet needs a fun walk, companionship, medication, special nutritional care, or extra attention because of age or health, you can trust they’ll be treated like family. In addition to my experience with dogs, I’ve also rescued cats and helped raise litters of kittens, giving me confidence caring for cats of all ages as well. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your beloved pet is receiving the highest level of care. I work remotely and have great flexibility with timing. I tailor schedules based on pet needs and pet parent requests. Weekly availability, M-F and also weekends and holidays Pets are honored guests in my home and all safety precautions are followed. Clean water is always available and pets are always supervised. When I visit pets in their homes I am always careful and respectful of their environment. Doors are always confirmed locked when I leave. I keep all the individual needs for each pet in mind.
“Mishka (Mykhailo) became friends easily with my two big doggies. They do not usually warm up to new people, but they were licking his arms and hands!!! Mishka is very laid back and not pushy with them. He listened to all the habits I told him about the dogs - and there were many!--and followed instructions. When he heard thunder, he remembered about Tiana's fears and he went to her and she slept beside him. He played with Trey in the yard, which won trey's heart (trey is an athlete). I would definitely”

“Eileen was wonderful! We feel super lucky to have found her. We had a last minute booking due to our usual sitter getting sick and she was able to fill in very quickly. Nala loved her immediately and enjoyed playing with her. She kept us updated with pictures and texts. She even cleaned the apartment which we super appreciated! We will look forward to booking with her again”

“Mariia, was an excellent dog sitter at my house while I was gone for a week. She is very energetic and enthusiastic. She communicates daily and provides good picutures and updates about how things are going. I will definitely use Mariia again as I have total trust in her with my dog and house.”

“Rachel was great and attentive dog sitter! She had incredible patience with my dog who was experiencing separation anxiety. She followed all the instructions and I returned to happy and relaxed dogs.”

About: I’ve loved animals of every size and shape for as long as I can remember and the feeling seems to always be reciprocated! I grew up with dogs, a lab and jack russell, for most of my life and was the trusted friend of many friends and family to look after their furry friends while they were away. You can be sure your pup will get lots of love, treats, and possibly even learn a few new tricks when they stay with me! I work full-time during the week, so weekday bookings work best for pets who are comfortable being home alone during the day. I’m fully available on weekends and can provide more full-time care then! My priority is making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m happy to follow their normal routines and accommodate their individual needs, whether they prefer lots of play and activity or simply some company and cuddles.
“Julia made us feel very comfortable throughout her stay with our puppy. She would send us messages and respond back promptly whenever we communicated. She also left the house very clean, which was a nice bonus on top of our dog being cared for so well!”

“Heather was very communicative and friendly! I had a bit of a difficult situation with a new kitten in the mix and she handled it very well. It’s hard to find someone trustworthy so I’m happy I found her to watch my babies over the weekend.”

“Stephanie was wonderful! Barnaby and Bodhe loved her and seemed to have had a very good time while she was taking care of them. She was great at communicating and sending pictures and I will definitely use her again.”

“Leslie was BEYOND and I mean BEYOND amazing. She gave the most thorough updates each morning and night. Sent pictures with each message. She was so amazing! My house is cleaner than when I left. I cannot recommend her enough. She made us feel so at ease leaving our pups behind. 100000/10.”

“What an amazing experience to have Ashley house sit and watch my older dog. She had great communication and the house was in perfect shape! She kept Lola on her schedule perfectly! Thank you Ashley”

“Megan was super helpful with a short notice booking for my dog and two cats. She was very communicative and provided regular photos. I never felt a minute of worry. She was great with all of the animals and they were clearly well cared for. Definitely recommend Megan as a trustworthy and attentive sitter.”

Sonja is absolutely wonderful. I reached out to her at the last minute after another sitter had to cancel, and she rearranged her schedule to make sure Zefí was taken care of. Then my flights were severely delayed and I couldn’t get home until hours later than expected. Sonja immediately told me not to worry and that she would stay with Zefí for as long as I needed. Knowing Zefí was safe, happy, and loved took an enormous amount of stress out of an already difficult travel day. What makes Sonja so special, though, is that she doesn’t just “watch” Zefí—she genuinely enjoys her and makes their time together fun. Sonja is kind, dependable, flexible, thoughtful, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and would trust her with Zefí without hesitation.

My Leo almost seemed disappointed when I opened the door and it was me, not Will. Will was very responsive, left our home immaculate, kept Leo engaged and tired from playing as he loves. We'll be seeking Will in the future when we travel... stress-free with his care and thoughtfulness.

Mishka (Mykhailo) became friends easily with my two big doggies. They do not usually warm up to new people, but they were licking his arms and hands!!! Ashley was absolutely wonderful with Abby and Vida while I was away on a work trip. My girls are both very little and sensitive, so I’m always particular about who I trust to care for them, especially when I’m away. Ashley stayed over with them and was incredibly attentive, sending me daily updates and photos that gave me such peace of mind. I arrived home to two very happy, calm little dogs, which says everything about how comfortable and well cared for they were. Ashley also took wonderful care of my home and plants, the apartment was clean and tidy, and she was incredibly respectful throughout her stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely trust Ashley with Abby and Vida again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, reliable, and respectful to look after their pets and home!

Thank you so much for watching everybody! I have several animals with a lot going on! Olivia watched my three pets while we were on vacation, a 120lb intimidating looking cane corso, a geriatric, not always so friendly, hyperthyroid cat on medicine and a bearded dragon who eats bugs for breakfast and dinner! Olivia did AMAZING! My pets had such a wonderful time they looked disappointed to see me back from vacation LOL! We will definitely use you again! Thanks again!

Giselle dog sat my 8 year old French bulldog over the July 4th weekend. She took great care of Eddie evident by Eddie's calm demeanor when I got home. She took photos and provided updates. She changed his pee pads, took out the trash and just left my place the way she found it with care to keeps things tidy. I plan to book with her again the rest of the year.
Melissa was great! She answered my request right away. She came over to meet Penny soon after we spoke. I'm convinced Penny adopted her as family right away. Melissa sent daily pictures of morning and evening walks, made sure Penny was eating and pottying properly, and gave her lots of cuddles. I would definitely recommend Melissa to care for your fur baby in your absence.
Once again, Stella has exceeded my expectations in caring for my sweet pup and my home. I was out of the country in an extended stay and Stella’s updates and photos were so reassuring. She is such an incredibly warm and intuitive person, I have full trust in leaving my most cherished little girl with her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 5,116 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Scottsdale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Scottsdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Scottsdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Scottsdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
