“Leslie was AWESOME! We had her watch 3 dogs and a cat, and she was a rockstar! We got so many cute pictures and videos daily. The animals were obsessed with her, they were sad to see her go. I’d definitely rebook! She was professional, kind, communicative, and very animal oriented! Can’t wait to book again!”

“Kylee was very polite and took wonderful care of our dogs, and home! Everything looked nicer then when I left it, and she gave us consistent updates and pictures each day which we really enjoyed. Thank you so much Kylee, definitely will be happy to have your help in the future!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly loves animals. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands while we were away. She kept us updated, followed all of our instructions, and treated our home and our pup with great care and respect. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Elisabeth was fantastic while we were away. She provided daily updates and our pup loved his time with her. He seemed very comfortable with her. She was even kind enough to wash and change our sheets the day we came back since we were getting in late! We 100% will be booking her for additional trips we take.”

“First time Olivia has pet sat for us and it's like she's been helping us for years! Very professional, great communicator and very responsive. We will definitely book her again!”

“I don’t know where to start… she was beyond our expectations! This was our first time having anyone watch the boys outside of family, and our boys have a few quirks with each other we have always been worried about. Tarah was very aware of dog behavior and understood our concerns. She instantly made our dogs feel comfortable, they loved her right away! She sent us updates constantly, sent so many fun pictures, and not to mention her cleaning before she left! I highly recommend booking Tarah, we are already planning our next trip! Thank you again for everything ❤️”

“Tobi did great being her first time with us. She provided photos and let us know when she arrived and left. We will definitely ask her next time we need a dog sitter!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and have cared for a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, ferrets, snakes, and even tarantulas. Growing up with so many different animals taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each pet’s unique needs and personality. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or prefers a quieter environment, I’ll make sure they receive the care, attention, and love they deserve while you’re away. I treat every animal as if they were part of my own family. ❤️🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I work part-time at an Italian restaurant, typically from 3 PM to 10 PM, although I’m often off earlier. This gives me plenty of availability during the mornings, afternoons, and on many days for check-ins, walks, feedings, and quality time with your pets. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special requests to keep pets comfortable and maintain their normal routine. Whether caring for pets in your home or during visits, I’ll provide plenty of attention, exercise, and updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. 🐾❤️
About: Reliable, caring, and always on time, I treat every dog like family. I understand how important consistency and trust are when someone else is caring for your pet, so you can count on me to show up as scheduled and provide attentive, compassionate care every visit. Whether your dog needs a high-energy walk, a relaxed neighborhood stroll, or a little extra patience and encouragement, I tailor each outing to their personality and needs. I’m easygoing, communicative, and happy to send updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities!
“Lora was amazing! Took care of every detail with my German Shepard Abby. She went above and beyond, even staying with her and caring for her on the 4th of July during the fireworks. I was able to relax and completely trust that Abby was in great hands. Cannot ask for more than that!”

“Whitney was wonderful with Sassy, played with her, walks, Etc. Whitney took the best pics and sent us an update every day. Very conscientious and reliable. Will definitely use Whitney again!”

“We have been looking for that PERFECT sitter for our boy for several years now. After reaching out to our go to sitters and all of them being busy, we took a chance and contacted Karen. We were her first customers on Rover. All I can say is what a Blessing! Karen went above and beyond! Our boy was so well taken care of! I would highly recommend Karen. She is an amazing sitter. She is our new “go to”. Sitter. (I told her I didn’t want to leave a review and wanted to be selfish and have her for our own!) LOL she is amazing! And highly recommended!”

About: I have over 10 years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I worked as a professional dog groomer for more than a decade, giving me extensive experience safely handling everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs and nervous rescue pets. In addition to grooming, I have fostered dogs through rescue organizations for over 10 years and regularly volunteer to help animals in need. I currently have four dogs of my own and understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, dependable, and attentive to care for your pets. I offer drop in visits, walks, feeding, medication administration, playtime, potty breaks, companionship, and lots of updates while you’re away. I am comfortable with multi pet households, senior dogs, puppies, and pets with special needs. Because I have my own dogs at home, I provide care in your pet’s familiar environment rather than boarding in my home. My goal is to keep your pets comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I am able to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I offer dog walking, drop in visits, and house sitting, and I can accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend requests whenever possible. “Alanna was great with my 3 boys. I got updates and pictures every morning. When I returned home, my dogs were happy, my house was clean and everything back to normal. I have already let Alanna know I want her to watch them next time.”

