“We had Mike watch Izzy for 8 days and everything was great. After making the reservation, we took our dog to meet Mike and to see where our dog would be staying. Their home is set up very well for the pets safety and their comfort. They were very easy to communicate with and were always very responsive by text. They provided contact daily with a brief update and a photo which was very comforting to us. We have already booked another stay for two weeks and know that Izzy will be very well cared for. We highly recommend Mike and his wife to care for your pet.”

“I am so thankful for Cindy and her care of Roxy! I was so nervous to leave her while we went out of town, but Cindy was an expert at making Roxy welcomed and relaxed. With updates through the weekend, I knew Roxy was in great hands! Thank you again, Cindy!”

“We boarded our elderly dog with Kim for the first time and were so pleased. She took such good care of him, gave him his meds and sent lots of updates to give us peace of mind. We will definitely have Kim watch him again.”
“Indy and Teddy had SUCH a great time hanging with the Woof Pack!! Will did an amazing job from initial outreach through our meet and greet and a seamless pickup. He was incredibly communicative throughout their stay, we loved all the pics of them having a blast!! We would absolutely book with Will for any future daycare or boarding needs.”

“Rachel did great with my dog! She provided updates, and it was easy to communicate with her regarding pickup and drop off. My 1st time using Rover and it was a good experience. I would definitely consider booking through her again.”

“This was our fist time having Richard as our pet sitter and we are very pleased! One of our dogs, Emma, is a recent rescue pup and she can be very shy. We were nervous about how she would handle this new experience. Richard was so patient and gentle with her. He eased her into his house and carefully introduced her to the other dogs. He let her explore at her own pace. In the end she and our other dog, Dobby, had a rollicking good time. We really appreciated and enjoyed the pictures Richard sent and could see both dogs were doing well and enjoying themselves. Thanks, Richard, for all your good work with our pups :) Lois and Eric Leader”

“Brandon is amazing! Can’t recommend more. Great communication and kept me updated with so many photos. My dog was so peaceful and relaxed on the way home, you could tell he was well cared for and felt right at home.”

“Lorinda was great! She sent me lots of updates and pictures of how my dog was doing and I could tell she had a lot of fun. Would definitely use Lorinda again :)”

“Jayme was awesome! I trusted her with my pup from the initial meeting. She kept me up to date with photos and made me feel totally comfortable leaving my dog with her. Will definitely book with her again. Highly, highly reccomend!”

“Matt and Rebecca were amazing! Ollie had a fabulous time. We enjoyed the photos they sent each day — especially the ones of him running it full speed, playing fetch, and snuggling with their girls! We cannot recommend them enough! ❤️”

“Very caring and attentive family with kids that were kind to our dog. House is safe for any dog. Sergio and Bethany were also very accommodating to the specific feeding instructions we provided.”

“Ashley was an amazing dog sitter! She kept me updated throughout Macy’s stay with messages and pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. Macy clearly enjoyed staying with her and was very well taken care of. I would definitely trust her to watch Macy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Ollie loved his time with Dawn and Andrew! It was probably the best week of his life actually. They sent pictures and videos daily, and took care of him as if he was their own. Highly recommend.”

“Madonna took great care of Odin during his stay. She was very attentive to his needs, especially with his arthritis, and adjusted his activity to keep him comfortable. I really appreciated how observant she was with his medications and routines. She kept me updated with messages and photos, and Odin seemed relaxed and content when I picked him up. He also ate well, which isn’t always the case for him, so that was a big plus. Overall, I felt confident he was in good hands and would absolutely book with her again.”

“Bosco's stay with Kelly was great. Her and her husband took great care of our pup, and sent plenty of pictures and videos of him playing, cuddling up on the couch, and being himself. It was great to know he was comfortable and content during his stay. We will be returning for future overnight boardings with Kelly.”

“Kona enjoyed his visit with Jaclyn, Wiliam and family! He was smiling in all the pictures they sent while we were away. He especially enjoyed the kids and the nearby dog Park. Thanks, we will definitely use them again!”

“Loved that Gabriela was available to watch my dog, Copper. I was on a trip with no cell service but I was confident Copper was in good hands. She sent me pictures everyday so that when I got back into service I was assured Copper was safe and comfortable. He looked like he enjoyed his stay. I would book with Gabriela again in the future! Thank you!”

Krista took awesome care of Tootsie!! She has the best backyard space and our dog loved it! Krista updated us each morning, and sent pics too!! Kim took wonderful care of Fifi during her stay. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Kim was patient, caring, and attentive, and it was clear that Fifi felt comfortable and happy with her. I truly appreciated all the love and attention she gave Fifi and would gladly book with her again. Highly recommend!

Alexandra is the BEST! I cannot say enough good things about her! She came through for me when I was in a panic searching for a sitter at the very last minute. She took in my Peppa girl and treated her like her own without any hesitation. She was sweet, communicative, and best of all Peppa loved her!! My pup felt like she was right at home and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I could enjoy my time away without worrying about my only child (lol). Thank you Alexandra!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
