Pet care experience

Pet sitter w/ space & yard!

Hi, it's nice to meet you! I have been raising dogs from puppyhood for the last 12 years, and I LOVE animals. My friends consider me the "dog whisperer" because I tend to be able to connect with even the most stubborn of dogs. I have raised all different sizes and activity levels including Australian Shepherds (I have one now!), Huskies, Dalmatians, German Shepherds, etc. I work from home and my job is flexible, so it is no problem for me to care for your dog and give them lots of love and attention all throughout the day. I have raised all of these from puppyhood, so I am well versed. We have dogs beds all throughout our house, so there are plenty of comfortable places for them to lay too.

After losing my first pet suddenly, I was anxious to let anyone watch my current pup. Matthew is incredible with my Matcha. She’s still young and looking to burn energy and bark your ear off but Matthew handles her with ease. She’s even stayed overnight and been so happy and constantly tired the days following.

Matt is so good with animals! Whether it’s letting them do their own thing or actively engaging in play or walks, he’s the best for leaving pets with. Any size, any energy level, the animals are always happy to be with him :)

Matthew did a wonderful job with my two dogs, Cooper and Colby. He is very attentive and followed instructions to a T. He also went above and beyond to make sure that my dogs were entertained because they’re high energy. Would work with him again.

Matt is so amazing with my husky and my cats! They are always so excited to see him and I just know they have the best time when Matt watches them. He is very easy to communicate with and is thorough with their care. His experience with animals is so evident and I trust him wholeheartedly with my pets!

Schedule

I work from home full-time, but my job is very flexible and I have essentially raised from puppyhood and had two dogs my whole career. I take lots of breaks to stretch my legs, and go for lots of walks and am very active.

Safety, trust & environment

I currently have one miniature Australian Shepherd who is 10 years old and easy to get along with. She mostly keeps to herself and is not particularly social, but is very friendly. She typically sleeps/lives outside of a crate, but she was crate trained and I have crate trained all of my dogs. I recently lost a German Shepherd who loved his crate and slept there in the evenings, but I’ve also babysat/hosted many dogs who don't sleep in crates. I'm open to any situation, so long as they are well-behaved, but I'd ask that if they don't do well when you're away to stick to crates! I have baby gates and an easy layout to our house, so very easy to keep them in the living room and make sure they don't get into anything. My yard is fenced with real grass for them to play on in the back. The home is very peaceful and quiet during the day, so I've tended to find that all the dogs we babysit find it relaxing and nap throughout the day with plenty of breaks for potty and attention.

Pets

A typical day

I love to be active with dogs and find that’s when they are happiest! That includes walks, ball (inside and outside), and mental stimulation as much as possible too.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Matthew can host up to 1 pet per night
I’ve worked with lots of different dogs, so I’d say the most helpful thing is to know in advance and special accommodations or quirks/behaviors I should be aware of! Obviously how well they get along with other dogs is super important too, energy levels, attention needs, etc.