“Our dogs received so much love and care! Our two 100lb+ dogs require detailed arrangements to prevent aggression and they were treated with excellent care and attention - specifically with extra comfort for the 4th of July fireworks noise. We look forward to booking again!”

About: With 15 years of dog behavioral and care experience, theres nothing I have not seen or dealt with. I offer a safe and structured environment for all temperaments, breed and age. About: I have had dogs and cats of my own for as long as I can remember, and as any pet owner knows, our pets become apart of our family. Sometimes it’s hard to find someone who will love them and treat them as you would, but I’m here to tell you that your fur babies will be loved and cared for by me as much as I would my own (and probably a little spoiled too haha)! I would love to be that person that helps ease your mind knowing that your fur baby is safe and sound while you’re away! I work from home, so pet care for me day to day is pretty easy! They will have lots of play time and potty time throughout the day and night! How I take care of pets will always vary on the owners wants and needs. Regardless of what it is, I’m more than willing to go above and beyond for them. Whether it’s just to feed the pet and let it out for potty breaks, or sit on the couch and love on them because they have separation anxiety! I am open and willing to do whatever I can for your fur babies!

If I could give Tarah 100 stars, I absolutely would! She was hands down the best dog sitter we could have asked for. Her communication was incredible from start to finish, and she kept us updated all week with the sweetest photos and videos that truly gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. What stood out most was how obvious it was that she genuinely loved our babies like they were her own. You could see how comfortable, happy, and well cared for they were in every update. She went so far above and beyond in every way, and it made all the difference. We truly couldn’t be more grateful. I would hire Tarah 100 times over without hesitation and recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and exceptional. She is simply the best!

We booked Kylee since our regular dog sitter was already booked for our last-minute trip. We were slightly nervous as our dogs can be a handful, but Kylee took such great care of our boys and they loved her. I highly recommend using Kylee to watch your pets, I appreciated the consistent communication and photo updates as well!

We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly loves animals. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands while we were away. She kept us updated, followed all of our instructions, and treated our home and our pup with great care and respect. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Nichole took such good care of my girls! I was out of town for a family visit and used Nichole for the first time. We did an initial meet and greet and my dogs took to her right away, I could tell she was a great fit! She sent photos and updates each day, walked them, brushed, and even played in the pool with them. Nichole also took care of a few extra things that I asked of her, no problem. I would recommend her highly and am glad I found a reliable regular sitter.

Joel and Ashley did a fantastic job sitting our 2 dogs and cat! This is the first time in a while we’ve needed a sitter, and they did a great job managing our pets’ stress. Joel was also very communicative and easy to reach, and even cleaned a little! It was very reassuring knowing someone was with them the whole time. We’ll definitely contact them next time we need a sitter

Emily did a wonderful job watching our two St. Bernards, Gus and Pepperoni, and our goldendoodle, Boomer, over the weekend. She was reliable, caring, and handled our three big dogs so well. We came home to happy pups and had total peace of mind while we were away. Highly recommend her!

Jasmine was wonderful!! She took exceptional care of my two young mischievous dogs and my small elderly dog with no teeth. I left instructions and she followed them exactly. My dogs have specific ways to be fed and she took time out of her day to meet me and my dogs ahead of time so I can show her. I used her service for five days. She stayed inside my home and hardly left. My dogs got her undivided attention. My home was nice and neat when I returned. She took great care of my home as well. She was even kind enough to bring in packages I had forgot were still coming to the house. She gave multiple updates throughout the time she was here along with pictures. That made me feel very reassured that they were doing good. I have already referred her to my friends and family, and I would highly suggest her for anyone who is reading this. I will definitely be using your service again in the near future. Thank you so very much. My dogs mean everything to our family and you helped us enjoy a vacation knowing our dogs were safe.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in San Tan Valley on Rover is $49.66 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,315 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across San Tan Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Tan Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Tan Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Tan Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
