“ARIEL was so sweet and took the time to come meet me prior to watching my dogs. My dogs are like my kids so I take great care in choosing someone who I think they will love and they definitely loved her. She left my house better than it was when I left and I couldn’t have appreciated her more with how much time she spent with them.”

“Ashley took very good care of our Jack Russell terrier, Jilli. She made sure that Jilli had lots of play time and simulation. She is extremely reliable and thorough. She was on time for our meet and greet and asked appropriate questions putting our minds at ease. She sent picks and updates every day. I would highly recommend her to care for your pets and will be using her again!!”

“Ady was kind, gentle and my girls could sense she was an animal lover since they all came to say hi right away which is a rare thing. We came back and everyone was doing great, happy and healthy. That's all I could ask for.”

“Our experience with Abi was wonderful. This was the first time we left our pets without family around and Abi allowed me to relax in knowing they were in great care. In all the pictures, the girls all looked happy and relaxed which was a great sign that everything was okay and calm at the house. Coming back, they were happy to see us but were not desperate for attention which showed me they received it just fine while we were gone. Happy to have Abi as a contact here now for future travels and needs!”

About: Hi! I have 2 years of professional dog training experience and many years of house/pet sitting from farm animals to house pets. I’ve worked hands on with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, personalities, and training levels, so I’m comfortable caring for everything. I’m comfortable reinforcing existing training and routines while you’re away, and strive to care for pets in their own environment and keep their normal routines as consistent as possible. I know how important it is to have someone you can genuinely trust with both your pets and your home! I have two horses, two dogs & a cat myself! Pet care is my full time job, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m able to plan my day around your pet’s needs and normal routine. My only regular commitment is spending a few hours at the barn each day, and I have flexibility with when I go. I follow your instructions closely for feeding, walks, medications, training, playtime, and any other individual needs. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away!
“Punctual, quick to respond, and professional. Seemed to care about my dogs as much as I do which is hard to do. Never a doubt in my mind that my pets or house weren’t going to be perfectly taken care of. 10/10 rating. 5 stars. Thank you!”

“Thank you Rayna for patiently caring for my Dalmatian Isla! Isla is still a bit of a puppy and nervous around people she doesn’t know, and Rayna sent lots of pictures as she and Isla got to know each other.”

“I feel like I just struck gold! My dogs are my kids and as anyone would be, I was a little apprehensive of having someone I didn't know stay in my home. Mallory was absolutely AMAZING! I have 2 doodles under the age of 2 and she cared for them so well and followed our routine as best possible, even though I didn't expect her to. I also have 2 kitties at home but, it was a short trip so no real need there but, she loved them just the same. I felt 100% at ease with Mallory looking after my guys. My neighbor saw her out with one of the pups and she text me telling me I "scored" with this sitter ;-) She was super communicative and left my house better than when I left. If you are looking for someone to watch after your furry friends Mallory's you're person! I kinda didn't want to leave this review as I want her to myself but, she deserves it 1000%”

About: I’ve been around and cared for dogs for most of my life, from energetic and playful dogs to those that need a calmer, more patient approach. As a fitness coach, I’m active, dependable, and comfortable keeping up with high-energy dogs on walks and during play. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, boundaries, routines, and body language rather than treating every pet the same. Whether your dog needs exercise, companionship, feeding, check-ins, or simply someone calm and attentive while you’re away, I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I would my own. I work split shifts most days, which gives me flexibility for midday visits, walks, and check-ins. I’m also available for overnight stays throughout the week. I do work early mornings, so I’m usually up and moving early, which works well for pets with morning routines. I provide care in your pet’s own home, where they’re most comfortable and familiar with their surroundings. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, and household rules. I’m attentive to changes in behavior and body language and prioritize keeping your pet’s routine as consistent and stress-free as possible.

“Savannah was great! We received photos daily and I knew our girl was in great hands. We came back and our house was in clean condition and dog bedding washed and our Marla was happy. All we can hope for! Thank you again!”

“Tahlia was great! Our house was left in perfect condition and our dog was very happy to have company while we were away. She was also very flexible when our vacation had to be postponed a day.”

About: 🐾 About Me Dogs have always been a big part of my life! I grew up around dogs, and my very first dog was Tequila, a Rottweiler, who gave me my love for big dogs and their big personalities. ❤️ I’ve also volunteered at a Humane Society, where I was responsible for walking dogs of all sizes and personalities, from small, easygoing pups to larger dogs who were more nervous, energetic, or challenging to handle. This experience taught me how important patience, confidence, and understanding each dog’s individual needs can be. Today, I’m a proud dog mom to Macho, my 3-year-old Pomeranian. 🐶 He keeps me on my toes and reminds me that little dogs can have BIG personalities! I also regularly pet sit my sister-in-law’s two Australian Shepherds, Mavy and Leroy, so I’m comfortable caring for both small and large, high-energy dogs. Whether your pup needs a walk, some playtime, companionship, or simply someone they can feel comfortable and safe with while you’re away, I’ll treat them like family. My goal is to make sure every dog in my care feels loved, comfortable, and happy. 🐾❤️ I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! 🐾 My Schedule I’m currently available Monday–Friday after 7 PM for dog walks and drop-in visits. On weekends, I have more flexibility and can provide pet sitting in your home or take your pup on walks and adventures. 🐶❤️ I’m happy to work around your schedule whenever possible! I care for pets in their home by following their routine, keeping them comfortable and safe, and giving them plenty of attention, walks, playtime, food, and fresh water. I also keep their space clean and send updates so you know how they’re doing.
“Nicole and Rose were great! They were flexible with some last minute changes to the sitting. They sent updates and pictures for me to see how the pups were doing. They were very kind and great to communicate with. Can’t wait for them to house sit my pups again!”

“Phia did an awesome job with communicating updates, keeping the house tidy, & making sure our dogs felt loved & cared for! Would definitely recommend Phia to care and look after your pet(s)!”

Josh took excellent care of our pups and our home, I am positive they did not miss us one bit. He treated them like his own and even completed extra house duties without being asked such as checking the mail, some cleaning before we arrived back home, and took care of killing a scorpion that made its way inside. Will absolutely be booking with Josh again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sun Lakes on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,272 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sun Lakes. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sun Lakes walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sun Lakes maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sun Lakes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sun Lakes. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
