“Shea was AMAZING! She met with me and my cat Willy before the scheduled Rover Kitty Sitting. She was very thorough and we immediately connected. This was our first meeting and I felt completely comfortable giving her a key to my house. She did not disappoint. After she left I found my cat missing her and sleeping in the bedroom she stayed in. That told me a lot about how she cared for Willy. Highly recommend Shea!”

“Jessica had been nothing but wonderful. My big anxious sweet senior greyhound seemed to take to her immediately! Jessica has done walks/drop-in visits as well, and she's remained communicative, punctual, detailed, and caring throughout all her visits. During her stay at our house, she was respectful of our space, kept everything very clean, and followed all of our instructions "to a T." 10/10 would recommend Jessica and have her watch my pup again!!”

“Tamantha provided exceptional care for both my dogs and my home while I was away. As a first-time Rover user, I was a bit anxious—especially since one of my dogs is 13 and requires special medical attention. Tamantha was incredibly patient, responsive, and consistently positive throughout the entire experience. The peace of mind she gave me was truly priceless. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Erika did an outstanding job taking care of my 3 dogs and farm. She was proactively responsive, extremely clean, respectful of my house and clearly loved my fur babies. I have 1 very large 110 lb. dog which she handled perfectly. She sent daily photos, so I knew everyone was being taken great care of. When we got home, everything was normal. The house was better off than when we left it. She followed my instructions to a T. I could tell my pups loved her right back. She even left a polaroid photo of my pups and a clean poop bag in the poop bucket. I highly, highly recommend her.”

“Very well versed in all things dog, not your regular animal lover, she really knows her stuff. Super impressed with her abilities and my Pups absolutely love her. Will be returning for all trips I have in the future, can't speak highly enough. I have 2 large, active, 3 year old Belgian Malinois Rottweiler mixes”

“Alicia did a great job. She sent us pics of our pups and even made an extra trip to let them out to potty as we were stuck in traffic coming home. We will definitely use her again!”

“Leslie took such great care of my dog, Cookie, over the weekend! She was reliable, communicative, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. It was clear that Cookie was well cared for and happy. I really appreciated the updates and the attention she gave my pup. I would absolutely recommend Leslie to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and I’d be happy to have her watch Cookie again!”

“Communication is great. Arrived on time. I really appreciate her patience and willingness to work with my boy on building a relationship since he doesn’t like most people. I am so very happy that he has a new friend that we can rely on.”

“Rose took wonderful care of our home, our three dogs, and our cat while we were away on vacation to the East Coast. Her communication before, during, and after our trip was excellent, and her response time was always prompt. We returned home to a tidy house that was well cared for. We truly appreciated the peace of mind Rose provided while we were away and will absolutely ask her to care for our pets and home again during future travels.”

“Christina did a great job with our pups. One of our dogs can be overly anxious and a handful, but when we arrived home everyone was calm. They have maintained a great disposition since we’ve been home. We will definitely reach out again!”

About: I love pet sitting because animals have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up on a farm taught me responsibility, patience, and how to care for animals of all sizes and personalities. Being around pets feels natural to me, and I genuinely enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Pet sitting doesn’t feel like work, it feels like spending time doing something I’ve always loved. I have two dogs at home so I’m super used to working around animal schedules. I’m currently a hybrid nursing student so I have a bunch of free time and use this to earn some extra cash! I have hands-on experience house sitting in my hometown in Washington, where I’ve been trusted to care for both homes and pets while families are away. I treat every home with respect by keeping it clean, secure, and running smoothly, while also making sure pets receive the attention, care, and routine they’re used to. Having grown up around animals and regularly house sitting in my community, I understand how important trust and reliability are, and I always aim to give clients complete peace of mind.
“Vanessa house sat and took care of our two dogs while we were gone for 4 days. She took excellent care of the dogs and sent pictures and videos, so we could see how they were doing while we were away.”

“Thalia was reliable, punctual, communicative, and kind. Spent the whole day at my house with my dog that has separation anxiety. When I arrived home, everything looked just as it was before and my dog was her usual waggley self. We will definitely use her services again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gilbert
Macy has absolutely amazing!! She watched our dog and two kitties and sent updates everyday. Our dog is kenneled and she had no issue hanging out at the house to let her be out more which was very important to me. Our flights home were also super delayed and she had no problem coming back out to check on our dog again. We will definitely use Macy for future bookings!

This was my first time using Rover. Alicia was great. She took care of my elderly pitbull, 8 year old boxer and 3 month old puppy. My puppy had also just injured himself which required extra care and she was wonderful. She communicated well and kept in touch with pictures which provided peace of mind during a stressful time.
Laura was fantastic! She took wonderful care of our dogs and our home while we were away. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. It was obvious our dogs received plenty of love, attention, and great care. She even went above and beyond by cleaning up the backyard, which is no small feet with a German Shepherd and Border Collie. When we returned, our house was clean, tidy, and exactly as we left it. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would gladly have Laura watch our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and thoughtful sitter.

I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is intelligent, responsible, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. I felt confident trusting her with my dogs from the moment I booked, but she still managed to exceed my expectations. She provided exceptional care and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away.

Abby did a good job watching my dog!! She sent pics and updates regularly. We had just lost his companion (a 16 year old female dog) and so he was quite stressed but she did great with him and made him feel comfortable and happy. She also watched some farm animals, a lizard, some fish, and collected our eggs for us so she is very versatile. We really appreciated being able to leave him and have peace of mind while we were out of town.
Leslie took such great care of my dog, Cookie, over the weekend! She was reliable, communicative, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. It was clear that Cookie was well cared for and happy. I really appreciated the updates and the attention she gave my pup. I would absolutely recommend Leslie to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and I’d be happy to have her watch Cookie again!

Berkley is an amazing dog sitter! She took incredible care of our pups and sent me constant pics and videos so I never had to wonder how they were doing. She was super patient with our highly anxious dog and even got him to trust her enough to walk him. She also left our house spotless. I would definitely use her again!

Jordan is truly the sweetest, and we honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She loves and cares for our pets as if they were her own, and the peace of mind that gives us is absolutely priceless. We trust her completely with both our pets and our home, and our babies adore her. She is kind, dependable, and thoughtful, with the biggest heart for animals. Over time, she has truly become like family to us, and we are so incredibly grateful for her. We almost don’t want to share her because she’s that amazing, but she deserves all the love and recognition. If you are lucky enough to book Jordan, know your pets will be loved, spoiled, and cared for like family. 🐾❤️

We were very happy with Rose as our in-home sitter! She had great communication and made us feel comfortable while on vacation. She truly cared about our pets and took extra time to work with our new rescue dog that can be timid. We received many photos and updates. We came back to a clean house and happy animals. I definitely recommend her & will be using her in the future. Thanks again!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gilbert walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gilbert maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gilbert choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
