“We LOVE Shea! She was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is as pet friendly as one can get, and she is as thoughtful, communicative, & efficient as she was kind. We had some setbacks due to weather and flight delays, and she was able to accommodate us and was not only flexible, but understanding. Which was such a relief. We have a bit of a skiddish furbaby, and Shea immediately got on her level to introduce herself and gave her the time she needed to warm up to her and was not at all put off by her slow to warm tendencies. Our house was cared for, clean and more importantly the pups were loved in our absence. I would highly recommend Shea for anyone who is in need of pet sitting and pet care needs. She was professional and she put us at ease even with the stress of inclement weather and flight delays. Thank you, Shea! We appreciate you. Ruthie & Phoebe miss you already.”

“Our first Rover experience and I seriously cannot express how incredible Erika was! Our dog is very anxious and it was so clear through all her updates and photos that he loved her and trusted her. Erika sent multiple photos daily, took great care of our home, and followed all our dogs instructions for medications, food, activity. We will be using her again for all our Rover needs!”

“Alicia did a wonderful job caring for our 2 spoiled dogs and home for 11 days. Her young daughter loved playing with our dogs and we were afraid they wouldn't want us back. Our hound dog definitely appeared to miss her. She kept them happy and followed all instructions I had given her regarding their care. One of our dogs is older and needs special attention as well as oral medication and Alicia did great with her. She also took care of our plants and added chemicals to our hot tub as requested. I would not hesitate to use Alicia again.”
About: I am currently owned by Lucy, 14-year old Shih Tzu. We live with my cousin, her 9 year old son, and Charlie, a 10 year old chiweenie. I grew up with a Shetland Sheepdog, Tiffany, and Mom made sure I learned basic dog training. Plenty of dog and baby-sitting in High School and college. I worked at a pet store for 3 years after college. I became the proud parent of rescue Border Collie Mix, Leeloo in 2016. She travelled and lived with me for nearly 8 years. In 2021, I adopted Lucy the Shih Tzu with severe separation anxiety for my Mom, who was always home. Sadly Mom passed a few months later. Lucy and I have been a team since, and she has taught me a lot. I believe in positive reinforcement and communication. I am sorry, but I am allergic to cats, and I’m unable to offer cat services. I am a morning person, as it's the coolest time of the day. I just started a full time job, However my cousin Rhonda works from home. I live with my cousin Rhonda and her 9 year old son Grayson. They have a 10 year old Chiweenie Charlie. I have a 14 year old Shih Tzu Lucy. We are in the first floor of apartments with lots of green space.

“Allie 2as great with my precious Chili Dog! Great updates and I always knew she was doing okay. Chili was so excited to see her again after I got home so I know everything was awesome. Can'tt recommend her enough. Thank you Allie!”

“Jessica is truly wonderful! She cared for my pets at my home with great love, treating them as if they were her own. She regularly sent me numerous adorable photos and updates. When I mentioned it was my dog's birthday while I was away, she even sang "Happy Birthday" to him and gave him an extra treat. I highly recommend her!”

“Tamantha, did a great job with house-sitting my dogs. The dogs were happy for us to be home and didn't pick up any behaviors while we were gone. No issues, no drama. I would totally hire Tamantha again.”
“Mia helped me last minute with a pretty new 9 week year old puppy! This required more than most with more consistent bathroom breaks and more time than a traditional pup. Mia killed it! Lots of pics and videos, and great communication! Again, a week long house stay on short notice is always a pet owners worst nightmare, but Mia made it a great and easy for me! Thanks Mia!”

“My boy George was obsessed with Marianne the minute he met her. I left town for a few days while Marianne was watching him and I got lots of updates and photos about the stay. If you have separation anxiety like I do while leaving my dog, he will be in great hands. I’ll be definitely booking Marianne back to back for future stays. I feel so lucky to find someone so good to my beloved pup, who is also so respectful to the property. Thank you Marianne, we love you :) Eva & George”

“Christina did a great job with our pups. One of our dogs can be overly anxious and a handful, but when we arrived home everyone was calm. They have maintained a great disposition since we’ve been home. We will definitely reach out again!”

“Rose was great! She helped us care for our new puppy who is a lot of work! She kept our home clean which was not easy to do with our little one and kept her entertained while we were away.”

“Sydney was wonderful! She followed all our instructions, asked clarification questions and left the house in great condition when we returned. Our dog is on medicine, and both pets get nutritional supplements daily, and all was taken care of properly and we received great pics of the babies while we were gone. Our pets love her and she was very attentive and caring to them. We will not hesitate to hire Sydney again!”

“Nicole and Rose were great! They were flexible with some last minute changes to the sitting. They sent updates and pictures for me to see how the pups were doing. They were very kind and great to communicate with. Can’t wait for them to house sit my pups again!”

“This is our second time having Sofia stay with our cats while we have been out of town for an extended period of time. She is always very communicative and sends updates and pictures. We feel comforted knowing we will get updates through text and photos.”

“Vanessa house sat and took care of our two dogs while we were gone for 4 days. She took excellent care of the dogs and sent pictures and videos, so we could see how they were doing while we were away.”

About: Grew up with chickens, a horse, cats, and dogs so I have quite the pallet of experience. Started pet sitting last summer with putting signs in neighborhoods to take care of all kinds of pets. Took care of senior dogs to guinea pigs and cared for my own chihuahua who was on medication. Im extremely adaptable to any pet and instructions, and would love for your pet to be my next client! Currently working part-time at Raising Canes and taking online college courses so my schedule is pretty open! I love having variety in my day to day so my schedule is pretty inconsistent in the best way possible so I can work with pretty much whatever you throw at me! Unfortunately I’ve experienced dogs with aggressive behaviors, so I have very good sense of body language and keeping dogs comfortable and feelings safe. I love to get to know each pets liked and dislikes to give both of us the best experience possible!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gilbert
Alicia did an amazing job caring for our dogs and house while we were out of town. She sent pics everyday and was so reliable and friendly and we knew our pets were well taken care of while we were gone. We will definitely contact her again to watch our pets and house.
Berkley is an amazing dog sitter! She took incredible care of our pups and sent me constant pics and videos so I never had to wonder how they were doing. She was super patient with our highly anxious dog and even got him to trust her enough to walk him. She also left our house spotless. I would definitely use her again!

Jordan is truly the sweetest, and we honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She loves and cares for our pets as if they were her own, and the peace of mind that gives us is absolutely priceless. We trust her completely with both our pets and our home, and our babies adore her. She is kind, dependable, and thoughtful, with the biggest heart for animals. Over time, she has truly become like family to us, and we are so incredibly grateful for her. We almost don’t want to share her because she’s that amazing, but she deserves all the love and recognition. If you are lucky enough to book Jordan, know your pets will be loved, spoiled, and cared for like family. 🐾❤️

We were very happy with Rose as our in-home sitter! She had great communication and made us feel comfortable while on vacation. She truly cared about our pets and took extra time to work with our new rescue dog that can be timid. We received many photos and updates. We came back to a clean house and happy animals. I definitely recommend her & will be using her in the future. Thanks again!!

Emily was a fantastic dog sitter! She took such wonderful care of our anxious Chihuahua, making sure she felt safe and secure while we were away. The regular updates and photos she sent were great. On top of being fantastic with our pup, she took immaculate care of our house. We highly recommend Emily!

Lasey did a great job watching our dogs while we were out of town. One of our dogs is a very nervous rescue and usually takes a long time to warm up to people, but she made him feel comfortable and safe surprisingly quickly. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing they were well cared for while we were away. We’d definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a patient, reliable dog sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gilbert walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gilbert maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gilbert choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
