I am currently in school to be a Veterinary Assistant! On my off days, Rover is my main source of income, so I have a lot of time on my hands, why not spend it taking care of someone’s pet!

I feel like someone’s home is their sacred space and it should respected. When I go to someone else’s home to take care of their pet, I do what I need to do and stay in my respective space, where I know I’m allowed to be. I tend to clean a bit whenever I leave the place I am housesitting (washing guest bed sheets, vacuuming, etc) so that your house is as clean, if not cleaner, than it was when you left 😊

It’s important to me that I know if the dog has any bad habits like chewing or digging, and if I need to watch them while they use the bathroom, etc. i really appreciate it when pet parents leave me any additional care instructions about your pet/your house so I don’t have to worry you with a bunch of questions while you’re away from home. I don’t have any dog breed preferences, I personally have a pit mix, so I know breed prejudices are misleading.
A typical day
I enjoy playing with dogs and their favorite toys, I usually walk dogs around the neighborhood that they reside in if the weather permits. If they know any tricks, I enjoy practicing with them or even teaching them something new. If the owner allows it, I might even grab them a pup cup from Dutch Brothers :) I will update pet parents as often as they’d like, so they know their baby is safe and sound!

I’ve always had multiple pets in my family since I was a little girl, so taking care of animals comes easy to me. Pet care is something that I really enjoy doing, I have a deep love for all animals and fall in love with every pet I meet! I also helped feed the local cats whenever I was on my university’s campus, Grand Canyon University has a Trap-Neuter-Release club that I volunteered with while on campus. I have experience sitting all ages of animals, from puppies/kittens to senior pets. I also have taken care of some more exotic pets like bunnies, lizards, goats, and snakes!

Mel was a fantastic sitter and we would definitely re book her! She gave us daily updates and pictures of our dog and left our house cleaner than she found it! Our dog really enjoyed having her.
