“This was the first time my husband and I have left our fur babies with anyone but a family member or friend, and we are so pleased with our experience! Alanna was kind and professional from the very start. She alleviated any concerns and answered any questions we had for her. She not only came over once prior to our booking, but twice, to ensure the dogs remembered her and were comfortable. Aside from the care she took on our animals, she respected our home while she stayed there with them! It was as clean, or cleaner, than how we left it and we got daily updates and pics and more if requested. We look forward to booking Alanna again for any future dog sitting!”

“Joel was fantastic at caring for our home and animals while we were away. He was very professional and asked many detailed questions about our pets and their care! Will be booking again in the future! Thank you again!!!”

“Molly just cared for my elderly boxer girl for the third time. Grace was super glad to see me when I came home, but after giving her dinner and a little walk, Grace, for several hours kept looking out for Molly .... So glad they are bonded. It's hard to leave my doggie, but I know that with Molly here, Grace will be just fine. And Molly gives me the reassurance I need while I am away that she is.”

“First time Olivia has pet sat for us and it's like she's been helping us for years! Very professional, great communicator and very responsive. We will definitely book her again!”

“Shanley took care of my three month old basset hound puppy, and 1 1/2 year-old kitty and did an excellent job! I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for somebody that loves and cares for animals! I definitely will be contacting Shanley again! Tricia ❤️❤️”

“We decided to make the transition from boarding our dogs while we are gone to getting a dog sitter & Alexa made the transition seamless! Alexa had great communication & sent lots of pictures & videos of our dogs :) We already have our next booking with her & it’s so nice knowing our dogs will be cared for in the best way! :) Thank you Alexa!!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly loves animals. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands while we were away. She kept us updated, followed all of our instructions, and treated our home and our pup with great care and respect. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

About: Starting dog sitting on and off since I was 18 through a few different clients. And it’s just something that I love to do, spend time with the doggies that I sit for and make sure that the family and housesitting for comes back to well taken care of animals in a clean home.I have experience giving medication to doggies and picky eaters! I’m currently in part time retail so i’ll have list of time to hang out with your animals! i’m very active so i like to get out every once and a while! I would be gone at most 5 hours for work, if that does not work for you let me know and i’ll see what i can do!! I care for pets in my clients home just as good as i treat my own pets (of course) I’m willing to take them on walks, give medication, or just hang out and play with them!
“Tahlia was great! Our house was left in perfect condition and our dog was very happy to have company while we were away. She was also very flexible when our vacation had to be postponed a day.”

“I can’t say enough about Raquel. She is a top notch dog sitter. She stayed at my house for 8 hours of puppy sitting my 13 week old lil Peanut and was attentive to all his puppy needs. She also is the best with consistent communication and picture updates. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for the best puppy care!”

“We can't say enough about Cole. Our first time with Rover and we hit the jackpot! We were somewhat nervous about having someone stay and didn't know us or our fur babies. Cole put us at ease right away. We had him visit twice to get to know him and for him to get to know our pups. Always right on time. He took Samson and Lilah for walks. We talked a lot about what their needs were, he was very inquisitive about their food and med needs. He stayed for 8 days and kept us up to date on our babies, sent pics and gave us updates. We asked him to do a side job and wash our windows, excellent job! He watered our garden too! Great house sitter! House was left clean and perfect! He stayed home a majority of the time because we were looking for someone who had a flexible schedule and could stay with the dogs a lot. Cole was the perfect choice. We came home to happy healthy dogs. Totally recommend Cole. We will always choose Cole if he is available for future stays.”

“Kylee was very polite and took wonderful care of our dogs, and home! Everything looked nicer then when I left it, and she gave us consistent updates and pictures each day which we really enjoyed. Thank you so much Kylee, definitely will be happy to have your help in the future!”

“ARIEL was so sweet and took the time to come meet me prior to watching my dogs. My dogs are like my kids so I take great care in choosing someone who I think they will love and they definitely loved her. She left my house better than it was when I left and I couldn’t have appreciated her more with how much time she spent with them.”

“Virginia Was Awesome With Our 3 FurBabies. She Took Awesome Care Of Our Home and Our Tabby, Heidi, Autumn !! We Would Hire Virginia Again , Thank You Virginia Your Awesome Jill and Pete”

“Tobi took amazing care of our pups! Her attention to detail, maintaining their routine, kindness, exemplary communication and genuine love for the pups was fantastic and made us very comfortable leaving them in her care.”

“Hayley made herself available on short notice when my wife and I adopted our new puppy, quickly realizing we needed extra hands. She was outstanding with our puppy, working with her as she potty trained and even started teaching her how to “sit” and answer to other commands. Hayley provided us with encouraging support and very helpful advice, and updates throughout the day. Before leaving, she kindly cleaned things up and washed our puppy’s feeding bowl. We were very happy with her care and highly recommend Hayley.”

“Tarah went above and beyond. We were stuck in Poland one extra day due to flight cancellations and she was able to rework her schedule to stay with our 10 year old dog and kitties. We appreciate you so much Tarah.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chandler Heights
Alexa was truly incredible — a full 10‑star experience from start to finish. This was our first overnight stay, and because our pup is our fur kid, we’re extremely selective about who we trust. Alexa went above and beyond in every way. We received thoughtful picture and text updates throughout the night, which gave us total peace of mind. Knowing our dog was safe, relaxed, and genuinely loved allowed us to fully enjoy our time away. It was clear Alexa cared for him as if he were her own, and that means everything to us. We deeply appreciate everything you did, Alexa. Our dog was happy, protected, and adored — and we felt completely at ease because of your dedication. We will absolutely be reaching out to you for our next outing. You’ve earned our trust in the best way possible.

Simone was absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! From the moment we left, she kept us updated with thoughtful text messages and plenty of photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear our dog and cats were happy, relaxed, and genuinely loved having her around. She has a special way of making animals feel comfortable, and it showed in every update she sent. When we returned home, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was. In fact, our home looked even better than when we left! It’s rare to find someone who not only takes exceptional care of your pets but also treats your home with the same level of respect and care. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, caring, professional, and dependable, we wholeheartedly recommend Simone. We will absolutely be using her again in the future. Thank you, Simone, for taking such incredible care of our furry family members!

Griffin exceeded all of our expectations. He was communicative, caring, detail, oriented, and created a safe and calming environment for our pups. They relaxed around him faster than any previous dog sitter we’ve had. He left our home in great condition and did a truly great job overall.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chandler Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chandler Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chandler Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
